Guardian Protection

When the installers came in we told them that we had pets in the house, and the cats had to not trip the system, and they have not succesfully set it that way. We've had them in twice to work on the sensitivity of the alarm so the cats won't set it off, and they haven't been sucessful. So we have to lock the cats up every time we go out becuase they trip the alarm. When the cats have tripped the alarms they made many attempts to get ahold of us before they send the police out. We have had one dispatch and we got a warning for a false alarm, so if it happens again we have to pay for it.

They are very knowledgeable and courteous. The service men are very professional

We were very happy with the work that this comoany did for me. They came out & gave us an estimate & explained what they did & why they did it as well. They had very fair prices & they helped us resolve some prior issues as well.

The technician was very thorough and fixed the problems. We haven't had any issues since and are pleased with the result.

I really like them. Whenever I open the door and forget to turn the alarm off, they call within a minute or two. I have never had a problem and I've been with them for 2+ years. I will always use them.

Very happy with the equipment Guardian offers and the pricing. Though a few problems with punctuality-sales guy simply missed the first appt, over 1 hour late to contract signing, installation technician was over 1 hour late and did not finish installing that day as planned. The technician told me the keypad did not support a 'go to bed' type setting (perimeter armed, motion armed; instant on). He said it was a flaw in their system; read in the book after he left that it does support it...He just didn't know.

We contacted 3 security companies. We were initially going to use another company (Brinks) because they were $200 cheaper. However, we later learned that company was not 100% truthful regarding their policies. We went with Guardian because our sales person seemed to be the most straight forward. I am happy with our decision and have not had any major issues (see note below) with the Guardian service. Note: Make sure you order all the needed sensors because the cost is outrageous if you find out later you need another one ($250 each!!!). This happened to us. We needed an additional sensor (I partially blame the sales person since he is trained on where these sensors should be placed). Of course, when we called our sales representative, he claimed he could do nothing. Make sure you take advantage of the sales person and get the best deal before signing the paper work.

We are having an alarm/fire system installed. Guardian's price was comparable to other companies' and we liked that they are a Pittsburgh-based company. Our rep worked out the best way for us to bundle what we wanted to get the best price. It is taking a long time to get installed (over a month, and counting) but we weren't in a super-big hurry.

A few weeks ago someone from their company called to see how our service was going and if we needed any signs or stickers. We did need a new sign so within a couple of days we received it, along with stickers in the mail. When our alarm has gone off, due to small children & tired adults, they always call within 2-3 minutes. We've been very happy with our system and the company.

I have had Guardian for 7+ years. I had the system installed when I purchased the house. This spring, I obtained a protection from abuse order against a person who had assaulted and threatened to kill me. I found the red dot on the alarm showing it was active very comforting when I awake in the middle of the night. It is the first thing my eyes seek when I awaken. Recently, I had a sensor go bad and called to schedule a service appointment. I was told it would be a week until someone could get here. The system allows for a by-pass but I also have a special-needs child who doesn't handle things like the alarm well. I had to to disconnect it completely when the sensor went bad. I was very anxious about a whole week without the alarm. I explained the situation to customer service that first night. They said a week was the best they could do, but they would put me on a cancellation list. About 10:30 pm, "Corey" from customer service called to tell me that he had reworked a schedule and that some one would be here the next day. I was so impressed at how he had taken the time to do that for me. I slept with my bedroom door locked as well as all the other doors that night, but I was comforted with knowing it would only be one night. The next day came, and by 7:00 pm, no one showed up for the call. I contacted customer service and they indicated something hadn't happened with the ticket that needed to happen for the call to have been scheduled. They told me October 1st. Again, I explained the situation. This rep put me on hold. She came back and said she had talked to her supervisor and they would send someone right away, AND they would not charge me their usual emergency rate. They would bill it at their daily rate. The tech came, fixed my alarm and I slept peacefully that night. Customer service is uncommon these days. Exceptional customer service is quite rare. This company provides exceptional customer service. Thank you Guardian for helping this customer sleep better.

Excellent. Kirk scheduled a meeting shortly after we contacted him. He clearly explained the options he recommended to meet our needs. The installers were very professional and answered questions patiently. Contacts with the customer service office were very pleasant. The CSR was friendly and answered further questions thoroughly. This is clearly a company that wants to serve its customers!

They did good job! The technicians were fine. They have responded when I have needed to call them.

It went very well. Kirk Booher was very responsive and met at our convenience. He was thorough in his explanations and not pushy about things we weren't interested in.

I felt very comfortable after Kirk went over all my options; he took the time to explain the whole process from start to finish. I would highly recommend Kirk if anyone is wanting or needing to get an alarm installed. His knowledge is outstanding. They were priced in the market, did a very good job, showed up on time and cleaned up after themselves. They also do the on-line monitoring for fire and smoke.

BE AWARE of their auto renewal contract for 51 months! They DO NOT notify you in any way (invoice note, email, phone, USPS) that your contract is up for renewal until you see the price increase on your bill. The contract could go on indefinitely! Unethical practice if not illegal. Guardian refused to negotiate to a win-win outcome (even contacted the CEO with no response) even after we told them we do not want to be their customer any longer. Completely unreasonable! Did not perform annual maintenance check (as per the contract, but they do not consider that a breach). The only way they can sell their product seems to be by trickery and underhanded business practices. No concern for customers nor team work.

Everything went like clockwork. The installers were courteous and prompt. They installed our system flawlessly and it is still working great today. The quote was accurate as in (no surprises). We were so impressed that when when we inherited some property in Dec. 2007 we called Mr. Booher again for a system. This transaction went as smoothly as the first one. We now have both systems up and running and feel very secure when away (or at home). It's rare these days to find companies that really live up to their claims. I salute Guardian and Mr. Booher for GREAT service!

Overall the project went very well.

They are wonderful. Anytime the alarm goes off they are immediately right there to take care of the problem. Their customer service is great. Also their billing is very convenient and I am happy with it. Everything about them is great!

Contacted Guardian by phone and Kirk set up an appt to come to the house for an estimate. Kirk gave us the estimate and much information on their products. We took a day or two to think about it, and then scheduled a time to sign the contract and choose what items we wanted. Kirk set up the appt time for us and the installers were on time and very professional. We have been very pleased with our system and the professionalism from this company.

With the fire protection if there is any cause of concern when it come to smoke or fire they call us to make sure everything is ok. This is a very good plan for us because my mother in law leaves with us and when we are gone we know she is ok. We pay monthly on this service.

I had read all of the good reviews on Angie's List. After researching a few companies, I gave them a call and they came to my house to give me recommendations of services that I might need. I thought that they were thorough and concerned. I had them install the unit.

The person that gave me the estimate listened and accommodated me very well. The workers were very thorough and neat. It was a difficult and tricky job that the workers overcame. Despite their best efforts the flood lighting system is not working 100% correctly.

They were easy to get along with. They explained everything in great detail to me. The installation work was done in a professional manner. I was satisfied overall.

He gave me all kinds of discounts, so I was really impressed by that. The discounts are for the initial installment. The monitoring is less than some other major alarm companies. Vernon is really professional and a really nice guy. He will answer all of your questions and phone calls.
