Excellent. Tim replaced the heating elements and thermostat and saved me the cost of a new HWH.

They corrected the draining issues and did a through analysis of why the water wasn't running correctly in the sink. It turned out that the spout was defective and they helped me get a new replacement. (Talked to the company rep on the phone). Also checked on an issue with the washer. Explained how I could prevent the draining issues from occurring in the future. Very knowledgeable, prompt and friendly. Will have them install the spout when it gets delivered.

Very pleased with the ease of working with Golden Rule. We called and they arrived within hours. They worked quickly and cleanly and didn't try to up-sell.

Very easy to work with and very response. We had a few different problems we were experiencing (leak in kitchen, squealing in pipes) and ended up having to do some troubleshooting to figure out what needed to be fixed and replaced. Tim was great to work with, and everyone who came to our house each appointment: Chris, Mike & Al were all professional and friendly. We are satisfied with the work they performed, and will definitely contact them for future plumbing needs.

I have nothing but good things to say about Golden Rule. I had two other quotes from plumbers who wanted to replace my entire water supply line, but Tim offered to repair it for me for one third the price. I had a leak detection company come to identify the leak before repair and they were more than 10 feet off (they said it was in the lawn, when really it was under the driveway). Tim and Bob dug 5.5ft deep where the location was marked and when the line wasn't found, Bob came back to the house to meet with another technician from the leak detection company to pinpoint the leak the right way (using a scope camera). They then filled in the hole they had dug and reseeded the grass for me. The next morning, they came back and cut a section of driveway out, fixed the leak, and then waited while the water ran to check that they got it. Despite the fact that they had to come two days in a row and dig an unnecessary hole, Tim still kept to the original estimate. He also replaced my laundry washer line for free after he identified it was about to burst.

I was very well pleased with the company. Tim was very prompt in coming out to the house evaluating the project and very responsive with an estimate. Chris the technician did an excellent job. He was very courteous and communicated well reviewing all the steps with me.

Found and repaired dripping copper pipe seam in basement. Fix worked, still dry today. Reasonable price, fast service.

I was not at all impressed with this company. First, the two plumbers were very unprofessional. Upon entering my home they complained about the job conditions and spent a considerable amount of time talking inappropriately to one another. The replacement of our powder room sink apparently required the removal of the pedestal which ripped off a good section of the wall requiring patch and repaint. They did not inform me that this could happen at the beginning and never mentioned ANYTHING about it until the end when I went to look at their work and complained that it looked awful (see attached photo) They guy offered to caulk and then realized he didn't have any with him. As for the exterior problem, they had to get to the plumbing line through an access panel in the basement. The guy simply stated the access panel wasn't big enough and that we would have to cut a bigger opening. Thinking I didn't have a choice I agreed but in speaking to others, the line could have been accessed through the access panel and now there is a larger section of our ceiling removed. Lastly, I made the mistake of not testing all of the faucets before they left and one of them had the hot/cold reversed. I've called the company to have this corrected and did not receive a call back. I would not recommend using this company and am sorry I did.

His experience was important in assessing that it was fine to remove certain fixture times I had been reluctant to remove for fear of making it worse. He charged me the minimal service call fee and was a pleasant man.

Bob provided a not-to-exceed quote for installing a filter system and install kit I purchased online. Dave performed the installation. The kit did not include pipe and fittings required for the install, so Dave had to acquire materials during install. He purchased better quality valves than provided in the kit and clearly explained the benefit of the new valves. The job took most of the morning. I found Dave extremely capable and a super nice guy. I was especially pleased Dave purchased additional pipe, fittings and valves within the original not-to-exceed quote. As he left for the supply store, I braced myself for a time and materials upcharge, but it never came. This was my first experience with Golden Rule, but won't be my last.

Easy to work with. Professional, polite and competent. Fair price. Took all trash with them. I would definitely use them again.

