Description of Work: After signing up for a home security service, I was enrolled with Guardian for the monitoring of the system, hence the monthly $47 fee. They have routinely let me know when my system is exhibiting a problem, such as low battery. I have had one incident where the home was broken into, when Guardian needed to notify me. Notification was first to my wife's cell phone, but she was out of town, but when she did not answer, they called my cell phone, at which time I OK'd them calling the police to respond. By that time, the intruder had left my home, so notifying the police could have been faster, although response is limited to how fast the police can respond also. |When contacted to upgrade my system with some new sensors, Guardian quoted me what I thought were rather high prices, considering I am often approached by other companies offering entirely new upgraded systems for free, in order to get me to switch monitoring companies. I have been tempted to switch to get the free upgrades, but when reviewing the process to end the Guardian monitoring, I have not wanted to start the hassle. |Contacts with Guardian have always resulted in conversations with pleasant and helpful service representatives, and that is one of the reasons I have stayed with Guardian. |

Description of Work: This is a good security service. My only complaint is that you're locked in for 5 years, then if they don't raise the price, you're rolled into another 5 years with no warning. I intend to check with them on this at renewal.
