After purchasing a house in 2014, I discovered drainage issues and water in the basement not known by the prior owner. John came out to inspect the property. He offered a number of great suggestions on the spot and more in his report. Three contractors later and I had a new sump pump, a drain in the basement, a pipe to take water to the front yard and all new grading around the house. The end result six years later is no water in the basement and no issues with drainage. Thanks John for the professional service.

John is a really good inspector. The first two homes he inspected for us seemed like good options. Turns out they were duds and John helped us avoid the money pits! Each time he provided facts and guidance while leaving the ultimate decisions to us. He was able to talk about what these failures (such as a cracked sewer pipe, failing water heater, etc) would cost up front and long term, as well as what to look for in future homes. The inspection reports were detailed and thorough without being nitpicky and provided helpful cost estimates. He worked with us to provide reports to the seller that got us out of each bad deal. On the third home, John provided guidance on how we could make some of the repairs ourselves ("just pick up a replacement at home depot- costs $5, or you can pay some one and it'll cost $150"), and even identified potential high energy appliances to consider removing. He was friendly throughout and gave recommendations on the housing options to consider in our price range. He is incredibly knowledgeable, has great ratings on yelp, and we would recommend him to anyone and everyone we can! Also we'll be filling in a yelp review soon too (5 stars!).

On the positive side, John was very responsive to my emails and phone calls in providing a quote and setting up the appointment. His prices were competitive with the quotes I received from other organizations. He confirmed via text message and email, the location and time of the appointment. He said that he would get started at 3p, and I would not need to arrive until 4-4:30p. Outweighing any positives - JOHN DID NOT SHOW UP TO THE APPOINTMENT!! I arrived promptly at 3p - and good thing I did! After 15 minutes of no-show, I called him repeatedly until he finally picked up ALMOST AN HOUR LATER. He claimed that he had no record of the appointment - though it was ALL DOCUMENTED and he CONFIRMED via email! On the phone, he continued to blame me and some kind of paperwork issue, for his lack of attendance! He didn't apologize ONCE or accept ANY RESPONSIBILITY. After John informed me that he was at his home, and did not have record of the appointment, I expected him to remedy the situation some how, maybe get in the car and do the inspection? He did not. After hanging up the phone, I forwarded him the email trail evidencing his confirmation of all the details - HE HAS YET TO RESPOND or take any responsibility! I was shocked at the level of unprofessionalism. I was extremely fortunate that I had scheduled an inspection at the beginning of the 10 day window in my contract. I called several other inspectors and was able to find one with immediate availability. John's lack of attendance almost COST ME MY RIGHT TO A HOME INSPECTION! He wasted my time and my husband's (we both took off work), as well as my realtor, and inconvenienced the Seller who now had to vacate the house to be available for inspection a second time. I was extremely embarrassed, and furious with John. I could not recommend more strongly, to AVOID THIS SERVICE PROVIDER. Unless for some reason, you're willing to risk a no-show!

We used Alpha Check Inspections in the purchase of a new home. John was responsive and attentive. We used him for the inspections of two homes. The inspection of the first house revealed significant issues with stucco facade. We were able to terminate the sale during our due diligence period. Due to his thoroughness, we used him again when we found a second home. We highly recommend him.

.John was easy to get in touch with, punctual, and very detail oriented. At our house he found many problems that we did not know existed. He is very knowledgeable about all aspects of the building code that governs residential structures. He filed a complete report and returned after we had made the necessary repairs to verify them. He then filed an amended report that eliminated the problems that had been fixed. The after inspection was done at no additional cost. In all our interactions I found John easy to get along with and willing to give good advice.