The Golden Rule Plumbing team made this transaction a pleasure from start to finish. I called for an estimate to replace our 20-year-old 80-gallon water heater with a 40-gallon one. Bob said that the 50-gallon model was actually cheaper than the 40-gallon one, so I went with that. He said it would be about $925, depending on the installation. I told him it would be a tight fit to get the old one out of the tiny utility closet, and sent photos, and he sent Tim over a couple hours later to take a look and take measurements. Tim said it would just fit, but he'd probably need to install a new shut-off valve and a junction box on the wall, since the electrical wire would not reach down to the new, shorter unit. But, he said, the job would still not be more than $1,000. That sounded great to me, and a couple days later, the team arrived to do the work. (Their arrival was delayed 45 minutes by another job, but Tim called to let me know, which I appreciated). The work was tricky, as anticipated. I didn't realize that the new unit, although shorter, was actually fatter than the old one, so they had to disconnect some tubing on the heat pump to squeeze it past. But it was done, and installed very neatly, and I really appreciated how tidy they were. The team cleaned the floor before leaving, and removed their shoes when they had to walk on the carpet. Before leaving, Tim cheerfully answered several questions I had about water-heater maintenance. (Did you know that when you shut your water off you should also shut off the power to the water heater? I didn't.) Final bill was $975. This team also did several small plumbing jobs for me a couple years ago, and the experience was just as good. Excellent work, reasonable price, and a cheerful, friendly, helpful attitude. I highly recommend this team for all your plumbing work.

Tom is excellent. Professional and punctual. He took his time to discover the issue. Worked all options starting with cheapest and least time consuming. Worked his way up till we had to cut the pipe and get the clog out. Definitely would recommend and use them again.

Tim Lasco came out to fix a clogged bathtub drain that my husband could not fix. Golden rule came within 3 hours of my call and Tim was great. We are having them return to do other jobs needed to be fixed. I was given a discount when I told him I found his company through Angie's list that I did not ask for. Would highly recommend this plumbing service!

Excellent service, contacted them at end-of-day and they were here to perform repairs first thing the next morning. Extremely professional. Price was significantly less than a prior on-site quote for the same job. While they were here they did an additional small fix on our toilet as courtesy. They truly do work by the "Golden Rule"! Have used a number of plumbers in the area over the last 12 years, this was hands-down the best experience. Recommending to family and friends.

I was very pleased with the entire interaction. After emailing Golden Rule through Angie's List, I received a response almost right away. Two days later, Tim was at my house, right on time. I appreciated that Tim took careful notes, because he called my cell phone from his truck when he arrived, as planned. (For his safety, I wanted to make sure that our dogs were secure.) He took in all of the "pieces of the puzzle" and we had an answer with in a few minutes. He took the time to explain why the tub would leak with certain users and not others. Fortunately, he understands teenagers. Tim said he would send back another person within two hour to fix the problem, which is exactly what happened. He even offered to install the new shower head I thought I had. I mentioned an issue with our other shower and he offered to take a look. He gave me good advice on how to move ahead when we were ready. On a side note, when the other plumber finished up, his truck would not start. He was very concerned that he was blocking my car from getting out. I told him that if I needed to get out, I could easily go around him. It was nice that he was concerned. When I next went outside, the truck was gone, so everything worked out just fine. Tim is personable and professional. I can say with certainly that we have finally found a plumber that is a keeper.

This is an excellent company to work with... in fact I cannot believe I waited this long to write a review... the great reviews written about them are true and would use them again in a heartbeat. The bath was large enough to add a tub and was plumbed (incorrectly) for a tub or shower... GR had to jack hammer through the concrete to get to where a tub drain would go and they covered everything to try to keep the dust down... they were like a General Contractor for this job and other than us picking out and providing some of the components took care of everything else.

It was a bigger job than expected but the plumber finished the job that day.

For a year after we moved in, we continued to have recurring problems with the kitchen sink drain. I had snaked the sink several times, but the problem always seemed to come back. Golden Rule Plumbing figured out that the drain pipe from the sink was not sloped properly (actually sloped up in one section) which was causing our issues. Few days later, they came in, removed the section of pipe and replaced it with a new section which was clear and properly sloped. They were straightforward, clean and courteous during the entire process.

He knew what he was doing professional. He treated me with respects. I would use this group again. I really did like the respect and professionalism of the organization.
