Mitch called 30 minutes prior to arriving. Arrived on time, took shoes off, very professional, took the time to pick the best option. He worked with our internet carrier to solve the issue. He installed equipment at no charge. He made you "want to be a lifelong learner". I understand the system 100% more now. Mitch needs to be a "team lead" or manager.
Description of Work: Extended our contract and received updated and newer equipment. Two months out had WiFi connection problems. Could not resolve over the phone with trouble shooting.

I have been using him at three properties. I have used them for 15 years. They give a military discount. They give free upgrades, they are loyal. I am locked in to my price, nobody else will match it. No issues, perfect record.

Although the installation was OK, the system failed to perform as promised. In the end, it turns out that Guardian is extremely unprofessional, deceitful, and provides a product that is unreliable.

If you have a false alarm go off because someone burnt popcorn or a piece of toast - dont expect to get through to their phone lines in enough time to stop the fire department from knocking on your door! And be ready to commit your life to one of their payment plans - even if you dont own your home anymore.
Description of Work: BUYER BEWARE!!! The Sales team at Guardian are just a manipulative as a used car sales man. The devil is in the details in their contracts and they hide lots of things here. We are moving from our single family home in Virginia to a new home out of state that is not yet built. So we will be in temporary housing until it is. The Account Manager I spoke to told me I can NEVER cancel my contract - that I am in the middle of a 3 year contract I signed in 2016 and even if I have no home to be monitored I still have to pay the monthly fee. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? She said she can transfer it to my new home when its built --- I was willing to consider this until she told me of their manipulative contract language. I do not want to do business with a company that has the contract processes with such manipulative contract language. NEVER AGAIN!!!! STAY AWAY unless you want to commit to a lifetime of payments for services you will never receive.

They were excellent and very prompt. Took their time with us to get everything setup appropriately and answer questions. The workers were excellent.
Description of Work: We used them probably 3 or 4 years ago. They put in a home alarm system. It was $120 or something like that.

Technician was friendly and professional and walked me through the technology, etc. Guardian Rep that scheduled the appointment and got me signed up was very responsive and guided me through the whole process as well.

They do a fine job. I don't have any problems with them. Service is responsive when there has been an issue. The reason the rate is slightly higher than average is because we have the fire alarm attached as well and they monitor that too.

There was an initial meeting with the sales person. Installation was scheduled for the system about a week later. Everything was fine. The sales person was great. He gave us a lot of different options. He listened to what we said our concerns were and our needs were. He did a walk-thru of the house and gave us all the information that he thought that would work best. The salesperson came out and was at the house and it took a few hours. He also was good. He went over all of the equipment with me, helped me decide on a few other things that we had added, you know what was the best location to put certain key pads and things throughout the house. They were all very professional. Right on time.

September of 2016 is the last time I used them on the 17th. They put in an alarm system. The service cost is $33 a month. I would not use them again.

My experience with guardian protection services was awful. I had a large system put in my home in July of 2016 They got their money. Today the keypad entry lock on my back door just quit working. The key nor the keypad would unlock the door. The main keypad, my phone app and the lock itself all showed it unlocked but it would NOT unlock. I called my sales rep and he was NO help. I called customer service and they rambled off their preplanned speech and was no help. They said they couldn't get anyone here for two days! I asked if they understood I could NOT get in my home. They said yes sorry. Ridiculous. And that when they did come I would be charged time and materials. I do not understand how I should be charged for your equipment that should last longer than eight months or less. Very sad to take so much money from someone upfront and monthly then charge me to repair something that should have been better quality and lasted longer than less than eight months. I could not even get in my home! Very disappointing and frustrating to say the least. I will continue to share my experience with anyone anywhere I can. I feel this was just wrong and unethical to say the least. My initial investment was $1500+ and I pay $49 monthly for three years! for the service.
Description of Work: I purchased a home security system in July of 2016 for my home. One of the pieces of equipment purchased was a locking keypad on my back door. Today the keypad just quits working. The number pad says its unlocked, my phone app and home keypad says its unlocked but the dead bolt just wouldn't unlock. I called my sales rep who was NO help. I called customer service who was also nonchalant and no help They could not get anyone out to my house for TWO days! And I would be charged for "time and materials"!! I asked if they understood I can NOT get in my home They clearly did not care and recited their preplanned speech. I understand equipment doesn't last forever but this is ridiculous Should last more than 8 months for what they charge. Very disappointed and I will continue to tell anyone who will listen how sad and unethical your service is after you get your up front money

I have had Guardian in my home since May 2014. Up until October 2016, I was happy with their service. Then I began having problems with the motion detector. They've now sent 4 techs out and can't resolve my problem. And the last two appointments were scheduled for 8 am to noon. Twice they have failed to show up when scheduled, never called to say they were running late, and never offer an apology. Twice they were more than two hours late. Their service has deteriorated significantly, and I no longer trust the quality of their equipment. Today I called to make sure they didn't auto renew my three-year contract. They noted my account but never asked me why I was unhappy or tried to resolve it in any way.

Once I had moved to the new residence, Guardian Protection Services insisted that I execute a new and different contract to continue monitoring - also extending my monitoring obligation beyond the June 2017 term of the initial contract. When I refused to enter a monitoring contract with new terms, the business refused to transfer monitoring and also refused to refund my prepaid amount. When the company agreed to limit the term of the new monitoring agreement to the initial June 2017 term and to include that the terms of the original monitoring agreement superseded the new agreement, I acquiesced to transfer monitoring and to have new equipment installed. I agreed on a date and 4 hour window for installation of the new equipment, 8 - 12:00, November 22 with a call 30 minutes before arrival. At 11:45 on November 22 when it became apparent that the technician would not make it within the appointed window, I called customer service. They said a technician would call shortly. No one did. I contacted customer service again requesting a refund of my prepaid money for the monitoring I had not and would not receive - September 2016 through June 2017. The company refused to refund my money.
Description of Work: I contracted with this business for alarm monitoring for a residence. I prepaid for the monitoring services through June 2017. I have had their services for more than five years and it had been extremely responsive. In the midst of the contract term, I moved to a new residence and requested monitoring be transferred to the new residence. Monitoring at the previous residence was stopped in September 2017.

Price is a little high. I am not really happy with them. I would totally recommend to stay away from this company. This company contracts are long. I am still paying the bare minimum monthly fee, even though I have unhooked all their equipment and not even using it. They are basically getting paid for nothing.

We signed a 5 year contract, big mistake. Once you are hooked they charge exorbitant prices for extra sensors. They also force you to buy from them and will not allow the consumer to install the sensor, which in most cases is peeling off a piece of tape and sticking it into place. These are very poor business people. You cannot reasonable cancel your service before the contract ends. Say you have 3 months left and want to change vendors. You pay the last 3 months (fair enough). You cannot completely cancel until the third and last month is up. If you want to cancel immediately they will charge you like $1200. To me this is extremely unprofessional and makes no business sense at all. Why keep a customer in a string if you already have the money?? There are other vendors that have better policies for less cost than this one.

Wayne was very polite and professional, called before his arrival and was on time.
