Boswell's Tree Service

Boswell's set up an appointment to see the job very quickly and gave me a cost for the job and an estimate of when they would come that day. The work was done within the time frame given, and they were very responsive to our requests. There were some slight changes to the work and that was not a problem. Boswell's responded to our information about restrictions on where they could take their equipment in a very positive fashion. We would definitely hire Boswell's again to do work for us.

Great job. We will use them again.

I was on vacation and my neighbor told me that I lost a tree in my yard as a result of a thunderstorm. Naturally, I wen to Angie's list and emailed 3 or 4 of the higher ranked tree services in the area. Two of them got back to me the same day, Boswell's being one of them. The first guy told me I would be better off taking care of it myself because getting a crew out there involved a minimum that was more than he thought the job was worth (At least he was honest). But I wanted to get it done because it was a very hot July week and I didn't want the dead tree to kill the grass it was laying on. Boswell's came back with a very reasonable $150 for the job. I explained that I was out of town and he said no problem, I will leave a bill in your mailbox. When I got home I was happy to see they did a great job, left no mess, and gave me a 10% discount without me even asking ($135 final price). I am moving to West Chester and will certainly be using them for tree services in the near future.

Rob and his crew showed up right on time with all the right equipment. They did the agreed upon work in a very professional way. After the work was done, the crew spent time making sure the area was was cleaned up as well. If I need professional tree work done in the future, I will definitely call Boswell's Tree Service.

Rob was one of 3 companies that I had come out to give an estimate for the tree work at our new house. He provided me with a very fair quote and let me know that he would take care of a small stump that I had wanted to take out at no extra cost since they would already have their equipment out there. I was very pleased with his punctuality for the estimate as well as his professionalism. He understands how to run his business and did a good job explaining how the process would work and what I should expect. One thing that really sold me is that Rob told me he would be on the job himself, not just have one of his crews there doing work. Call me nostalgic, but I really like knowing that the owner of the company will be out there doing the work insuring the work is done properly. Rob arrived a few minutes early on the day that we had agreed the work would be started on. He did a walk through with me to make sure that we were both on the same page with what work was going to be done. After we did a quick walk through he and his team got right to work. By the time I got home from work that night a majority of the work was done. Once again, they arrived a few minutes early the following day and completed the job. Rob gave me a call to let me know they had finished and I went out to meet and pay him. Once I arrived we did a walk through and he explained the work that he had done and made sure that it was completed to my satisfaction. I was very happy with the work preformed and made sure to get a few extra business cards so that I could recommend him to anyone I knew looking to have tree work done.

Called Rob for an estimate - he came right away - offered the 10% discount when I mentioned Angie - I had not evn asked about it yet.. The men came the following week - removed three huge pine trees - left the area better than it had been.

Things went well. I was given Boswell's name as an alternative to Rick's Tree Service for which I had purchased a coupon online. A representative for Rick's came out to do an estimate...In all fairness he indicated that taking the job for just removal of a branch from my roof would not be cost effective for either me or his company. He would have to dispatch a bucket truck with crew - minimum fee - approximately $400-$450..The main deterrent for me had been roof height and my age as far as removing the branch myself. He suggested that I request a refund which he would gladly back and that I ask for recommendations for the name of a company that typically handled smaller jobs. My request was granted by Angie's List immediately. I was sent an e-mail that included Boswell's Tree service as well as Handyman contractors in general. I chose Boswells. I sent an e-mail to Boswells after hours on a Saturday and received an immediate reply as well as a follow up phone call. Wow ! I was told that someone would be out on Monday morning by 9am to give me an estimate. Once Mr.Boswell arrived he agreed to simply remove the branch as I had an extension ladder readily available. Prior to starting the job he quoted $100...Once he had completed the removal...he walked around my property to do a visual safety and maintenance inspection. (My property is relatively heavily wooded). Recommendations were made for future trimming, brush removal and modest tree removal and the beginnings of a plan for maintaining tree health. I was told that I would receive a written reminder of our conversation and a quote ( approximately $2,000) to implement the plan...This could be done with an initial $1,000 payment and a 2nd payment of $1,000 at a later agreed upon date. I am in the process of examining my budget capacity so that I may properly respond to Mr.Boswell's offer...Angie's List did a wonderful job of helping me find the professional I needed for the work at hand..and with finding someone with whom I can establish an ongoing trusted relationship...knowing that the work will be done well and at a fair price.

I called Rob on the basis of the 40+ A grades here, and I was glad I did. I thought the estimate was quite reasonable. Rob asked me where I got his name and he gave me a 10% discount for Angie's list. They got here when they said they would and were complete and thorough, including grinding the black locust stump. They were very considerate of my neighbor and in taking down the black locust took great pains (greater than I would have) not to drop the limbs in the garden below. I would definitely use Rob again and probably will within the next couple years for some additional work.

They were good and we would use them again. They cleaned up everything. I think their price was the same as everybody else.

Overall, it was a good experience. They showed up when they said they would and did a professional job.

Rob contacted me after I sent an email to his site. He showed up the next day to give me an estimate. We liked what he said he would do, so we hired him on the spot. He came promptly on the day for him to do his work. Along with his crew he started into work. They all worked until the project was finished. I was surprised at how fast he did the work. He cleaned up the debris from the trees, and ground it up before he left. My front yard was spotless. You would never believe anyone had been there. Rob did an excellent job. I need to have some bushes that need to be trimmed, but it cannot be done until late fall. I intend to have Rob come back so he can take care of them. His price was less than I had expected. Rob was very professional as well as being friendly. He did the job I asked him to do, and it looks great.

