Guardian Protection

The two installers from Guardian came to my house and suggested convenient positions for the placement of the security system. I asked how long it would take and they said 3 hours. I left to have my car serviced. The salesman, Vernon Dotson, came by while I was gone and left a form for me to sign. They called when they were almost finished. The installation was done promptly and the house was clean when they finished.

My mother signed the contract...previous comment says they didn't have to sign one. Miraculously the contract is now under my name. I have consistently asked for proof that I signed the contract only to be blown off, now I am stuck in a contract that I never signed. The service is good, but I wonder how I can be forced into a contract that I never signed. If I can ever get out of it I will cancel and go with another company. This company plays games.

What a mess! My salesperson told me my cat wouldn't set off the "pet sensitive" motion sensor. Guess what? Cats do set it off and everybody at Guardian except my salesperson knew it. I had to learn that after the alarm got set off, and the police responded, while I was at work out of county. A couple of months later, the alarm started going off in the middle of the night for no reason. After an aggravating experience talking with their "customer service" department in the middle of the night on Friday, they told us we could pay to have a service person come to our house on Monday. When the serviceperson arrived, he said there wouldn't be a charge, as it was poor installation (by Guardian) that resulted in the malfunction.

The initial contact was with a salesman. He was very nice and not pushy, but he admitted that he did not know some things about the system. He worked with us to design a system and provide discounts to get us into the range that we wanted. The monitoring fee ($26.95/mo + $5/mo for warranty) was $5-10 lower than other quotes. There were a few problems with the install: They showed up about an hour late; they did not put a delay on the back door (we were told that this is standard, but we were not warned about this); and the glassbreak detector was too sensitive (leading to a couple of false alarms; in fact, I'd recommend against a glassbreak detector based on this experience). When we called to have the problems fixed, they were fast and helpful. The system now works fine, and we are very satisfied with the final product even if the process was not perfect. The monitoring company (Guardian) has been great in our contacts with them, but we wish we could charge our monthly bill.

They came out and installed the system in no time. They did a good job and signed a contract for security monitoring three years.

After you intervened on my behalf they very reluctantly agreed to let me buy out the remaining time for $250.00. Although this was a financial hardship for me, I sent the $250.00. Then they sent me a form to sign and return which I did on 2/19. They were then supposed to return their signed copy to me. It took two more phone calls from me before they finally sent the paper on 4/4. Hopefully I am finally rid of this company. They are certainly not customer friendly and I would not recommend them to anyone.

Kirk was very professional, from start to finish. He was very helpful in explaining the process, and overseeing the installation of the system. He went over all the paperwork, and answered all questions that we had with much knowledge! I would refer him to any potential clients! (A+ for service).

Excellent. I called them on Saturday morning and Kirk was at our house that afternoon. He went through the different options and provided us with the first 6 months of monitoring at no cost. The price after that was less than what I was paying at my last house and Guardian does not outsource the monitoring. We wanted to get a technician out to our house within two weeks and Kirk made this happen - despite being down two technicians! Tommy came to our house on time and spent the time evaluating our current system and coverage and made some recommendations. We ended up installing an additional wireless smoke detector. He was very helpful and neat in his work. He explained the system completely to us and made sure he answered all questions before leaving.

Excellent! I had expected holes and damage to the walls since the house had not been pre-wired. Yet, Jacob's professional installation was perfect. There was not a single hole, mark or mess left as a result of his professional installation.

This price reflects a 2002 pricing. The monthly price has not changed since I've had it installed back in 2002. They are so nice. I've accidentally set off the alarm, they called immediately. The alarm scared the daylights out of me because it is so loud!! The gentleman made sure that I was OK, calmed me down and was very polite. They also do periodic checks to make sure everything is working OK.

The company advised us that it would not do work without a monitoring contract. This disappointed us, but the company was kind enough to refer us to someone who would fix our door alarms, and he did a great job. We appreciated their honesty and assistance with finding another alarm repairman.

Chad was very helpful in explaining the whole process. The boxes were all installed in the correct place. Although there was a problem with connecting the phone initially, service technicians were sent out the next day to resolve the problem.

Guardian provides horrible service. We have a "cellular back-up failure" multiple times each week. This means that we do not have any service, and we also receive phone calls at all times of the day and night when it happens. We are no longer able to have anyone on our emergency call list because they were tired of being harassed. We had to force Guardian to send out a service tech months ago and it still does not work properly.

This was the first time in four years I have had them come out to service my security system. I was having a problem with it going off as a false alarm two years ago. The technician assured me that it was not the system but that other things might have set it off.

Salesman (Vernon) was very professional. Told us what he recommended but was not at all pushy about making a sale. Installers worked quickly and cleaned up all messes. Guardian was recommended to us by a neighbor and we would definitely recommend them to others. Their monthly monitoring fee is the lowest we found.

It all started out good, and one monitor wasn t working, so they tried to fix it three times. It still doesn t work right. It was set off a year ago. Nobody called or came by to see if everything was ok, but it s because the monitor was messed up. The service is not as good as it should be, so I probably would not recommend them.

THEY INSTALLED THE ALARM WELL. I AM VERY SATISFIED WITH THE SERVICE AND BETTER THAN ANY ALARM SERVICE THAT I'VE EVER HAD. NOW I DON'T HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT ANYTHING GETTING STOLEN.

We would highly recommend this company and the salesman, Mr. Ricker. A-1 service.

Estimate was high compared to similar systems. ($1200)

They were professional, relatively punctual, and competitively priced.

Guardian has always done a great job. They have come to our business to repair a faulty door alarm, their monthly fees are reasonable, and they did not make us sign a contract for a specific time period. They have been very helpful when we have experienced any difficulties, and have always contacted us when alarms have gone off.

Salesman was quick to respond and quick to help us keep the price fair but competitive. Our salesman added bonus as we added more features to our home.

Kirk was great to work with. He wanted to know basically what we wanted, took a look around the business, then told us what would and wouldn't work and why. No hard sell. We had an existing fire system that had been disconnected years ago, but Kirk said they could check the units and the wiring, then hook them up to work in our new system, saving us money not having to buy new fire sensors. Price was fabulous! Our installer was also terrific. He made suggestions, asked opinions, and was quick, quiet and clean. We've been very pleased with Guardian's service, but I hope there is never a need to use it.

Installed security systems for several people I know. All friends are very happy with service and especially the quick response time on an accidental alarm.
