I really haven't had any contact with them since they put the system in. It works. They call when I open a door without disarming the system, so they're obviously monitoring it. That's really all there is to say.

First being that this was in April I do not remember the exact cost, but in the ballpark of mentioned above. We interviewed several and felt most secure with the salesman from Guardian. No pressure, he drove from Toledo the day he came, just told us straight up the cost, his professional opinion about his offer and the options. They installed just a few days later, my wife says the installer was very nice and she trusted him in our home. After being broke into, you lose the trust of your fellow man, whomever they may be. I already passed word onto our old neighbor and she switched to Guardian and we got a discount on our next bill from them,, totally not expected that they would do that. So far, since April no issues, just remembering you now have a extra step to perform when leaving and entering you home with a alarm system to engage. My wife's cell phone can set the alarm from anywhere if we forget it and remember it later or recently my father came over to let the dog out, he just called us, said he was there, my wife dis-engaged the system from her phone so he could get in without setting it off. Very nice option! One of those other alarm companies had such high pressure sales it really turned us off, three initials, starts with the letter A. I totally would say if your looking for a company for the first time it need to switch, Guardian is the place to use.

Guardian showed up on-time, did the work and cleaned up any mess they made. We were very satisfied with the work.

The installation is not the subject of this review, but the service that followed. I am writing you as a member because I just learned Guardian Services is a company that carries your excellent service recognition. Excellent service is not what I am currently receiving. I have sought help from Michelle in Account Services, but cannot get a return phone call. When our home was purchased in Mason, Ohio in 1999, my husband (Gregory Littleton), bought a security system from Guardian. It was installed and monitoring services were provided and paid for on a monthly basis. Once the initial contractual agreement was fulfilled, the services were maintained without a new contract. In January of 2013, my husband died. I contacted Guardian to advise of his death. After providing proof of the death, the account was then changed to my name, Diane McGough. I kept the service and continued making monthly payments as required. August 2014, I sold my home and relocated to Georgia to be closer to family. When I called Guardian to request service disconnection, I was advised I was under a new contract and had approximately 18 months more to pay. I have continued to pay, but it is a hardship. The company's response to this matter seems most unfair and without compassion. My husband and I were loyal customers and never defaulted on payments. While grieving his loss, I was simply being responsible in notifying him of the death. The representative I spoke with never advised that transferring the name on the account would initiate a new contract. Had I been aware, I would have never changed the name, as I had already embarked on plans to sell our home. While I recognize this is business and not personal, I was hoping they would treat it personally and make an exception, extending some grace in light of my most unfortunate circumstances. To date, I have struggled to make payments for services I don't receive. I don't know the new owners of my previous home and I have no need of a transfer of the service here. I cannot get the representative in account services to return my calls regarding this matter. Perhaps you cannot act as a mediator, but I wanted Angie's List to be aware of this very callous behavior and lack of professionalism and compassion by Guardian Protection Services. I would never use their services again nor recommend them.

We have a contact with them. They do basic security services.

Response has always been very good when the security alarm has gone off.

The services that they provided was adequate, I was a little disappointed because they ended up not installing everything that I agreed to during our pre-sale meeting. They claimed that they would not install the after market items (key pad door lock & Nest thermostat system), because it would void some warranty with Ryan Homes. Ryan homes denies this is an issue, and Guardian has reached out to me to "make the sale" again, but I am not going to allow them to install the after market issues.

The installation and communication were both fine. I haven't had any problems.

Work has been good with them. Everything went smoothly with the installation and work was completed as promised. Clean-up was good.

Their communication is excellent and we are very happy with them. Their pricing is comparable to others.

The assessment portion of the service done by the service representative went very well. The follow up by the service representative was not as prompt as it should have been. I had to contact the service representative about 2 - 3 times before the representative got back to me about 1 and half later. The representative was apologetic and more responsive from that point going forward. The security system work just fine, and the provider has been very responsive to addressing our questions and needs. For example, something had malfunctioned with the security system control panel. I called and described the problem to them and they were able to address the problem remotely by taping directly into the system. A repair person came about 2 days later and replaced the faulty component.

There were a couple issues shortly after the installation. One issue was with the battery in a motion detector and they needed to reinstall a door sensor. They were responsive to these issues. Everything has been fine and there haven’t been wait times when calling with questions. When I have accidentally set off the alarm, they have called within 30 seconds.

While their prices are on the higher end, everything’s gone fine. They changed the panels out initially and the sirens and did an excellent job with this.
