Description of Work: Bachman's quoted me twice. I have a bay window with a roof, and the main roof itself. I got two quotes. The first said, and I quote it directly from their quote: Install new rubber sealant to front bay window; Install new rubber sealant to top main flat; All trash & debris cleaned up & removed from job site. Proposed cost $1,880.00. Inspect main roof; Apply roof cement to all areas as needed All Trash & debris cleaned up & removed from job site Proposed cost $1,100.00. $2,980.00 and no guarantees. I told them when they followed up that according to that agreement, they could have showed up, applied a dab of silicone, and asked for their $3,000. I also told them I'd never sign an agreement like that. The salesman blamed it on the office help. To make a long story short, if the other roofing contractors I'd contacted were correct, and I had a problem with the mortar between the bricks and the bricks themselves Bachman's "fix" would have changed nothing. And the sales person said they were going to replace the roof over the bay window automatically. That roof was replaced in 2006 with a rubber roof with a 10 year guarantee. I guess they didn't want me to think about that. The second quote only talked about the bay roof and said nothing about the main roof. Since, according to 2 other roofers nothing was wrong with either roof I guess that would have worked out for Bachman's.

The were very professional finished both roofs cleaned the entire area and were on their wayby the middle of the afternoon It was a pleasure to watch the process.

+ -1 moreThey did okay, but we ended up going with another company. They were responsive and they did come out and check the roof. We got better warranty and few other things with the other company and so we went with them. They showed up when they said they would show up.

+ -1 moreI had a slate roof that was in really bad shape, with broken and leaking shingles. It is a tricky roof because on one side it is very high and few people want to work on it. Owner gave me a repair estimate. They came on time. Did the work. They were very unhappy to note that the roof had at least another 80 years of life. They matched the shingles - (I really wasn't expecting them to match 80 yr old slate shingles!) Did not go over their estimate!!!!! Over a year later, there are no leaks - so I guess they did a great job. Had they wanted to, they could have taken me for a ride, but didn't. Highly recommend!
Description of Work: Repair and/or replace all broken slate shingles Water tighten with mastic all joints and flashing Assess condition of 80 year old roof.

We were told that a crew was working near by and would be able to be here in the afternoon. By early afternoon they came and determined the problem and we had the work done. We also called two other companies and both were not able to come until the following week. We are extremly happy with the sevice provided.
Description of Work: We had a leak from where the car port roof met the house. The flashing had to be fixed and caulked.

+ 0 moreThey were responsive and listened to my history of using more than 10 different contractors over the past 15 years and never had the problem solved. They offered a backup plan should the coating not work. They applied the coatings within a half hour of each other and despited many torrential rainstorms there has been no leaking. I have my fingers crossed.
Description of Work: applied a clearcoat 2 times to the stone chimney.

+ -1 moreThey did what they said they were going to do when they said they would. I had a little minor problem but they came back and fixed that beautifully. I thought the price was probably decent but I had nothing to compare it to. I was very disappointed this year when they took 4-5 days to get back to me.
Description of Work: I used Bachman for a new entire roof. I tried to use them this year for siding but they were slow in getting back to me and I couldn't wait so I had to move on.

+ -1 moreI have no complaints except for the fact that they said they had a mason that would look at my stucco and they never came to even do an estimate.
Description of Work: They replaced my roof, which was 20 years old and re-shingled a while ago on 1400 sq. ft house. Went smoothly for the most part...had some rotted wood, which was understandable, and they told me the cost and asked to proceed. They did everything in a day and half, cleaned up nicely, and were still very affordable.

+ -1 moreCalled and scheduled an appointment for a free estimate within the same week. Showed up promptly for appointment and gave a reasonable estimate. After I signed the contract, they said they would notify me within two weeks a day before they were going to come out to replace the roof. The replacement date of the roof depended on the weather and other projects they already had lined up. Once they called and gave me a date, Bachman came on time and replaced the roof within 4 hours and cleaned up all the mess. They also dealt with my neighborhood association and took care of all the details. I even asked them to hammer in a lose board on the side of my house and they were happy to do it. Very fast and prompt service with no hassle. If I ever need another roof, I would definitely hire Bachman again.

+ -1 moreThe work was started within a few days of the estimate. One day for the cellar doors and another for the roofing. The guys doing the worked looked kind of young, but they were thorough and meticulous. They also cleaned everything up after the projects were complete.
Description of Work: Replaced roofing on back porch, sealing the connection between my porch roof and the neighbor's outside wall to stop a water leak they were having. They also repaired and capped my outside cellar doors.

This company uses slate hooks and does not nail the replaced slates. I have decided to make this company my exclusive roofer- to come in fall and spring to clean out the gutters and inspect my slate roof. I am very pleased to recommend them.
Description of Work: Chuck arrived to provide an estimate for cleaning the gutters, but was prepared to do them immediately if I agreed on the cost. This was a big concern off my mind as I lost my 30+ year roofer.