John was awesome! He was very thorough, very professional, and very knowledgeable. His estimate was a little more expensive than some others, but it was well worth it. The house he inspected is a very large 250 year old converted barn and we were very impressed with his skills in knowing where to look for issues. He knows building codes off the top of his head and he is like a detective piecing together clues to get the whole picture of what's going on in the house. His report was amazing - 54 pages full of pictures and descriptions, pointing out what critically needs to be fixed as well as minor issues - and was sent the very next day. The inspector was able to do inspection within two days of first call for appointment. I received a full report within a weak of inspection outlining areas of concern, including recommended fixes and estimate of cost. Saturday John walked through the house with us checking out things and explaining what was wrong and how to remedy any problems found. He sat with us part way through and gave us the option of ending the investigation where we were for there were so many problems that needed attention, including some serious ones like mold. We opted to continue. At the end he encouaged us to call with any questions we had. The report arrived via computer Mon. morning minus the radon and mold test results. The report is clear with what is wrong, what is needed to remedy the problems and an estimate of costs for the remedies. There is also an invitation to call him with any problems.

The home inspection process was excellent. John was thorough and patient with questions, often going back over the same things numerous times. After inspecting the outside of the house, John went back into the house - in particular - the basement to take a closer look at potential issues. I appreciated that John took the effort to look behind walls, open up panels that could be opened, and remove insulation to get a closer look at issues and potential problems. John's report was cleanly written and laid out in a manner that was easy to read and understand. The budgetary quotes for repair items seem very reliable. Perhaps all inspectors do this, but John offered insight and suggestions for repairs, products to look into, and locally owned companies that provide good service at fair prices.

I was in the process of purchasing a townhouse which was new but finished construction. Alpha Check was recommended to be by another inspector. This was my first home purchase so I didn't know what to expect. John (the inspector from Alpha Check) did a very thorough job with the inspection, finding a number of issues which I was able to go over with the builder during my walk through and get resolved. He was also very helpful and informative, taking the time to explain some issues in detail. The money spent on the inspection was definitely worth it given the number of items he found and which were resolved. I plan to use Alpha Check again for my next home purchase which will be built next year.

Mr. Biegalski was wonderful. He arrived early and got a start on the exterior of the house while it was still light outside. When we arrived, he warmly greeted us and had us fill out some paperwork. He then proceeded to start the home inspection. Mr. Biegalski pointed out many things to us about the home. He showed us what was a safety hazard, what could be fixed easily, and how to fix things our selves. He gave us some pertinent information in regards to where shut off valves were and such. He suggested products to use, in the event that we wanted to change something, he recommended solutions for us to use as well. He made sure to point out in every room what could be fixed by the sellers easily and cost efficiently. He took a large amount of pictures to document his findings. He was very knowledgeable about his profession, as well as knowledgeable about the area. He welcomed and eagerly answered all of our questions. We received our report in less than twenty four hours after the inspection. It was over 45 pages long, showing every issue that he showed us in the house, with picture testimonial. Great Home inspector. We will definitely be using this gentleman when we sell or buy in the future.

FELL FOR A SLICK BROCHURE AFTER LOOKING AT SEVERAL ALTERNATIVE HOME INSPECTORS. THE RESULTS REQUIRED ME TO EDIT AND MAKE CORRECTIONS TO ASSURE COMPLETENESS. HIS ATTITUDE WAS POOR AND THE FINAL PRODUCT WAS MOSTLY A CANNED GENERALIST, STATEMENT RIDDLED, DOCUMENT THAT WAS MORE LIKE A HOME DEPOT MAINTENANCE GUIDE. I HAD HIGH EXPECTATIONS BASED ON THE CREDENTIALS AND DISCUSSIONS WITH THIS SERVICE PROVIDER, WHICH WERE NOT MET. I SELECTED A HIGHER PRICED INSPECTION SERVICE BASED ON THE DEMANDS OF THE HOME TO BE INSPECTED. THE HOME WAS IN SORRY SHAPE, AND I EXPECTED A THOROUGH JOB, WHICH I FEEL I DID NOT RECEIVE. HE ACTUALLY RECOMMENDED I NOT PURCHASE THE HOME, WHICH I IGNORED, AND AM QUITE HAPPY I DID.
