Guardian Protection

It went well. All of my questions that I could think of were answered.

Efficient, considerate, outstanding, explained and showed everything.

Dismal. These guys came as part of a package deal with the home builder I was using. When I first walked into the Austin branch to talk with them about my as-yet-unconstructed house, I wanted to get a sense of what they offered. I asked about whether they carried or installed ZigBee-compatible devices, but the brainwashed GM I talked to hadn't even heard of it (although it's the most common open source wireless protocol for home automation) and then went on to talk about ZWave technology, which he clearly knew very little about. When a sales rep has to pause and go consult with his technicians twice per visit on even the most basic questions, that's not a good sign. It took quite a few more meetings with these folks to get my low voltage wiring in the right place, and even then they had never done a CAT 6 home installation before (!) so they put the wrong termination into my walls. I also explicitly asked multiple times for the two speaker wire outlets to be flush with the center of a particular door (even going so far as to give them a detailed diagram) as the house was being built, and they still managed to get the outlets a good 2' off the mark. To top it all off, the installers didn't cap off or cover the low voltage wiring in any way so that when other workmen came to spray texture onto the walls, the wires were covered in thick plaster that prevented me from accessing them. They might be OK as a monitored security company (they use Alarm.com as their front-end, which has a nice mobile app), but stay faaaaarrr away if you're looking for low-voltage work in Austin.

They called 1/2 hour before she arrived. She went over what I needed and wanted, and installed everything and explained how it worked. She was good at it.

Service tech arrived and installed smoke detectors within a half an hour.

Excellent! Installed everything and it all works great. They stayed to help get the music playing and it took much longer because of my I-pad. They were great, very pleasant and great technicians.

They were very helpful in walking me through the controls and the online stuff. Feel comfortable that I won't set alarm off on accident.

Mike did an inspection of home. He helped me locate areas for kep pads and alarms. He also helped check windows. He switched out a key pad for key fobs because that was the best situation for us. Mike was very friendly.
