Guardian Protection

Kirk was wonderful! He came to our home on a Saturday and sat down with us to find out our needs. We recently had a break in and wanted an alarm installed ASAP. He spent a lot of time explaining all the options and what he thought would best suit our needs. We really appreciated him listening to us and not trying to push add'l products. Kirk was extremely professional, courteous and punctual too! We set up a time for install and the company was able to fit us in an earlier time slot as well. Our install tech, John, was great as well. He explained how the system works, helped us set up our online account and cleaned up after everything he did. We highly recommend Guardian and will continue to use them in the future.

It went well, I was surprised how much care they took in testing everything. Very thorough and professional.

We received the company name through a community association and asked for an estimate. The salesperson was punctual, congenial, and knowledgeable. We received a fair price estimate and the cost was exactly what was quoted. The installation went without a hitch and was probably one of the smoothest installations of anything ever to occur at our house. The installer was friendly, efficient, and professional. The installation was exactly what had been estimated by the salesperson (which is highly unusual, in our experience). The company (and the individual salesperson) kept contact with us for the entire pre-installation period to ensure that all appointments were clear. We particularly like the fact that Guardian runs (and does not outsource) its own call center. More importantly, they understand fail-over and disaster recovery of data center sites. This is highly critical for a company doing 24x7x365 monitoring -- it does no good to monitor if your data center goes dark in a thunderstorm.

I continue to be completely satisfied.

We got a Guardian alarm system for home security. They have not provided home security. The alarm went off one night at 5 PM. Guardian did not call until 9 PM to see if we were okay. Another time, the alarm went off and instead of calling the house they called the police. The alarm had gone off because of a power failure. If they had followed procedure and called our cell phone, it would have saved a call to the police. These are just examples of the problems we have had with them. Our system has never worked properly since we had it installed. We are unhappy with the service and do not recommend them.

Alarm support person was very arrogant when their keypad malfunctioned. They require a three year contract and you must give them written notice 30 days in advance of expiration to cancel, otherwise it renews for another year and they will not release you before that. Angie's list was able to get them to cancel. Avoid this company!

They have been very helpful and very reactive to my needs. They rushed out and were very accommodating. I did have a problem down the road that they were able to take care of with out charge.

When we had a need to replace windows in our home, we decided it was time to review our alarm needs and current service. Overall, this was a very positive decision and experience. Kirk came to our home and offered his recommendations to upgade the system, and add monitored smoke detectors to better protect our pet when we are not home. Kirk had the answers to all our questions and was professional, pleasant and gave the impression he truly wanted our business! On the day of installation of the new equipment, everything went very smooth. The gentleman who handled the installation was also, pleasant, professional and eager to please. Everyone from Guardian made this a good experience and we would highly recommend their services!

It was a great experience from the first call through installation of the system. We met with Kirk and he explained where the different components would go and how they worked. We discussed what exactly we were looking for and he designed the perfect system for us. The installer was efficient and easily led us through a demo of the system.

After using Guardian in our previous home and having a good experience, we decided to use them again on our new home. The salesman and service man met us at the home while under construction. We walked through the house, the salesman seemed in a hurry and rushed us through the job. All sensors were installed later, but we were never shown how to use the keypad, which was a different model than the one we had at our previous home, and we were not given an instruction booklet. The salesman told us to call him sometime and he would come show us how to use the system. We called the salesman, Bert Henry, multiple times to schedule a time for him to show us how to use the keypad. He stood us up THREE times in a row. A call to customer service to request an instruction booklet was responded with the promise to both email and snail mail a booklet. We only received the email version. Additionally, one window (which admittedly was not on the original house plan, but was present during the walk-thru) was left without a sensor and leaves us vulnerable. We have now been calling the salesman for MONTHS without response, except assurances that he will "get right on it". He did actually come back to the house once to bring us an instruction booklet, which was printed off of a computer on legal sized paper, saying, "We didn't have any of the pre-printed booklets." I have had less patience about this than my husband, and I am ready to switch to another company. I feel that the last year of monitoring fees has been wasted, even though I was willing to split the cost for someone to come out and install the remaining window sensor. The customer service reps on the phone are very polite and considerate, but only refer us back to our salesman. Our last contact with the salesman was approximately 7/28/10.

Had Kirk out to explain our options and he seemed to put together a perfect fit for what we were looking for. He was very honest and forthright and did not try to "upsell" us on things we did not need. When the system was installed, Vlad showed up promptly on time and started installing. Took a lot less time than I thought and he was very courteous and explained everything in detail to make sure I understood how things worked. He came back a week alter to do the install on the upstairs keypad that was more entailed. Very pleased with the service I received. I also received a few extra perks that they advertise for being an Angie's list member which was nice.

The sales presentation was thorough and very well presented. All options were explained clearly. There was a careful assessment of the property and recommendations for equipment were made. Installation required two visits, as one of the units did not work properly and had to be replaced. The installer did an excellent job and the system, so far, is working properly. We thought the price was very reasonable.