Phenomenal! Not only did Rob 'get' our sensibility regarding a desire for less is more in terms of pruning but that we also wanted a natural look, not a formal one. He responded with a great job. He really is an artist at this! The first day I was amazed at the difference and how good the trees looked. He finished up the second day and we were thrilled with how everything turned out. He went up personally into the larger trees to trim them and even hand-pruned some of the smaller trees. Rob and his crew were extremely professional and cleaned up the yard completely before leaving. His estimate was right on and very reasonable and he honored the Angies List discount coupon. Can't say enough good things about Boswell's Tree Service. Any work you need done in this area call them first! You won't need to make any other calls. Boswell's is that good. (We still can't get over how good our trees look now!)

I haven't had any work done yet. He called back right away and he came out when he said he would. He wanted $2,000 per tree and I am waiting to get another estimate to see if his price is pretty much in the ballpark. He had called back within the day. He explained exactly what he was going to do and what kind of equipment he had to bring out to do the job. He explained how it might or might not mess up the lawn. He was very professional.

Boswell's was very easy to work with. We have a tough schedule because of little ones. We were concerned about the chipper waking the kids during nap time. Boswell's was willing to work with our schedule. The trees were never professionally pruned and are about 10 years of age. There was a fair amount of crossover and limbs rubbing. The job was performed while I was at work. I come home to see well manicured healthy looking trees. No mess in the front yard. The guys did a really great job.

It was a good experience. They did a nice job. The price was within everybody else. It wasn?t outrageous but it wasn't cheap.

I would recommend him to others. I had to wait a little while, if there are emergency services they tend to those right away so I got bumped back a little bit but it was okay.

Prompt return call and estimate. Prompt service. They left my property spotless! All the sawdust was blown off of the decks, patios and driveway. They left the grounds cleaner than they found them. They also gave me an Angie's List discount. Best of all, I misread the contract and overpaid them, not realizing the that discount had not yet been deducted in the final balance. Mr. Boswell contacted me promptly to ensure we were all square financially. Prompt, professional, fairly priced and honest.

It went very well overall. Called and left a message for an estimate. Rob Boswell is the owner and called me back the next day to arrange an estimate. He was very good at explaining what should removed or pruned now and what could wait. His estimate was higher than the other two tree services, but he was relatively local and I wanted to have a company where the owner was onsite and not driving around giving out other estimates while his crew does the work. Rob arrived with his crew and the quality of the work was excellent. Rob is on site and both directing the job and working. I was very happy with the work and especially with how much attention he gave to clean up and that Rob was checking each job after it was finished. He clearly takes pride in his work and in his company. One important note is that you have to consider that Rob does all of the estimates and is on site for all jobs, so you have to be patient in terms of call backs and getting on his schedule. He is busy (that is a good sign) and you have to be flexible with scheduling. You can probably expect the price to be a bit higher than the large mega tree services---but I can say that it is worth it. I have a partially wooded lot, so I was looking for a dependable and high quality local company that I could call on a regular basis for routine and emergency work and Rob fits that bill.

Rob Boswell arrived on time for his initial appointment and listened carefully as we detailed the services we desired. His inspection of the large tree in our front yard confirmed our own fears that it was dying and posed a threat. On the spot he offered what we took to be a good price for removing the tree, removing a nearby hedge and trimming four other trees. There was some delay in having the work done since there had been a series of storms that had left many uprooted or damaged trees in the area. However, when we told him that we needed the work done by a certain date, he quickly arranged it. The crew arrived while we were away at work and when we returned the tree had been mostly removed and the hedge fully removed. The next morning the crew returned and quickly completed the rest of the work. It was quite an impressive performance of team work and efficiency. The crew then cleaned up all the residue and was gone by lunch. We were more than fully satisfied with the price, the work, and the professionalism with which it was completed. We will certainly use them again if the need arises.

On Thursday, June 24th 2010 a severe storm moved through the West Chester, PA region. On our property several trees were uprooted. I contacted Boswell's and Rob Boswell called me and visited the property the same day. Because the tree leaning on the storage shed was a hazard Mr. Boswell gave us expedited service. The day of the work he was on site supervising and working.

We originally asked for a quote to take down 4 large trees on our property as well as grind out the stumps and many existing stumps on the property. He also was going to trim back a small hemlock. Rob gave us a great quote for that work. However, we decided only to have 3 of the trees removed. Rob called the night before to confirm our appointment and he called me as soon as he arrived the next morning. He did a great job and cleaned up all the debris from the tree removal. He also trimmed a rhodadenron that had grown lopsided because it had been blocked by the large trees.

Very pleasant on the phone. Came out within days for an estimate. Very congeniel and professional, however, wanted to take off much more than I would have liked. And the price was on the high side.On the plus side,he stated that he could have the work done within the week. I opted not to hire this company mainly for the price, and was afraid that too much would be removed. I would however, conact them for future jobs.

Was a great service overall. Would definitely use again and recommend.

Rob Boswell arrived with his crew on the date promised, one and a half weeks later. They arrived early in the morning, and worked steadily until the job was completed in the afternoon. They brought equipment that enabled them to perform safely and efficiently: a truck with a high bucket so there was no climbing involved, a wood chipper that handled massive branches. I was impressed with the skill of the treeman who used the bucket to first rope the branches, then cut them in a controlled manner. The crew cleaned up all of the fallen branches totally. Rob even used the bulldozer to smooth out the area afterwards and make it look nice.I was totally satisfied with their professionalism and the price and I would recommend Boswell's Tree Service without reservation.
