The customer service was great. They were helpful with answering questions, but they didn't refund my money like they should have. I dropped my landline and was therefore not monitored for two months and they didn't contact me to let me know until the day after I called them.

I had a door replaced and the wireless contact did not work after removing it from the old door, probably due to the fact that I dropped it. I called Guardian to have a service person come and look at the device. Guardian received a meassage from the device telling them that the battery needed to be replaced. When I talked to Guardian, they assure me that they had placed a noted for the service person to check the battery on the device because a replacement device cost $80.00. (BTW, I looked up the exact device on the internet and found it for $35.00.) The service person arrived and sat in my driveway in his vehicle for over 10 minutes (for which I was charged the time) and came to my door with big dirty boots. I asked him if he had shoe covers or would mind removing his shoes and he went back to his vehicle for several minutes to retrieve some shoe covers. He then came back in and after I told him that the contact did not work he said that it would have to be replaced. I told him that the device battery was supposed to be checked first and he informed me that he had no batteries with him. He offered to return to his office to obtain a battery (while I paid him for his time) but when I complained he called his office and ended up going back to his vehicle to remove a battery from a new device to check if that was the problem. This took another 10 minutes. He then informed me that the old device was faulty and would need to be replaced, but had no two-way tape with him and returned to his vehicle to cut a piece of tape. All of this time I was paying him for time and material. He finally stuck the device on the door and then presented me with a bill for $180.00. I have used this company for years, but now they want $1600.00 for me to cancel the 5 year contract I had to sign when I moved to the current house last year. This company is not what they were when I started using them over 10 years ago and they obviously don't appreciate loyal customers. Beware before signing a long term contract. If anything goes wrong with your equipment you will pay dearly!!
