Brett is a down to earth and relatable guy. I've worked with other realtors in the past who had the air of "your lucky to be working with me" - this is not the case with Brett. I sincerely felt like Bret was truly invested in finding us the best forever home and was not just in it for the commission check. He is a fiduciary agent. In succinct terms, Brett knows what he's doing and his knowledge, experience and connections provide a true advantage in a competitive market. He is very detail-oriented and he provided valuable insight during the home tours. He pointed out the positive attributes, potential risks and hidden gems in the homes we toured. I would like to thank Brett Furman and his team for their help and expertise during the recent sale of my mother's home. Brett and Doug met with us to discuss the details of listing the house and setting the sale price. They did their homework before our meeting and had plenty of facts and figures as well as information on comparable properties in our area on hand. First, we wanted a Realtor who was already successful. Second, a Realtor who was responsive, straightforward, and easy to understand. Third, someone who would drive the process for us…set the plan…take the lead…make things happen…follow up…close the deal. We called Brett Furman because of his high rating and excellent reviews on Angie’s list. As well, Brett sold 37 homes last year…very successful. We met Brett at our home in December. He went through the house, thinking out loud about things we could do to enhance its appeal to buyers. Then we went outside to view the property. Same thing…trim these shrubs, remove these branches that block the street view of the house, etc. We went back inside to talk. Brett explained how he used thorough market research to determine how to price and when to list the property. He emphasized the importance of right pricing…avoiding the high price nonsense that can make selling your home a long, slow, frustrating affair. He suggested we meet a person who could help us stage the property. We did and decided to get her help. She showed us how to remove knickknacks and excess furniture, which really made the interior look bigger and more modern. Brett excels at leading edge marketing, using digital still and 360 degree photography to create a virtual tour of the house and collection of dramatic still photos. He also used drone photography to show pictures of the home and grounds from the air. Prospective buyers knew what they’d be seeing when they came for their showing. Brett listed the home on all the major online portals, including Zillow, Red Fin, and Realtor.com. Based on what he saw of available inventory in our Township and movement of interest rates, Brett suggested we list the home in February. The house went “live” on a Thursday…listed on MLS. We had 22 showings that weekend. And on Saturday morning we received an email from Brett informing us we had an agreement. He recommended we negotiate some of the terms. He managed the negotiations over a couple of days. We then accepted the agreement. That’s how easy it was for us to sell our home. There wasn’t much luck involved in this. Brett determined the timing, the marketing, and the pricing. He was right about all three. That’s how the house sold in a day. I’m not a Realtor, but I work in real estate on the human resource side, so I know a lot of Realtors. Brett is among the best I’ve met. Would I retain him again? In a heartbeat. Do I recommend him to you? Absolutely.

Brett was wonderful to work with when selling my mom’s house! I interviewed another realtor when we were on the realtor search, and didn’t get the same feeling I had after meeting with Brett. Brett is honest, hard-working, super responsive, and a real expert in his field. He was with me every step of the way, and I never felt alone in the complex process of selling a home. The advice Brett provided was invaluable when it came to how much (or little) work we should put in the house versus how much return we would get on our investment. Brett recommended a top-notch appraiser and home inspector, so we would know the value and the condition of the house. Before we called in any agents to interview we got our own home appraisal so we would know which agents were just throwing out big unrealistic numbers in order to get our listing. We then interviewed 4 agents, all of whom we knew from watching the local market did a lot of business in our area. We choose Brett for a couple of reasons. He lists AND sells a lot of homes in our area, he is extremely professional, and he was realistic in telling us what he thought he would list the property at. He came to the "interview" prepared with comps in the area to back up his suggested selling price. He asked to see the entire house before he told us what price he would suggest. He also had some excellent suggestions for us to help sell the property. Further, he has some flexibility with his commission rate since he and his brother own the ReMax agency. Once we selected him he came in and took literally a hundred or more professional photos of the house and yard. He provided us with a draft of his proposed MLS listing and was open to our edits and photo suggestions. He then worked tirelessly to promote the house from direct mailers to a brokers' open house. When we got an offer (in 50 days from listing when the average in our area was over 70 days) he was helpful in negotiating with the buyers' agent. In the end we received 99.7% of our asking price (which was substantially above the appraisal value we got). All in all Brett was great to work with and I wouldn't hesitate to use him again. I recommend Brett highly.

We decided to interview several realtors. Brett impressed us in his first visit, because the knowledge of the area, precise insight about the market situation and almost mathematical calculation of real estate details. Nevertheless we decide to choose the realtor that offered us the largest asking price and the lowest commission. This was a big mistake that we regretted in the following weeks. We realize that an asking price is not based on wishes and desires but in market reality. After several painful weeks we released the initial agent and anxiously called Brett. Brett?s style was completely different. He had a formal market assessment to show us, and actively provided several recommendations to make the house more appealing. He produced beautiful pictures and an awesome video of the house. As we had left the house to move out of state, he kept a close eye on the property and called immediately to report any issue that should be taken care of. He provided constant reassurance and feedback on all the visitors. As people remained concerned about flooding issues, Brett went out of his way to help a buyer get the additional extra loan he required to buy the house. The buyer had always dreamt to have a stream in his backyard and he and his family were really happy to buy this property. Brett Furman has really exceeded our expectations of what an agent can do for both a seller and buyer. On the sell side, he was extremely knowledgeable of our local markets and the value of various improvements. I used Real Estate Broker Brett Furman to sell my home in Berwyn and find my new home. Brett sold my home in only seven days for 95% of asking price. I was very impressed with his knowledge and attention to detail. He always returned my calls promptly and had a process for everything that he did. Brett fell far short of my expectations. I read all of the postive reviews and expected so much more but when it came down it to it. I was disappointed with the sale price I got for my house. As my realtor, I expected Brett to negotiate on my behalf but all he did was send me an email or call and say "what do you want to do." I was making all the deicisons and paying all the commissions. I could have used any other Realtor and received the same average service. I can not recommend Brett to anyone and I will not use him in the future.

All of Brett's recommendations were good ones. The contractors he recommend to improve the look of the house preformed well and at a fair price. He met with the appraiser to facilitate that process. He also handled the contract negotiations very professionally and conducted business in a way that maximized the price we were able to get for the house. I would recommend Brett Furman and his very professional team to anyone selling a nice house in the area. He will do a good and effective job for you. Count me as another satisfied client.

It turned out that he was located too far out; however, he took my name and number and researched available agents in our area. He then interviewed someone he thought would work well with us.
