They didn't do a very good job of keeping me informed. I had called prior the week of 1/5/2015 and they were supposed to follow up with me via phone the next day to let me know the status of the shipment. The last status I had from them was an email dated 12/28/2014 stating: "We are getting closer to your anticipated delivery date! Dispatch should be contacting the consignee within the next few business days. If for some reason they do not, please contact our office and we would be happy to contact dispatch on your behalf to get an update on the status of your shipment." They didn't call back. The next thing I know I'm at a funeral out-of-state and get a phone call from the shipper they contracted with asking me to call and arrange a delivery date. That was at 5PM Eastern time. On the following Tuesday (1/20/2015) the shipper shows up at my door with the furniture, which I couldn't take at that time. Transit Systems was less expensive than some of the others, but I would have been willing to pay more to remain informed of the status of my delivery. Today, I tried to call them and was informed that "Customer Service is not available at this time." Huh?

They were very good about the way they packed and all that. They were very careful and I was very impressed with the way they packed since it hasn't arrived in South Carolina yet I don't know what to tell you. I can't report about the consequences of the move. I know that they did a very good job here in Austin of wrapping every piece of furniture. It was a dining table, six chairs and a buffet. They were very careful about how they wrapped it and packed it into the van, but they said it was going to go to their warehouse in Dallas and then when they enough to go to South Carolina they would be taking it to South Carolina so I can't tell full report on that. They were very careful about packing antique furniture. They came sooner than they first tell they could so their responding to pick time was very good. I would use them from this end in the future. I don't know what kind of condition that furniture when it arrives in a week or two.

Packed up an old cabinet and transported it to Florida. The 2 men were prompt and packed it quickly. Polite and friendly.

I originally ordered a higher level of service than needed. The sales rep allowed my to downgrade the service which made it much more economical. There was a one day delay in the pickup, however I was not under a tight schedule, so there was no problem with that. The delay was not related to my changing the type of service.

'Provider picked up clock on time - in fact was a little early which was good. Packed up the clock and continued on his route to pick up other partial load items from other shippers. This mover was routed along the east coast so the clock went to a warehouse in Maryland to await another truck going west. The clock arrived in Denver a few days before Thanksgiving and was delivered on the Saturday after. The crew delivering were most helpful in setting up the clock and getting it level. Clock arrived in good condition. The whole experience was good from beginning to end - professional, timely and courteous. Transit Systems, as a broker, did a great job coordinating and choosing other trucking companies to fulfill this move.

I would highly recommend this company. They are perfect for a small move, college students, etc. I called them for information and spoke with someone very helpful. They immediately emailed me a quote. I was told that we only needed a few days notice for the items to be picked up at the requested address. We contacted them about 3 days out, and they arrived at the specified time. We were kept informed along the way. They gave us 2 days notice and set up a time for delivery. The items arrived on time, in good condition. The shipper and driver were very professional and courteous. I am so glad I found this company on Angies List. We will use them again in the future.Very reliable and professional.

No problems that I know. THe piano got delivered and myh grand children are now learning how to play it.

Excellent service! Movers were courteous, hardworking and efficient. 2 1/2 rooms of furniture were moved from a 2nd and 3rd floor condo into the truck and delivered to Philadelphia and nothing was damaged. My daughter was notified in advance of the delivery date and on that day the driver called with a time. Highly recommend for long distance shipping.

