I called Transit Systems for a quote well in advance and was very pleased with the professionalism. I needed the pickup to be after a date when I was visiting my brother in Florida, so we could decide what items to ship. The communications of both pickup and delivery to Rochester, NY (even though by two different truckers) exceeded expectations. At the receiving end, I was called a week before delivery, the night before delivery, and by the driver at his previous stop to make sure I was available and ready. Despite bad weather, they arrived as scheduled. All items were treated carefully; I was particularly impressed that they did not put weight on fragile legs of a particularly large buffet as the were uprighting it and moving into place. For what I needed to do, with a flexible timeframe, Transit Systems was a good choice. Even if I could have moved the heavy pieces myself, which I couldn't, I could not have rented a truck, paid for fuel, paid for lodging on the trip, etc. for even close to what this move cost. Very cost-effective.

We shipped 8 large boxes we packed ourselves from Houston, Texas to Fresno, California. The boxes contained musical equipment (electric bass guitar, acoustic guitar, studio monitors, etc) and various household items. Everything arrived in perfect condition. It was picked up on Friday and arrived in Fresno the next Wednesday. The driver took our shipment and shrink wrapped everything on a pallet to keep it from being damaged. We had a great experience with Transit Systems and will use them again. Everyone from the online contact to the drivers were professional and extremely helpful.

They did well. No issues at all. Will definitely use in the future.

I had a hard time deciding which company to use for this move and joined Angie's List just to get recommendations on who to trust with this valuable furniture. I had a very good experience with Transit Systems. My furniture was well taken care of and arrived in excellent condition. The truck drivers were pleasurable to work with at loading and unloading. The shipment took a little longer to get here than I expected, but I was not in a rush, so that was not an issue for me. The customer service people on the phone were very responsive, courteous and helpful. They seem to work with a number of small family owned businesses with which they have long relationships, so while shipments are consolidated, they aren't given out to totally random people.

The move went very well. The pickup was slightly behind schedule due to traffic issues in Atlanta (understandable) but we were kept well informed of the situation and the slight delay (a matter of about 4 hours). Our items were wrapped in protective material very carefully and handled with care. The transit time was within the time frame we had been told to expect. Two of the smaller items were temporarily mis-directed but were located and delivered within an appropriate amount of time. I've moved many times in my life, from coast to coast whole house moves ton inter-city apartment moves. I considered the temporarily wayward items to not be a serious issue because I understand that the nature of small lot moves like ours necessarily involves quite a bit of handling during the process as a truck goes around its route picking up and dropping of small sets of items along the way. For a move as long as ours, there also may be a transfer from truck to truck at a hub which dispatches trucks to routes covering different sections of the country. Transit Systems representatives were highly professional, responsive, and considerate from beginning to end. I highly recommend this company and will, without question, call on them again should I require such services in the future.

We planned this move in July after my mom passed away. We took pictures and emailed them to the representatives. As time passed, our family's need changed so we changed our lists!!! The representatives understood and helped us through the process! We needed to ship a car and they helped us with that too!!! Delivery of the items has occurred and we are waiting to receive the car!!

I called for an estimate. We worked out the details over a few days. They packed the sewing machine as it was a fairly expensive, insured item. All arrived safely on the east coast. The entire process took one month.

There were no surprise charges. Everyone kept their word; I will use this company/RickShips again and recommend them too. Items were received without a scratch.

We had to move some very fragile antique furniture to move to the east coast. My brother decided on this company because of the reviews, but after he spoke to them on the phone, he was convinced this was his best shot at getting things there safely because immediately after describing the furniture over the phone, and without even asking, the order person indicated they would like to crate 2 pieces of furniture, and that was music to our ears! The packers were very thorough and did a great job, not to mention polite. The crates came pre-built specifically to the dimensions my brother gave over the phone. We also sent photos to them and they decided to crate one piece of furniture in 2 crates because it could be easily dismantled into 2 pieces. The packers were so careful to protect the furniture inside the crates with blankets and foam...it was a nice snug fit. In the end, I realized my brother forgot to mention there was a small chair that went with the one piece of furniture that did not need crating, and they wrapped it up and put it on the truck without asking me for anything more. I was not at the receiving end, but my brother said he was most pleased with the delivery and the care they took unpacking and moving the furniture into his house. All the furniture arrived safely and in great condition....not a smidgen of damage, and the added chair arrived too. One thing to note is that TSI contracts with a company called Plycon, and perhaps more, but whatever, it worked just great for us and I am glad the family furniture is safe with family for another generation! I am sorry someone else had a bad experience with them, and it seems TSI has worked hard to rectify the situation, but I would definitely use them again. And if you are really worried about your furniture, pay the extra to have it crated because it was really worth it for us.

EXCELLENT! All aspects of my moving experience with Transit Systems was handled in a very professional manner. From customer service, to being properly informed of the whereabouts of my furniture and the total length of time the move would take, to the cost estimate (right on target; actually came to a little less than I was quoted), to the professional delivery of the furniture, Transit Systems surpassed my highest expectations. The movers were so polite and helpful and right on time when they said they would be here. Way to go, Transit Systems, and thanks so much!!

