Rain delays, had to finish another project today, will have everyone there tomorrow. Dug out the footer, had it poured and walls blocked while the basement was not dug out. Had to tear our a basement window and blocks to drive the front end loader in and out of the basement to remove the dirt. There were several issues with the Code Enforcement Officer during his tenure and afterwards.He keep harping that the house was going up according to code and how great it was going to be, but he completely overlooked the fact that the Building Code represents the minimum standards for housing construction. After he was fired we carefully selected other sub-contractors for each phase of the remaining work, or had friends/family help out [ie; paint]. Final cost of the house was well in excess of $200,000. We have lived in the house 3 1/2 years now, and every few months we find evidence of something else that was done in a shoddy fashion.