The two Farr moving men called at 5PM exhausted, 5 hours late, after driving nonstop across the country and having moved a client all morning and afternoon. They said they couldn't get their 18 wheeler into town! I found them a Walmart 15 miles away and reminded them about the shuttle they were to bring. By 7 PM it was far too late to begin. I also found them an affordable motel 10 miles away. They began a day late. The crates were absolutely terrible and pieced together with old, even rotten wood, leaving gaping holes. We had to completely remake one of them. They forgot their tools in the rig and did not have enough blankets and pads. I, a 67 year old female, helped wrap and place the antiques in the crates, provided our own tools and hand cart, as they had forgotten that, too. I worked with the man who had no experience. After I gave them lunch, as they didn't bring any, they sent me of out for more packing boxes and tape. I didn't know then that the man in our dining room packed absolutely every single thing, even though I had segregated everything with neon stickers and told him ahead of time what was specifically to go. In the end I was charged for 4 extra large glassware and china boxes. This job took a full day. The move was from Calif. to Boston. In all, our goods were moved 6 times. House to shuttle, shuttle to van,van to warehouse,warehouse to van, van to another small shuttle and into the house. We just held our breath for the month it took to arrive. In the end...... The furniture damage was minor, except for two broken mirrors and frames. Glassware and china made it okay, lost just a few pieces. Many sterling silver and old pewter pieces were destroyed beyond repair because very heavy pieces were packed on top of them. Two boxes of antique Christmas ornaments, (mostly wooden) that I packed in heavy plastic storage crates, were completely crushed. They had to have been dropped. A very large sterling bowl was dented and the delivery movers said that it was among a few equally damaged items that had been rolling around the warehouse and never packed! The positive side was that the moving men really tried their best. Both teams were very nice, clean, and polite. Our moving experience has been that things always break, and to expect it. However, we thought we were hiring the very best professionals. Did we follow up? No. We obtained insurance to cover a complete loss, in the event that the truck was in an accident. The damaged items cannot be replaced. Put into perspective, these are just things. But for all of us our things are important. That is why we take the care to move them and keep them with us. I wrote to TSI management, but never heard from them again.

It was a very stressful time. We were moving from New Mexico to Nevada and we understood the load would be picked up close to the 26th of the month and it could take 2 weeks. We were fine with that-had an air bed and a card table to keep with us until we moved out of our apartment on the 30th. Actually, the move came on the 22nd and it was going to arrive before we got to our destination, I got busy and found a storage place and with their help they stored the furnishings until we got there. It works when you realize you are hitching a ride and you don't have a set date. Plan for it, Also, I found using email rather than phone to connect with the company gets better results. I said I wouldn't use the company again because it was too much stress for me and I'm in my 70s--other people will handle it differently, The movers that actually moved the furniture did an outstanding white glove job taking it and putting it in the storage. We did have to pay for storage and another in town mover when we arrived. All in all the price was fair.

I have no complaints. Kathy was a joy. Chris and Josh were awesome. I was fortunate enough to have the same guys that picked up, drop off. Nothing was broke, everything was on time and completely professional. It ended up being $2500 more but I had an extra 2000lbs then calculated. They made my across country move pleasant.

They did a good job except for 2 thing that to me were very big. they did not call and let me know when they would arrive. Number 2 we realized there was an item they didn't deliver. it took 6 months and several call backs and emails to get it delivered to us.

Transit Systems picked up a dining room set in Chicago and delivered in California. The movers themselves were very professional. They estimated 3-4 weeks for delivery. We received the shipment in 6 weeks. I was kept informed of the delays. Great movers with great cost (other moving companies want $1000 more). Just don't be in a rush.

For both the pickup and delivery, they arrived within the first 30 minutes of the window provided, which was beyond belief!!!! I was concerned at first at the pickup site because they showed up in a Penske rental truck without any form of company ID. Once they provided the computer print out of the work order, I was fine. They were very gentle with the piano and wrapped it very well. They explained the process to me, where it would go, when I might get it, and what to do with the tracking number. The relaxed me d provided piece of mind. On the delivery, the same thing occurred. They arrived 30 minutes within the window provided, placed the piano where I wanted it, and provided piece of mind. The service was excellent, and that is my understatement of the year!!! I would definitely recommend the company and their services!!! Thank you Transit Systems!!! Service went fine in Lincoln. I explained when booking and asked many times about delivery in California, person lived in apartment housing complex and I believed that the street up to the person's apartment were narrow. They assured me it would not be a problem and that they would send smaller truck. Well that did not happen, they sent big truck and they unloaded at front of housing complex and this person had to put all the boxes and make several trips driving to her apartment. When I called and complained they said it wasn't their fault and would not at least compensate her for the inconvenience. It would have been more convenient to use a pod. I will never use them again.

