We are sorry to hear of your concerns. When our Production Manager recently visited your mother's home, he assured you that the wall remains permanently stabilized and has actually improved over time. We look forward to servicing the system in the future to potentially return the wall back to its original position.

Splendidly. The foreman (Jeff) and the other two members of his crew (Steven and Brian) were diligent, conscientious, and pleasant throughout a four-day job. They were knowledgable and went out of their way to do the job efficiently but also properly. We couldn't have asked for a better crew.

The job went horribly from start to finish. The job was rescheduled multiple times by Bakers. Instructions were given to notify us when the crew was on the way so that one of us could attend during the job. The crew never called. They just came and left after the job. The cement slab was raised somewhat, but not leveled. MANY calls to the company were not returned. Finally, a supervisor said he would come out and look at it. At that visit, the supervisor said that "He was going to make it right". We actually live close to the company so it's convenient for them to come to our house. He was going to send the crew over to try and lift and level it more. This was followed by many weeks of scheduling delays. Meanwhile, a client of ours called them for the same job and his was done correctly within one week from the call! Once again, the crew came and left without advanced notification so we could be there. Honestly, we can't even confirm that they came a second time. We were told nothing could be done. After many more calls, the supervisor said he would personally come over with a slab jack to see if it was possible to lift it higher on one side to level it. After a few weeks, he had still not been in contact to schedule that visit. What seemed like a simple job turned into months worth of headache. The fine print on their contract naturally states that they can not guarantee how much they can lift and/or level cement. However, their brochure has huge print on the front that says "LIFT and LEVEL". The first salesman to visit the house said it would be an easy job for them. We are very disappointed in the quality of the work and do understand that the process has it's limitations. However, the total lack of coordination, follow up, and commitment to quality was unexpected for a company such as Bakers. Bakers price came in higher than their competition for this job. We decided to pay the higher price to have Bakers do it. Hiring Bakers for this job turned out to be a huge mistake. We will never recommend them for any type of home repair.

We sincerely apologize for the lack of communication and any inconvenience. On the signed contract, we make known that there is no guarantee we can successfully lift and level concrete slabs. Our Foreman noted one side returned to its original position and the other side came close (within an inch). Due to the inconvenience this has caused and to best serve you, this is why we waived the 8 months of interest and the non-warranty service calls to your home. We wish you all the best.

The technicians were on time on the date scheduled and were quick and efficient. They do a lot of wall anchor projects apparently and are one of the companies that specialize in this work. It was annoying that Baker asks Pittsburgh residents to obtain their own city permit for wall anchor installations. I had to go downtown to the city office to get one. The end of my project was delayed because the city inspector was on vacation. I recommend that customers reach out to the inspector to verify that he will be available on the project date. The Baker guys will contact him on the day itself.

We are happy to hear the work we completed for you met your expectations! We understand your frustration in obtaining a city permit. However, take into consideration the expansive radius we service, and that every township has different requirements. We need to rely on the homeowner, so your experience with us doesn't include extra time and money. We appreciate the feedback and your tip to future customers!

Mike and Brian were scheduled to be at my house between 9-10am. They arrived at 9:05. We discussed the work needing to be done. The work took about an hour and a half. They cleaned up after themselves and explained how it now works. They were both helpful and professional with the install. I would use them again.

Great. The crew of Mike, Brian, and Dave was punctual, friendly, experienced, and very knowledgeable of the job. The clean up job was also terrific. Well done Baker's crew!
Description of Work: We first had Baker's install a sump pump several years ago which has worked superbly. Today, Baker's installed Clean Sweep, a vinyl wall covering that stops our 200 year old farmhouse sandstone walls from flaking onto our floor. Our walls now have a bright, white covering on them to cover the flaky walls. Nothing will get stop the flakes, but Baker's uses the Clean Sweep vinyl wall covering system. When the flakes drop to the floor, they fall into the sump pump system behind the white vinyl wall covering. The sump pump system then disposes of the flakes. No more dirty basement! Our basement looks terrific, is dry, and for once in my life does not have flakes on the floor. Thank you Baker's. I would recommend you to anyone.
Mike and his crew were very prompt, earlier than we expected really. Very nice and professional, made sure we happy with the work, kept us updated through the whole process

Not well. It didn't get past the estimate. The salesman said needed an internal drain, but left a lot of things I thought they would do, put as my responsibility. He told me I had to move my toilet and vanity before they did the job. He said his crew "only digs holes" and didn't trust them to do something like move things. He said it was up to me to hook up the electric to the main box. Also, he recommended I hire a contractor to cut out what was finished because he said his crew is "just gonna rip through it with a sawzah". I also told him my downspout spews water on a heavy rain, since they would tap into this spout from the sump pump. He said I had to hire a plumber to fix it before doing the job. I have a small basement, 900 sq ft, and yet, they estimated $9,000! Not sure how this company gets a high grade, it really seemed like a rip off.