Kirk was very positive about Guardian. He brought working samples of all equipment that could be installed and explained expertly how each worked. Even tested glass breakage sample to determine if could monitor 2 rooms. Installer, Duwan, was professional and a hard worker. I finally chased him out for lunch after he spent an hour in an extremely hot attic. He returned in half an hour and went right back to work. It took almost 7 hrs for the install. He cleaned up after himself if he drilled a hole or pulled wire. When finished, he explained how to set the keypad, gave me a written list of the zones with the corresponding numbers and answered all my questions. I did have to contact Guardian the next Monday because my door bell stopped working, but another tech came the next Saturday and within 1/2 hr it was working again. I also rec'd a call from the Guardian monitering service on Saturday notifying me that my free week of accidental alarms was ending and if any occured afterward, the appropriate first responders would be notified. Everyone at Guardian, from Kirk to the receptionist, was professional, considerate and very customer service oriented. Great company; great people.

I pay $33.87 per month. I have been unhappy with Guardian's services. They are a very sketchy company. My home has been broken into, as well as windows broken. Valuable property has been stolen. I feel as if Guardian does not want to solve my problems. I have tried to cancel my contract with Guardian. They said I could cut off my service, but I would have to pay about $1000 to cancel. I have a key FOB, but I suspect someone else has an additional key FOB as my home has been accessed by others without permission. They have called my daughter for personal information, such as my social security number. They cannot be trusted! I want Guardian out of my home.

I have been very satisfied with them.

Guardian Protection Services has been an excellent company with which to work. They are professional and responsive. The service professionals who come to my house have been very knowledgeable, and have custom-built a system for me based on my specific needs and concerns. I have contacted the company several times for various issues, and have always been given satisfactory service. I feel very well protected and secure knowing that my home is being monitored for forced entry and fire. It was also nice to get a break on homeowners insurance by having the system installed.

Was very smooth. I was cautious about such a system because I didn't want to be inconvenienced by a bunch of false alarms or hassled by such a system, but Kirk explained it to me thoroughly so I knew what to expect. He was very responsive in our phone conversations, prompt for our original meeting, took time answering my questions and figuring out what would work best, and was present at the beginning of the installation to make sure everything went smoothly. Randy did an excellent, thorough job on the install. Expert placement and installtion - excellent workmanship. Even though he was there all day - he worked efficiently and cleaned up everything. Wasn't a problem at all. Would recommend to anyone looking for the peace of mind of a security system. I can say that without hesitation now. We've had the system about 5 days and no false alarms. It works great for us. The placement of everything works great for us. Glad we did it.

I was glad that Kirk put the signs up right away and thought it was nice that he offered to do it. It took about 3 hours for them to install and I was not expecting that so it was kind of a pain but something that I am aware of in the future. I am happy that I went with Guardian in the end! 4/23/2012: Not anymore. I feel ripped off. Don't hire them!

The salesperson, Kirk Booher, was on time for his appointment with us. He accomodated our schedule by coming in the evening. He spent over 1 hour with us identifying our needs for an alarm system, investigating the house and access points for potential burglars, and reviewing the old system that was with the house before we bought it. He presented a thorough and complete option for an alarm system. He didn't put on the "hard sell" with a bunch of extra options, but seemed kind of upset when I wouldn't commit to signing up that night for his service. I told him we were evaluating a few other systems and would get back to him. He left pretty shortly after that and wasn't real friendly. However, when we called back to have him set up installation, he was very receptive and had the technician out to our house within a couple days. The technician was competent and took our personal preferences into account when installing the various components of the system. He even came back the next day to make sure we understood exactly how to use the system. Overall a good experience for a very good value system.

The analysis with Kirk Booher was very fair and straightforward. Installation went very well, although longer than anticipated, due to things inherent to my house. All the equipment works well and is easy to use. I have accidentally set off the alarm myself twice. Both times I was contacted by the company in under 45 seconds and received a text alert in about one minute.

Installation was efficient and quality. We had ordered a touch pad security control, which proved to be problematic. We could not always enter our code in time to avoid setting off the alarm. We replaced it wtih a traditional push button control and that works great. We would not recommend the touch pad even though it is more modern and classy looking. The monitoring service has been efficent. Everytime we set off the alarm we received a phone call from the monitoring stations within a minute.

Kirk was a little late, but it may have been a misunderstanding on my part. He was professional and knowledgeable. We walked around the house and he pointed out areas that were vulnerable. He carefully explained his products and was conscientious about saving me money. He reused some of the old security features by moving it to a different part of the house. He also gave me options on how to reduce my monthly bill. My friend recommended Kirk and I'm glad she did.

Kirk Booher spent a lot of time customizing the alarm system to meet our needs, while also keeping the installation cost down. As a result of Kirk's hard work, we were able to afford a much better system than we had before. We have only had one problem with the system since it was installed, and that issue was taken care of immediately at no cost to us.

It all went very well, Kirk arrived on time and told us all of the services he could provide. So far we have only had one incident with the alarm in which everyone was very polite. Overall, I definitely prefer Guardian to anyone else.

Very good experience! Kirk was very knowledgeable, but not alarmist. I never felt like he was trying to sell me on anything or make me feel afraid so I would upgrade my service. When I asked about outdoor lighting, he recommended an expert he had worked with in the past. The actual installer came out a few days later and had everything set up very quickly.
