Guardian Protection

l received a low battery warning alert on my cell phone, and also a call on my home phone with the option of resolving the issue myself or contacting Guardian for assistance. I called Customer Service and was talked through a test which confirmed that the battery was indeed low. I was again given the option of resolving the issue myself, ordering a replacement battery from Guardian, or scheduling a service call to have a technician replace the battery for an additional $25 service charge. I chose to schedule a service call. On the afternoon scheduled, the technician called to let me know he was running late and gave me the option of having him come as soon as he could get there, or rescheduling for the next day. I asked him to go ahead and come when he could. When he arrived, he apologized again for running behind schedule, answered some questions I had about the battery, and quickly changed and tested the new battery. He was friendly and professional. The charge was exactly what I had been told over the phone.

Technician arrived on time and installed hardware in accordance with agreed upon criteria in a workmen like manner. We have had less than 3 incidents where a technician had to come to repair/replace components (at least 1 my fault) . Everything has worked well.

Called to interview several home security companies from local, to national, to install your own. Did tons of on-line research plus interviewed via phone those that were not local. Went with Guardian for many reasons, but mostly because of their professionalism and ultimate product: they answered all my questions, were not pushy, evaluated my home, pointed out things I hadn't considered (some were things I thought I needed, but didn't). Their representative came out several times, at my request, to review questions I had prior to making my decision. He also made several phone calls to see what other concerns I might have. The night the contract was signed he went line-by-line explaining the contract. Once signed there was no doubt that I knew exactly what they provided and how. After signing the contract, the installer was scheduled to go through the home and review my needs again and determine where the best points for glass break and motion detector(s) should be installed. After doing so, he tested and walked me through all the equipment with Guardian's command center and explained what I needed to do to make sure I knew what I was doing on my end. He also came back a few days later when I had a question to make sure I knew what I was doing. I felt very comfortable and confident after he left. When you know that a deafening alarm will go off, with a possible police visit if there is an owner mishap, you want to know what to do to override the system, if necessary. As they expected, we initiated a couple of early false alarms that were easily resolved with their command center. There's a month grace period. About 2 months in, my husband inadvertently opened the door to the garage late at night without thinking about the alarm. We ran to the control panel and intervened. Because of the lateness of the hour, we immediately heard a voice at the command center (through the monitor) say, "Is everything all right there?" We confirmed all was okay, and felt very secure because of the quick and personal response. They have contacted us intermittently to remind us to run a home-test of the system and all is good. We are very pleased with Guardian. Though the do-it-yourself systems look easy and are a little cheaper, I wouldn't feel as secure and knowledgeable as I do with Guardian.

Determined the older wifi connection was inadequate and upgraded the electronics to connect me to 4G. The improvement was significant.

Provider was very thorough and provided a comprehensive list of options available. Price was the major sticking point for monthly monitoring.

Have had no need for services for many years. They do provide monitoring.

. Overall well. 1st Security did a fantastic job and the monitoring service from Guardian has been pleasantly uneventful. Always a courteous response and very rapid replies to any questions that have come up. The minimum 5 year contract is a little intimidating but that seems to be close to the industry norms as I could not find a monitored system with less than a 5 year contract.
