Guardian Protection

The person who answered the phone at approximately 9:30 p.m. on a Saturday evening was INCREDIBLE!!! I explained my problem and told him that I would understand if he couldn't help me since I was not a customer of Guardian. In less than 30 seconds, he told me what I needed to do and the beeping stopped. It was a wonderful example of superior customer service despite the fact that I'm not currently a paying customer. I will contact Guardian to provide the monitoring service for my security system. CSA Networks should take a page out of Guardian's customer service book because I will be singing the praises of Guardian.

This was the second system I've had installed in a house. The estimate was made to my needs, the work was done promptly and was to order!

The alarm system came with the house but we're not sure if the previous owners had used it in sometime. Guardian was professional and were on time for the appointment. We ended up signing a 2 year contract with them.

They were excellent, very professional, showed up right on time! They have been willing to communication and clarify any information sense then.

I wanted a security system for a home I purchased. My insurance agent recommended Kirk at GPS as he is one of their preferred vendors. He was able to fit me in on a tight schedule and he and the installers were very professional and courteous. They also agreed to accommodate a multi-part install while I awaited new windows. One of the installers accidentally nicked a wall; he apologized and agreed to repair it. To show you just how above and beyond Kurt is willing to go, he arranged to come out for the estimate while my real estate agent and I did the final walk-through. My house is full of nooks and crannies and I found a hidden door at the back of one of the closets. Curious, I opened it up and SCREAMED when I saw a chalk white face with human teeth staring back at me. My agent and I were too scared/squeamish to touch it. Kurt gallantly removed the object; a mask placed there by the owner's daughter, an artist who creates with human teeth and has a sense of humor!

Very well - the person spent a lot of time thoroughly checking the alarm system and fixing some things that were wrong with it. He also went over the alarm system in detail to make sure that I knew how to work it before he left.

Great. He was very professional & knowledgeable about his products & what would work for us. We even changed the contract after he left with no hitches.

Kirk Booher did an excellent job of reviewing our current system and preparing an estimate to change. He showed up on time and was very professional. The installers were excellent. Everything installed seems to be working properly. The only negative was timeliness. My installation window was 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., and the installers arrived at 10:45. (The roads were not snowy or icy.) Also, I would have appreciated a little more instruction from the installers on the use of equipment, particularly the speaker phone, which wasn't on our old system. (They did leave manuals for both the regular system and voice module.) In the final analysis, the quality of the work was first-rate, and that is more important to us than anything else. And we ended up with a more up-to-date system, at about the same net up-front cost that our previous monitoring company wanted to change our cell phone back-up to digital. Also at a slightly lower monthly monitoring charge.

So far so good for the most part. Like many others have said WATCH them with their contracts, they can be very sneaky about roping you into something you never actually agreed to. Read EVERYTHING they give you thoroughly before you sign so you know what you're getting into. We've not had a problem with that personally, but know others who have. We have had absolutely no complaints with the monitoring or customer service, both have always been stellar in our experience. We have had three alarms since we've had the service and they've always been right on top of getting the police out to check makes me feel safer when I'm home alone. One problem: We can't leave the motion sensors on. Our cats & dogs trip them even though nothing under 50 pounds is supposed to; our 17 pound cat sets it off every time. They've been out to check and alter the settings but it's still a problem so we just leave them off. Our monitoring price has stayed the same since 2004, which is nice.

Kirk Booher is an outstanding representative for the company. He sets a new standard for customer service. I called (after an unfortunate burglary in my home) and Kirk came to my house the next evening and reviewed all of their capabilities as a company. He made some recommendations to update my current system and the system was installed the following week. The installers were professional and diligent and stayed late to make sure everything was working properly. Great company - great service.

Excellent service! Kirk patiently walked us through the equipment we would need, how the service would work, and assured us that he could work with our existing equipment. He was very factual and did not try to scare or push us into additional features. We felt he was incredibly honest and focused on providing value to us. A week or so later, his technicians arrived at the very beginning of the three hour block we were given, installed the additional equipment including a new alarm horn because they felt our existing one was not loud enough (but didn't charge us for it!), and walked us through the operation of the system. They were very thorough and made sure to answer all of our questions. Finally, Kirk sent us a handwritten thank you note and called us to make sure we were completely satisfied. We were extremely pleased with the whole experience! Side note, another vendor wanted us to replace 11 smoke detectors at $58/piece!