We are sorry to hear of your concerns. When our sales representative provided you with a free estimate, he assessed the problem as well as any obstacles our installation crew would have encountered. In your basement, there were obstacles that would have required both a certified professional electrician and plumber to properly handle. We take pride in honest and responsible practices, so this is why we do not perform these services.

This complaint was not submitted by a customer of Baker's Waterproofing. It seems that her complaint should be directed at her homeowners association. Yet she states we are less professional we ruined her concrete and we did not complete the work. We connected with the homeowners association twice in the past 6 months to address the 2 different complaints filed by the homeowner. The first in Nov of 2016 and again in April of 2017. We've been reassured by our customer, the homeowner's association the project was completed properly the slab was stabilized and lifted over 1" and they were pleased with the results.

He did a good job with the quote. The price is a couple thousand dollars more then the others I called. The gentleman was a gem he really was and he did a good job. He had stuff to show me and it was interesting and I learned from him. Then he said they wouldn't be helping me move the furniture from one side of the basement to the other. I have called 8 different companies to do the same work and have gotten different prices. As far as the estimate and customer service goes I would give them a C, because I have not used them for any work. I would consider using this company. If you do not go ahead and go with them, they will call you back with a lower price. I would suggest they just come in with their lowest price to begin with.

Excellent, crew was on time, clearly reviewed all work to be done before starting the job. Mid-way through the job, the crew had to make a modification to the original design and they took the time to explain the reasoning for the change and asked for my authorization before making any changes on their own (it was due to an unmarked pipe under our basement floor). The crew did a nice job of explaining their progress throughout the day.

The crew showed up ahead of schedule and worked all day long! They were very pleasant and actually put up extra plastic to cover our belongings so they didn't get dusty. They explained how the job was going and went over the pump and battery at the end of the project. The system is working as expected following heavy rains and flash flood warnings in Pittsburgh overnight and today. The basement is now dry!

It actually went great. I did not have enough of a problem to meet their minimum job requirements and their salesman George gave me a couple of suggestions about what I could do. He could have easily inflated the cost to meet their minimum order but he "did the right thing" by suggesting alternatives. What a great attitude to have as a contractor. I wish there were more of them out there. If I ever have a need for their services I will contact them immediately and also recommend them to family & friends.

Work was completed in two days, as anticipated in their cost proposal, and was completed for the original estimate with no additional charges or "surprise" cost. The work was very physically demanding and the 3-man crew really worked hard throughout these two days. The work is also very noisy with all the jack-hammering, drilling, and tamping to backfill the holes. The excavation of the holes generated some pretty big piles of dirt and debris that were placed on tarps and the concrete floor near the holes. The work also generated a lot of fine concrete dust that still managed to get everywhere despite my efforts to put up plastic sheeting barriers to try to contain the dust, although it probably would have been much worse without the plastic barriers. The contractor does NOT put up any plastic barriers to try to contain dust, the owner is responsible for this work, as well as clearing everything away from the wall areas where the piers were installed. The contractor did put down tarps to cover floor paths to work areas, except where I had already put down plastic sheeting to cover floors. The contractor's crew cleaned up the work areas surprising well considering the size of the dirt piles, and they also volunteered to remove and dispose of all of the plastic sheeting that I had put up, which I readily accepted to make things easier for me. Josh Emery, the service advisor that prepared the estimate for the work explained the entire work process very well ahead of time, and everything went the way I had been told it would. The Foreman, Nate Strobel, and his crew were very cordial and informative throughout the project. Baker's Waterproofing's proposed scope of work for the project was more comprehensive than the work proposed by other contractors and their cost for the project was still significantly lower than the other estimates I obtained. I am very satisfied with their approach to the problem and the work that was performed, and I would highly recommend them for similar work.
Description of Work: Installed eight (8) foundation piers from inside basement to stabilize settling foundation and one (1) galvanized steel support column to stabilize existing steel I-beam supporting center of house. Work required jack-hammering hole (about 2' x 2') through concrete floor slab, excavating about 2-3 feet down to get below footer, drilling/jack-hammering out notch in concrete footer back to the foundation wall, installing L-shaped support bracket under footer, hydraulically driving cylindrical foundation pier to set bracket, backfilling holes and replacing concrete floor slab for each pier. A similar hole was required to set new support column for beam. Concrete and excess dirt from holes were hauled away by crew.
