The Guardian sales rep was very thorough in going over all their available services and answered all our questions when ordering. Although there were a few minor changes they were willing to make those without question. The alarm technician that came in to activate my system was extremely knowledgeable and helpful in setting up the system the way we wanted it and even helped move the cable modem to make it more efficient in working with the data package that we had installed. They were happy to extend the trial period and made sure we were comfortable with the system before going live and offered to help in any way. We have had the system in place for almost a year without any issues or false alarms. We feel very secure with the Guardian protection system.
Description of Work: Installed alarm system, provided electrical outlets and ceiling fan hookups as well as TV and data cables.

Simply getting the service installed has been an ordeal. Called to schedule an appointment for installation and got an appointment for Tuesday of the following week in the AM. Ok, fine. I couldn't make the appointment, so I had my parents come to my home to be present. 11 AM comes and goes, and the service tech's chances of making the morning appointment seemed slim. Called the account rep and she said she would place a call to the Service dept to get an update and that she would call me back. Two hours goes by and I don't hear from her, so I have to call her back to get some information. She claims she was told they were "en route" and she makes a note that I'm to be called by the tech when they are 30 minutes away. At this point the morning appointment has come and gone. Then it gets to be 3 in the afternoon, and there's no sign of anybody and no phone call. Rather than call the account rep who's not really helped at all, I call Customer Service. The nice kid in Customer Service proceeds to find out that there was a mix up in the Service department and that they wouldn't be showing up because they lacked a part they needed to complete the install. Apparently, nobody bothered to tell anybody this. I don't know who the account rep was talking about, but her information she supposedly got from the same Service dept was completely inaccurate. So my parents wasted an entire day sitting at my house for nothing, and it took 3 phone calls and an entire day to get any answers. So the customer service rep rescheduled my appointment for Friday of the same week. So canceled Tuesday, rescheduled for Friday. Thursday comes around and I get a voice mail late in the afternoon that I need to call Guardian to reschedule my appointment due to another "mix up". Call the account rep for an explanation and she has no idea what's going on, but she'll look into it and call me back. That seems to be her move to say she'll call back and then not do it. Two hours goes by again and no call back, so I have no idea whether there's still an appointment the following day or what's going on. So I call the account rep, and she's left for the day. Unbelievable. I get another person on the line and he proceeds to tell me that they still don't have the part. Where is this part coming from, the moon?? As of this moment, I still don't know for certain if my appointment for Friday is still valid, but the last person I talked said it wasn't. I haven't been able to trust anything I hear from Guardian up to this point. I'm less agitated by the missing part than I am that I have to be the one to chase answers. The customer service so far has been brutal and the system hasn't even been installed yet. This inspires me with zero confidence in Guardian and I have to question whether this is an arrangement I need to continue with since they haven't even begun any service yet. I'm not going to play around with my family's protection.
Description of Work: Failed to contact customer for canceled appointment. Then proceeded to cancel the rescheduled appointment the day before.

Overall, I would recommend Guardian--they are very responsive (I had some difficulties figuring out how to operate the new system and I was always able to call and get in touch with someone in the tech department right away and never had to wait for customer service) and the technicians that came out to update the system were thorough. I think they do a great job overall in updating and monitoring the systems. I did have trouble with the forms to set up service--the docusign program they use is not very user-friendly--but someone was able to walk me through it.

The sales rep that sold us the alarm about a year ago-and we are a hard sell-I have found out was telling us anything he could to sell us the system. We moved and that was the number 1 question I asked him 10 times-we are not going to stay here long so what happens when we move-and he told us that they would come out and put a whole new system in for free. Found out that they would have to come out and take out the old system and make another appointment to put it in the new house because it had not been 2 years since we got the system. We told him that we no longer needed the extra door alarm and that the motion sensor was useless because we have big dogs that kept setting it off so he switched it out for an extra key fob and a carbon monoxide detector. After he left-after over 5 hours of him being here-that morning around 4 am they started calling us telling us something was not working right. Somehow something had been switched saying we had something on the garage and we didn't and that something was wrong with the door. We had to call them several times to get someone back out here and then they tried to charge me a deductible of $25 for them to come back out which I refused because I do not pay for other peoples mistakes. We had no problems with them before the move and the system is great. You can set it from your phone while you are away and see if anything is going off. They are very fast about calling if there is an alarm and can even talk to you over the intercom.

Guardian service tech was on time, polite, and waited 15 minutes because my grandson got out of school and I had to bring him home. He was efficient and answered all of my questions and provided a lesson on use of the system.
Description of Work: Replaced central panel. Connected service. Replaced kep pads from existing system. Syncronized the computer and phone to a vista system.
