David Batty

David Batty is a realtor we contacted to assist us in purchasing a property in PA. We arranged with him to fly from another state to PA with the understanding that he would show us some properties on the two days we were scheduled to be in PA. The evening before we were scheduled to depart at approximately 9 PM, he contacted us by email to say that he could only meet with us for about an hour because of some business that had come up. He did not offer to have one of his colleagues show us around. He did not care that we had bought airplane tickets, and booked a hotel, and were coming to find real estate. His behavior was highly unprofessional, and he was arrogant -- he was not even apologetic. Based on certain statements he made, and his attitude, he clearly seemed to think that his time was more valuable than anyone else's. He also has an unfortunate idea that if a client is not yet ready to purchase a property (buying a house usually takes time and looking around) then he does not want to deal with that client. When we expressed our disappointment and surprise at his unprofessionalism, he had the temerity to retort that we "just don't understand the business." We have bought homes before in different places, and have worked with realtors before, and have never experienced this level of unprofessional behavior. I would not recommend Mr. Batty to anyone.

He kept us up on what was going on in the industry. He held our hands through the home search and mortgage process. He is very resourceful. I have referred him and will use him again.