I was really happy with my dealings with Transit Systems. The salesperson, Kathy, was friendly and helpful on the phone and through email. Transit Systems wound up giving me the lowest of three bids, and I was a little concerned that they contract with a third party to do the moving. But the shipment arrived exactly on time, and the two movers (who are based in North Carolina) could not have been nicer or more helpful. They delivered all my furniture without a scratch, unwrapped each one (the furniture was wrapped very well in padded blankets) and put it where I wanted it in the house. They also moved a big desk into another room so that the furniture being delivered would fit (and took two doors off their hinges so that we could move the desk). That was not included in the fee but they seemed happy to do it. The two guys were in and out of here quickly, and they did their jobs beautifully. I can't recommend Transit Systems highly enough. Thanks so much for all you did.

No problems -- delivered safely. The driver didn't seem to care about the chest and that concerned us, but no damage was done.

Everything went as planned. The boxes arrived safely. We are pleased with our experience and would use this company again.

The chest and chair are finally here in New Mexico. They were picked up on August 14th, and delivered September 21st. This is the reason for the D for punctuality. The furniture is here and in good shape, they carried the furniture up to the second floor without complaint. Transit systems did always pick up the phone and try to answer questions. One time a return call with status was promised but never happened. The next day I called again and Robert answered, apologized and did follow up and provide us status including calling us back a few times. You do not receive tracking numbers or have any way to check status other than calling. The contract says to allow 1 to 4 weeks for delivery, I had assumed it would take a couple of weeks. It ended up being closer to 6 weeks. We were called Sept 19th to schedule delivery for Sept 21st. They arrived about 4 hours before the scheduled time, we were home so that was ok. With the long delay we were starting to think the furniture was lost or ruined or something and we were being given the run around. But it is here now and fine. If we had been told it would or could take almost six weeks we would not have had to worry. The price paid is substantially less than a competitors quote we received.

Shipping an antique china cabinet with a double curved glass door (which was already cracked) and curved glass sides is nerve wracking enough, but the guys who picked it up described exactly how they would crate it which relieved some of my anxiety. The original customer service guy I spoke with gave me rather wide ranges of pickup times, but when I explained that I needed it picked up by a certain day, they gave me a three day range (which was fine) and called before those dates with a specific date and time. The pick-up was dot on that time. They were efficient, friendly and did everything I asked them to do. When they first quoted the job to me, I was a little concerned about the price, but I shopped around and found everyone I talked to was within the same ballpark and did NOT include the special crating that Transit Systems was including. I would definitely use them again.

Everything was perfect from start to finish. Mike and Mike were efficient, courteous and provided excellent service. Boxes and furniture were securely wrapped and handled. They were a real "team" moving items out of the house and into the truck. We will definitely use Transit Systems again. Thank you!

We had a good experience in terms of the initial call and pickup. The pickup and packing was very professional. However, after multiple failed calls and lack of communication, the package finally arrived in Washington State 6 weeks later. The original estimate was 4 weeks from the time of pickup. The package and family-owned china cabinet arrived with two of the four glass panels broken. Additionally, we paid an extra $300 to have the cabinet "crated", but this was basically a 1 x 4 frame around the cabinet and offered no protection to the sides and front of the unit. Terrible communication. Terrible quality. Terrible follow-through. Because of our trust in this company, we now have a cabinet that has been in our family since the mid 1800's damaged, and it will never be the same.

I made the purchase on eBay and contacted Transit Systems to setup a pickup date from the seller in Florida and a delivery date to my home in Virginia. From the first phone call, Carol, at Transit Systems was very helpful. She provided a quote for the shipment over the phone and I made the payment. The price for the shipment did not change when the actual shipment was made, even though the weight of the bookcase was somewhat more than the initial estimate. Transit Systems engaged RickShips to do the pickup and delivery. Rickships made quick contact with the seller and arrived at her home as scheduled. Both, the seller and I were impressed with the timeliness of service, the politeness of the pickup and delivery men, and the care that was given in wrapping the piece for shipping. The bookcase was first shipped to High Point, NC and then scheduled for delivery two weeks later in Virginia. The men brought the bookcase into my home, unwrapped it and reinstalled the backing and shelves which had been removed for the move. There was no damage done to the bookcase. I would not hesitate to use your services again. The seller also said that she would consider using your services in the future.