It was great! I needed to move only a mattress and box spring in a specific time frame. I haven't had a good experience with moving companies before and was concerned. The reviews for TSI are good and accurate! The initial call to set up the service was easy and quick. Matt was thorough and helpful, providing information about a box supplier for the mattress/box spring. We set up aday for pick up and delivery, paid and done. It was so easy, I called a few weeks later (I had set this up about 2 months in advance) to verify all the information in case I had missed something. On pick up day, the mover arrived within the window of time - it is a wide window. We were lucky to be on the early side of his route. Two days later, I received a call from the AL dispatch - the mattress was there and ready to deliver - early! They kindly held the delivery for an extra day until we arrived in town. Drop off was smooth. Read the details - be sure to choose the right service for you. I chose the option to do it all myself which means you might need additional help because the drivers don't do the work. Saves money! Overall, great experience for reasonable cost. The mattress was not damaged although the box was slightly torn - buy the plastic bag to add extra protection within the box.

The 2 men who picked up the piece and the 2 men who delivered the piece were careful and attentive.

this company was rated well on Angie's List and the BBB and advertised on the web that they had been in the shipping business for more than 20 years and commonly shipped "high value" and "antique" items across the country safely with a high success rate. this is why they were chosen. I was happy with the bid process and the follow up process. they were able to meet the seller at his storage unit at a convenient time and place to pick up the couches which I was pleased with. They didn't do a great job with communication and "missed" the initial transfer date from the warehouse in CA to the truck. I needed to call them to find out when it was coming and when it would be in MN and they didn't know. It came the next day. The in-state delivery co. (who was also paid to move them from the truck into my home) called Transit Systems within 20 mins. of delivery once we found the damage. I also called them, took pictures and started the claims process. They have offered me $200 which was what they "paid" the subcontractor in CA -- this is not even close to the repair costs for two pieces of higher end leather. They were paid to blanket wrap the pieces with corner padding and it is listed on the bill of lading. The lack of proper padding, blanket wrapping and positioning the couches "on end" is 100% directly their fault and is unacceptable.

Everything went fine. As long as you're not in a hurry. Took six weeks to complete the move. Other than that, good quality move and nice people. I move frequently and have had problems in the past with other movers. This company took care of my belongings and I didn't have to worry about questionable workers.

The items were delivered on time, in excellent shape and the service was very courteous. Everyone that I came in contact with in this company was extremely professional. Definitely recommend them and I would not hesitate to use them again.

If I could rate this company with an AAA grade I would. I was impressed with their helpfulness and professionalism. They quoted me a price that was well below other companies. They explained in detail what I needed to do and what they would do to help me. Everything went smoothly and the boxes arrived in Arizona in excellent condition. I would highly recommend this company to anyone who needs to ship belongings nationwide.

Everything went smoothly. Desk was picked up on time and delivered in good condition. They were courteous and professional on the phone. The quote was detailed and accurate. Their quoted price was significantly lower than other quotes I received. They might be a transportation broker, because I noticed that the actual delivering carrier (when I signed the delivery receipt) was a different name. That was ok, because the desk was picked up, packed, and delivered speedily and safely. The people who picked up and the people who delivered were friendly and helpful. Correspondence, both by phone and email, was efficient and accurate.

Transit Systems Inc. contacted me the same day after I emailed them from Angie's List. Kevin was wonderful to work with. I gave Kevin the approximate weight of my load and discussed what the inventory consisted of. Kevin called me back the dame day and advised me that the load was to small for them to ship and I could get a better price by going with another company and then followed up with an email saying much the same. I emailed Kevin back to see if he could recommend another company. His response to me was full of links and information. Do's and don'ts what to watch out for and so on. It is refreshing to find such an honest and helpful company and Transit Services definitely worth a call!!

Transit Systems quoted a price that seemed reasonable but I did not comparison shop. The key factor was that they could make the pickup when I needed it done. I also consulted Angie's List and saw good reviews, so I felt comfortable with the selection. They picked up in Tennessee and delivered in California. Transit Systems apparently subcontracts with different companies to make the actual pickups and deliveries. MicroShip, Inc. of Villa Park, IL was the moving company for my order, and Transit Systems put me in touch with a MicroShip driver named Brian. Brian was outstanding, letting me know where he was and when he might arrive. He was available by mobile phone when I needed to speak with him, and he was very professional. My two pieces of furniture arrived in good condition two weeks after pickup. There are many reports about moving company scams online, so it is good to have Angie's List members as credible sources.

The service was excellent. I had used them to help my daughter move in the past as well and felt the same way. They are totally honest as far as with pricing of the service. The workers are very meticulous, and they do exceptional work. I would highly recommend them.

My mother had a stroke two years ago and is confined to a wheelchair so wanted to clear more space in her house to maneuver. I had admired these items over the years, and she decided to ship them. I was visiting so went on line to check out movers on Angie's List and Transit responded to my request for an estimate promptly. Since we were in no hurry for the move to take place, we made arrangements for them to notify us of the pick up date and agreed that they would call 24-48 hours before delivery in Plantation. I was not there for the pick up by=ut my mother reported that they did an excellent job of packing the bookshelves and the other items with great care. She was relieved to know that they were in good hands. On delivery in Plantation, I was not there, but my husband reported that they arrived when they said they would and unpacked everything carefully, placing the items where he requested. They also moved back furniture that he had moved to make way for this delivery. From everything I have seen about this company, they are not only reasonably priced but take great pride and care in their work.

Overall it was smooth and I would use this company again. The movers did a great job of wrapping my grandmother's dining set, and it arrived safely in St. Paul about 2 weeks later. There was one small glitch at delivery that postponed it for a day, but Tom was right on top of it and fixed the problem. It was great to know that they were willing to work with us until the furniture was in place in its new home.

Picked up cedar chest and delivered as promised within two weeks.