Great. Met with sales staff who gave me a good discount and price. Installers came out and completed work on time.

Kirk Booher was extremely professional, knowledgeable, and prompt. He was much more of a consultation expert than a salesman, meaning that he had answers to all of our questions and was never trying to push products on us. This company has a solid infrastructure and a good product. The installation team was also professional, on-time, and knowledgeable. I did a lot of research on local alarm companies (even had another come to the house and present) and I know we made the right choice in choosing Guardian. Their staff and their service left nothing to desire.

I was a bit uneasy during the install as I knew holes would have to be cut into my very old plaster walls but I worried for nothing. The installers did an incredible job and even cleaned up the plaster dust before leaving. During the next few weeks, I did set off my alarm once by mistake....I opened my front door during a storm to secure an outside screen door and when I came back into my house, the sirens were going off. Nine seconds later the company called to see if I was OK or needed help....which answered the question in the back of my mind whether anyone was really monitoring me! I think a 9 second response time is outstanding! So far I have been extremely pleased with my decision to choose Guardian.

The installation and monitoring was fine. However, when the military decided to move us after one year in our home they refused to allow us to cancel the contract. Yes, we signed a 3 year contract and their rep on site assured us that there would be no problem with canceling if we had to move, it was understood. In 13 years of moving we have never had a company refuse to work with us when we got orders to move. The phone was disconnected on the 5th of October and we sent them a letter giving 30 days notice paying through the end of that month. They continue to bill us for a house that we no longer live in, that does not have a working phone line and that they are not monitoring. I have contacted the customer service center several times and even suggested that the current residents could assume that account. Until that happens they refuse to work with us on the issue of billing and continue to bill us. They say it have never been a problem before. I can't recommend this company.

They have always been on point with you.

It's nice that they are a full service alarm company. We have smoke detectors installed along with the regular alarm system that they watch. They were recommended by the home builder and have been very good for us so far.

Some glitches but they are very helpful and prompt in sending people out to troubleshoot.

We contracted with Guardian while our house was undergoing a complete gut renovation based on representations from the salesman. We also added our second house at the same time. Although I'm a lawyer, I signed their contract without reading it. The contract includes two legal-sized pages of small print. Nearly all the provisions protect Guardian, shift risks the customer cannot control to the customer and tie the customer's hands. We now have to keep paying Guardian for the house we don't own any more. If Guardian causes damage because of its own negligence, its liability is limited to $1,000. If somebody else sues Guardian in connection with its system or services at your house, YOU have to pay the claim AND Guardian's attorneys fees. If Guardian sues you, you have to pay its collection costs. Guardians says its "critical" that you give it at least 30 days written notice before the termination date of the contract in order to actually terminate. Read the contract.

I have been using Guardian since I moved into this home. I feel pretty safe with them and I have no real problems at all. The customer service is very good and they are very helpful for us. They are great people and I have no concerns at all about continuing my services with them.

One time the alarm went off and I was in the house by myself, so they stayed on the phone with me the entire time until the police arrived. They were wonderful and it was a blessing that I had them because I feel much safer when I'm at home alone.

Guardian is always great; they are responsive and concerned and their customer service is fantastic. I feel safe and secure knowing they are looking out for me and if I ever have a problem with the equipment, they always come right away.

We called our salesperson for Guardian because a friend knew him. He came to the house and gave us an assessment of what we needed. We felt the price was good and signed the contract. When we signed the contract, we told the salesman we wanted him to stop by to make sure the special needs were taken care of. The installer arrived and tried to get a hold of the salesperson because he had questions and needed some paperwork that the salesperson had not provided. We also called and left messages for the salesperson. He never showed up or called us back. We found out from the installer that the salesman did this as a side job and had another full time job with another company. Luckily, we had a great installer. He did a good job of installing our system. We had just restored our house so we did not want the walls torn up. The installer was very careful and did not damage anything. The service is great. I would not work with our salesman again. The customer service is excellent.

We have had Guardian Protection Services monitor our alarm system for a while now. They are always quick to call us back if the alarm was tripped. We are very happy with the service that they provide and would highly recommend them.

Guardian Protection Service Incorporated has been very responsive and prompt. They called immediately when the alarm went off and I do feel safer having their service. The only negative thing is that they seem to charge you through the nose for any additional changes you may want.
