The new install was fine. My problem w/ Guardian was that even though we had used them for more than 10 years at our previous address, they would not let us out of our current contract when I was transferred unexpectedly by the Gov. I asked if I could pay an early termination fee and was told my options were to transfer the service to our new address or to the buyer of our house; or continue to pay the monthly fee for the remainder of the contract (2years). The "transfer" meant paying over $100 for a new system and starting the contract period over at 3 yrs. They did not violate the terms of the contract; they merely lacked any flexibility for a long-time customer. ***Update*** Guardian has reached out, and in my opinion, made things right. They credited us the cost of the transfer install/equipment, and agreed that the situation could have and should have been handled better. I commend them for following up and no longer have any regrets for doing business with them.
