Tom did an excellent job in expanding my 1920's house. The addition was a 1st floor and 2nd floor addition including a family room, half bath, coat closet and master bedroom, closet and bath, and new laundry room. He was highly collaborative with my architect and me, and always forward thinking and solution oriented. I love the addition and the way it blends seamlessly with my existing house! I also enjoyed the process and dealing with Tom personally as well as the trades he employed.

We were out of the country while the work was done at the house. That was great for us and Tom. Also we missed the "winter" of 2014 :) Tom was excellent in working with us in the planning and procurement stage and even went tile and fixture shopping with us. So, when we left for Italy the plans were all set and the fixtures were purchased. As Tom performed work he would advise us by e-mail and would also send videos (posted on YouTube) of work in different stages. So, we were able to "see" what was being done. That was terrific When we returned at the end of May, we were very please with the results. There were a couple of minor points (which is normal) that had to be addressed. We finalized that list in June. The major items have been fixed (we liked a different mirror), However we are still waiting for a couple of details to be corrected. Yes we did pay the full amount in May, before we returned home. Tom is that trustworthy! Jim Glasgow

I asked to schedule an appointment for an estimate. He responded that I was too far away, even though I'm in a county he claims as his service area, and I'm less than 20 miles away.

I left messages asking to discuss projects I have. My calls were never returned, i expected a bit more professionalism, at least a call from an assistant saying "we are not interested" would have been good.

We are coming up on Day 25 since this contractor was in my home. He was recommended to me by a friend who knew someone who had used Mr. Horgan's company for a kitchen project, so he came highly recommended. I checked Angie's List and the referrals were all glowing. I felt positive about contacting his company. After his visit to my home, about 10 days later, I submitted an email on his company's website, asking when I could expect to hear from him regarding this portion of the process. I indicated that I wasn't trying to rush him, but that I was wondering when I might expect to receive an email regarding the aforementioned information of which he spoke. I thought that was the appropriate approach. No response. So, after a few days I thought perhaps he didn't see the website inquiry, so I proceeded to leave a voicemail for him. Again, I just inquired about how long this first step in the process would take and could he please call me at his convenience. Nothing. Just the sound of crickets. Without a doubt, my kitchen project is not going to be a McMansion-type kitchen. So perhaps when he saw the scope of the project, he decided he wasn't interested and just took the measurements, pretended like he was interested, but decided on the spot that he wasn't going to get back to me. Quite honestly, I would rather have had him tell me that up front. That would have been the professional way in which to handle the situation. But to pretend like he was interested and then not return calls was completely rude, in my opinion. He was unprofessional and if anyone ever asks for a kitchen referral from me, I will be certain to tell them who NOT to contact.
Description of Work: Returned my initial contact inquiry/request. Showed up (a little late, but that's OK because he was a bit lost in the general area), briefly listened to my project desires, and then quickly took some measurements, gave me a website to view, recommended a cabinet provider, told me he would send me a few drawings, told me the name of his contact person at the cabinet location, and then left. He told me he would email me the pertinent information/estimate/drawings, etc., shortly. When asked how far out he was committed to other projects, he indicated he wouldn't be able to start my project for 5 weeks. Fair enough. All was fine as far as I was concerned. But then nothing. Didn't hear from him ever again.

The service was excellent. He is very easy to work with. He has great suggestions. He is a carpenter by trade so the carpentry work was excellent. It was all custom made. He is very responsive to requests. He is reasonably priced for what you get. He stuck to the budget. He came up with a very creative idea. He custom made our windows because they did not need to be functional. He saved us a lot of money with cost saving ideas.
Description of Work: He built a pool cabana for our pool.

The rollers on a very heavy, 94 inch high Pella sliding door to the patio had broken down. The door was from the early 70s. Unfortunately, no easy way to replace the rollers. Tom Horgan came by as scheduled and confirmed the need for replacement of the whole unit. He then sent over three of his men to exchange this kitchen/patio door with the identical door in the dining room which is never used and slides perfecly. That got us up and going so again we could access the patio from the kitchen. I'll need to decide whether I want to now replace the whole window/door unit or simply continue to use the one from the dining room. His charge for $90 was most fair given it takes two, preferably three men to dismount and move the doors

We enjoyed working with Tom on our kitchen window replacement project. He was very helpful in getting window estimates and helping us to get some price reductions from the window suppliers. The project went very smoothly, and we are very happy with the new windows. They look great, and we are confident that we won't have any wood rot issues since the windows are aluminum clad and were installed properly.
Description of Work: We had Tom Horgan replace nine windows in our kitchen that had wood rot. We chose Pella windows to replace the rotten ones. Tom arranged for Pella to come out to give us a price quote for the windows and helped us with the window ordering process. Once the windows arrived, Tom and another fellow spent a week taking out the old windows and installing the new ones. He did carpentry work around the new windows, replacing wood trim with Aztec trim (which is impervious to water). The amount listed above was the cost of the labor and does not include the cost of the windows. We were very happy with Tom's work, and the new windows look great.

The job was started on time and was finished more quickly than we expected. The workers were neat and courteous.
Description of Work: We had our old bathroom remodeled to our exact expectations. The work was done promptly, orderly and within budget. Our front entry door needed repair and a new custom entry door lock was installed and was finished perfectly. The windows were supplied and installed and now draft free. They are easy for me to clean now with the pull down system. All the work performed by Thomas Horgan receive an A plus from me and wife.

Overall it went good. Starting with the Architect, Peter Batchler, he did the plans to exactly the way we wanted. Meetings with Township officials and engineers Tom did on schedule. The selections on from roofing shingles, windows and doors, plumbing fixtures, light fixtures, hardwood flooring, tile floors, custom cabinetry, granite counter tops, were all the best.
Description of Work: Built my house to plans, awesome, went very fast, that made it easy for us to move in on a timeline. His sub contractors and employees were very efficient too. The quality of work is excellent.
