Doug was the second contract we worked with after the first contractor we hired after 2 referrals from friends, asked for 75% of the money up front. Unsuspecting we gave him the money when he started the concrete slab. He has never returned and took the rest of our money. Doug knew of our situation and said he wouldn't charge us until the job was complete. He started the job, and then showed up sporadically stating all sorts of trouble he was running into. He communicated he needed money to make payroll or the work would not get done. So, once again we gave him money to try and keep the job moving. After months of waiting for the job that was supposed to take 3 weeks to be completed we asked him to stop working on the project. We were tired of the lies and lack of work being completed. We called other contractors to finish the work and we were told by multiple contractors the work was not acceptable and would all have to be redone. He seems like a genuine person and is amazing at making you think he really cares about you and the work he is doing. However, after many months of frustration and now a massive fireplace that is a risk to our children I realize he was a greatdeceiver.
Description of Work: He was to build us a patio, outdoor fireplace, a retaining wall, pillars and plant trees.

One of the most frustrating and truly disappointing experiences of my life. I provided a materials deposit worth 50% of the job to Mr. Andresky. All of the materials were supposed to arrive immediately. On a deposit of $21,900, less than $6000 worth of material has arrived at my house. He continually lies about the work schedule, remaining materials delivery, and after 3 months has provided very little. The work that has been completed is already falling apart and I have not seen the same employees on the job site more than a day or two at a time. Mr Andresly was supposed to be leading the job but after issuing the deposit check has disappeared from the job. Occasionally he will drop off small value material to pretend that he is still engaged in the job. ( less then a couple hundred dollars in value) and work for an hour or two doing very little and then diasappear with a false comittment of work continuation. The typical string you along and do nothing approach. I have recently learned that he has a pattern of burning clients as well as suppliers and has no assetts worth pursuing. He is a slick talking and will try and be-friend you and your family members only to burn you. My motivation for posting this on Angies List is for public awareness as this is VERY real and criminal behavior. I will be pursuing this to the fullest extent of the law knowing that I will most likely never see a dime in return. Everyone that reads this should consider themselves fully warned. RUN from this company and Mr. Andresky. I assure you that he will be changing the name of his company soon. Do not fall for the nice advertising material that I fell for. This will take me and my family awhile to recover from and it is a shame. Please feel free to contact me through Angies List if you would like more information regarding my experience.
Description of Work: I contracted with Three Rivers Landscape to complete hardscaping and landscaping on my property. My wife and I have saving for years to realize our dream. The job was to include hardscape patio, a fireplace, as well as installation of numerous planting beds and lawn. At present, almost 3 months later, very little has been completed and has essentially abandoned the job.

I met with Doug. He seemed very professional and interested in the project I needed done. He took some pictures and requested that I forward him a survey of my property. I liked some of the work featured on his website. I was initially planning on going with him until I read the reviews from Angie's List and BBB. I ultimately decided I couldn't risk a half-completed job or a collapsing wall, so i am looking elsewhere.
Description of Work: Got approximate estimate to have a retaining wall, patio, waterfall and landscaping done.

The work was completed over the course of 2 weeks, it was proposed to be one week, but there was 2 days of solid rain. Only other delays were in final plantings as the fir trees we selected were not mature enough for Doug's liking so he drove out of his way to get more mature trees. The work has held up without fault or issue and its been nearly a year. Doug was communcative and responsive to our needs and wasn't an absentee contractor. I would consider doing work with him again
Description of Work: Shopped around for a number of contractors to finsh off an area where I demolished a 23' above ground pool and moved 6 tons of river rock from around the circumference. Leaving me with a 30' indentation and crater in my yard. Doug was the most professional contractor, listened to the needs of our family and added his suggestions. His patio and masonry work were top notc matching our exisiting patio nearly perfectly. He added about 300 sq ft of patio, berm, pantings and rock boulders, he also repaired my block stairs with the work. His staff was friendly and courteous. They even leveled and graded low spots and mulched parts of my yard when the work was through without requirng payment or asking for those services.

Terrible - see above.
Description of Work: We worked with Doug a couple of years ago when his company installed a paver patio for us (approximate cost $9,000). We were happy with that project and have not had any issues with the patio. We decided to add a couple of retaining walls and some landscaping to the front of our house this year and immediately thought to call him. He was responsive, provided a bid and answered some questions. I had some difficulty reaching him over the next couple of weeks, but I knew it was busy season for them and that we had a relatively small project. In mid-May, he told me we were scheduled for the next week and that they would be done in 1 1/2 days (important because I was scheduling additional work from another company that couldn't start until he was done). At that point, I paid him the initial amount of $2,300, which was to cover the materials for the job. He didn't show up the following week and hasn't returned calls since. Over the last two months, I've called at least 20 times and he hasn't answered or returned a phone call or an e-mail yet. One of those messages was to cancel our contract and return our money because we were no longer interested in working with him. My husband called from his work number and Doug actually answered only to tell us that "the check was in the mail" which, of course, it wasn't - and he offered no apology for any of the mess. We have now contacted the Better Business Bureau and are trying to figure out the best way to get our money back. What a pain!

