It took me almost 2 years to find a contractor to do glass block in a basement window well where water was coming in. I found D. Karpel Construction thru Angi.com. Mr. Karpel contacted me within 1 hour. A superior contractor. Figured out the problem and in less than 2 days had the job done. A job extremely well done. He is very highly recommended.

I had Three other estimates he was quick, correct price and kept me informed of the job. I would recommend him highly to anyone who ask.

Desmond installed glass block in the basement window well to replace a leaking casement window. He quickly returned my call for an estimate and gave me a quote upon inspection. He installed the glass block perfectly along with waterproofing and even did an extra coating of mortar on the outside sill so that water would slope away from the window. The work was done expertly. I would highly recommend Desmond - he is very nice person, knowledgeable and performs stellar work.

Desmond was responsive to my initial phone call, came to my house to measure and completely explained the process of installation of glass block windows in my basement. I wanted the installation of a glass block window with a hopper vent and another glass block window CUSTOMIZED to receive a vent that we made which was similar to a dryer vent. Desmond took our thoughhts to his window manufacturer, then followed with our CUSTOMIZED VENT to have it incorporated into a the glass block window. His window manufacturer did a perfect job in making the window to our specifications. Once the windows were made, Desmond came and installed them as planned. His work was quality in nature, reasonably priced and completed in a timely manner. Without a doubt, I would highly recommend Desmond for window replacement to anyone!!!

Desmond estimated replacing 2 basement windows with glass block. He was prompt to reply, appeared on time and gave a fair estimate. Materials were ready within the timeframe he gave. This was not an easy job, as one window was under a deck. Desmond had to crawl under the deck on his belly to get the job done without complaint. The results was great. More light into the basement, and no water issues with recent rains. I would highly recommend Desmond for his knowledge, experience, can-do attitude, and calm demeanor.