Couldn't have gone worse. See above.
Description of Work: I hired Doug to build 2 retaining walls after getting estimates from other contractors. He seemed knowledgable and assured me his company had lots of experience building walls of this type. He offered a 15 year warranty that the wall woudl not fall down and also was the lowest bidder. I hired this company prior to becoming an Angie's list member - what a mistake. He started the project on time and esimated the time to completion at 2 weeks. Prior to initiation of the project, we discussed the need for engineered drawings and a building permit - which he told me he would take care of. A few weeks after he started, I found out we didn't have a building permit - which caused a delay. Not that that mattered. After we obtained the building permit, his crew would only show up for a few hours on a few days of the week. Despite being far behind the estimated time of completion, no work in rain, hot weather, for more than a few hours. Doug was a nice guy and was relatively responsive to phone calls, so I perservered with them on the project. With time, aesthetically, the project started to look better. It took forever, but I was close to being happy. Little did I know that the structure of the wall was a complete failure. As the backfill was put in place, the wall began to bulge. The crew was there and took the wall down, claiming they wanted to replace a cracked block. I don't believe that to be the case. Never the less, the damage was already done, the wall was already pushing forward and would need to be nearly if not completely replaced. I had 2 other wall builders exame the project, finding several flaws in how the wall was constructed. By the time the wall collapsed, I had already decided that I couldn't tolerate more months (the estimated 2 weeks turned into greater than 3 months) or futility. I cut ties with the company and asked them to remove the debris (palates block was shipped on, broken shovel handle, unused piping) from my property and clear out. After failing miserably with the building project, they didn't even have the courtesy to remove garbage from the job site. Avoid this company.

Description of Work: Doug is a great talker but his design, choice of plants, quality of work and professionalism were terrible. First of all, he confused us with other clients and told us he had already done our landscaping, when I called him because he failed to turn up on TWO separate occasions to start our landscaping work!! He entirely failed to complete the work of leveling and planting grass in our back yard, having told us during his 'sales pitch' that when he was finished, our back yard would look like a golf course. What a joke! The quality of soil used was very poor, the ground completely uneven, the grass planted so sparse, the ground cracked and looked horrendous. Doug came to look at the work his people had done and said he'd give us our money back. Needless to say, he has not and we never heard from him again, our phone calls went unanswered. The plants he selected for our front yard were totally inappropriate and most have either died or been eaten by deer (Doug said they were deer friendly - NOT). One tree he selected and planted in the front yard has grown much larger than he said it would in only 2 years and was planted only a foot from the foundation of our house. We are having to pay to have it moved as a surveyor has advised that it is likely to damage the foundation of our home. My advice is to AVOID this firm which is neither competent, reliable nor trustworthy.

Very disappointing
Description of Work: Called this company about a landscaping job on a steep hillside that has been unmanageable for me for several years. I was very impressed with this companies website and made a call for an estimate. Mr Andresky returned my call quickly and came to my house exactly when he said he would. I was impressed with his ideas and was looking forward to working with him. He said he would call with an estimate within a week. After 3 weeks, I called and left a message asking if he had an estimate available. I never heard from him again. I was very disappointed as I really liked his knowledge and professionalism when he came to my house. At least give me the courtesy of saying that you don't want the job when you come to my house- don't make me waste time waiting for your estimate. I could have made arrangements with another company. But, I am learning that all landscapers play this game. I don't know how anybody gets anything planted around here.

I am currently in a dispute with them. The work that they did is starting to fall apart. I spent about $10000 on that work. I did post a review on the list with pictures of the work they did, but I have changed my mind since then. I don’t know if they can be trusted to do the work on time and they don’t value their warranty, which apparently is 10 years. They have not made any repairs as of yet, when I have been asking for about 6 months. The people that work for them don’t seem to have the best knowledge about how to do a particular patio job. I have had other people come out and look at it and said that it was not done correctly. It was all a stone patio job. The design looks nice and it was ready on time for the most part. They were better priced than more people. The last time I contacted them was about 2 weeks ago regarding the problem with their work.

Mr. Andresky could really see our vision - he knew exactly what we were trying to achieve. He was even able to get the idea down on paper for us. I really like how he did things, he went along with us everytime we changed our minds. The only bad thing was that the project lasted longer than any of us had imagined. He was very curteous and professional.
Description of Work: Andresky's came out and helped re-do our back yard including a second patio and extending the original porch to that area.

Doug and his team are cost-competitive, punctual and professional. The design was more than we hoped for, and the final area is larger than we expected. It looks amazing and gets many compliments. There were some issues with certain blocks not being glued down correctly (and that eventually came loose), but Doug was quick to send out someone to repair them. He work carries a very long warranty (10 years), and he is very knowledgeable. We did not use him for landscaping, but will likely do that in the future.
Description of Work: Backyard excavated, patio built, retaining wall built, sidewalk built. All work was done using stone blocks.
