Chris Marino came out and sold the me system. It was a very good experience. I recommended them to two neighbors and they also have had them install the system.

Existing system was evaluated to determine what components would have to be replaced to upgrade and reactivate old system. Changed out old and defective components. Then thoroughly tested and activated new system, followed by, training family members on how to use modern system.

Technicians were 2 hours late. There were two people, a senior and a trainee. Being late they worked hard to finish the job. I was there the whole time. When they finished they quickly showed me how the system works. I didn't feel like I understood how to work the system and was not pleased with the short time they spent showing me the operation. In the month after they installed the system I managed to have the police arrive because I didn't disarm the system and I entered the house. At least I found out that the system does work. The cops were understanding and considerate. I did speak with a company representative and registered my concerns but nothing came of it. The system is working and I and careful to arm and disarm it. I visit my house every day but do not stay long which is why I got the system. UPDATE 10/25: After I submitted the review they called me immediately and they came out Friday of last week. I met the technician at noon and he showed me how to use the system.

Overall it was a bad experience. I would avoid Guardian Security at any cost.

Overall they are very good in services and have great response time. Their services are well worth the cost.

I called Guardian to get a quote request for a home security system over the weekend. They were able to send somebody out for an appointment that Monday evening, and the alarm system was installed at my house within a few days. The customer service rep was on time, extremely nice, professional, knowledgeable, and answered all of my questions. He explained what products and services Guardian offers, exactly how the system works (I've never had a security system before), and gave me a deal on installation of only $100 just from mentioning I'm an Angie's list member. One downside is that when you sign up, you are locked into a 5 year contract. I wasn't exactly pleased about that part, but I went ahead and signed up knowing that I probably won't be wanting to cancel the service anytime soon barring any major problems with Guardian's specific service. The Guardian employee who installed the system was also prompt, professional and friendly. He explained how the system worked and answered all of my questions. The installation didn't even take that long - maybe an hour or so. Maybe a week or so later I did have a couple of questions, and their customer service rep over the phone was extremely helpful. When they install they system, they also give you a DVD with further instructions on your system, keypad, etc. I actually didn't find the DVD that helpful - it was extremely basic. That could either be more detailed, or they could provide customers with a basic instruction manual. They system itself seems to work great. Guardian offers a smartphone app to download which is very convenient. You can arm and disarm your system from your phone. You can also log into a website if needed and do the same thing. The service is $39.99 a month which is the highest I'd want to pay for a security system. I would recommend Guardian. They didn't seem pushy (like other companies I talked to), they were extremely helpful, and I have been very happy with the system so far.

We had Guardian come out just for a consultation, to learn about the services and bundles they offer. We were impressed and decided to go ahead with this alarm system for our house. They installed it right then, showed us how to use it and went through the online setup with us. We got a system which can be set by remote up to a mile away from the house, also by an app on your phone, and via the internet. We also got window break alarms installed to go off at the sound of shattering glass. The two men were very professional, did not push their services on us, and made sure we understood everything and were completely set up before they left.

I interviewed several security firms and settled on Guardian because they had good reviews, were in business for long enough to make me comfortable that they would be around to continue service, listened to what i wanted not just tried to sell me all the bells and whistles and were the least expensive. They updated the original installation that they had done in 2000 when the house was built and have been monitoring it ever since. Happily, there have been no fires or thefts to test the system for real but I have had occasion to test it because of work I was doing in the house and I have no complaints with their monitoring facility personnel.

Everything is going well with the service and products. The monthly price for service is very competitive and we actually own the system. It also came with a lifetime warranty. Highly recommended company for home alarms.

The install was done on time and correctly. The security system has worked well since installation. I am very happy with the service they have provided.

They were extemely knowledgable and responsive and worked around construction at the house (even returning a second time) to do the install. The sales staff is excellent and was able to answer all the questions I had from researching alarm systems. I received several other quotes and found Guardian to be the best product and value by far. Service was excellent! I have been using the system for about a year and am very pleased.

They installed the system in our house. They were running a $99 special when they came out to install. They are johnny on the spot if there is a problem. If your alarm goes off they immediately call you to find out the reason.

. The representative did a great job explaining all of the available services. He came as scheduled and was always quick to answer phone calls or return calls. Our only problem was with the price. He made some calculation errors and quoted us a price that was below the actual cost. He explained the error at the time when he came to set up the installation. We would have felt better if he had called us immediately, when he realized his error. The installer was very good. He came as scheduled and explained all of his procedures. The installation took a lot longer than we thought because it was very difficult to test the window break sensors. We're glad they tested everything, but that testing needs to be improved. Any calls made to Guardian with questions were immediately answered. Everyone was very polite and professional. We are happy with the system.

I like that they call and remind me to check my system every once in a while. I would recommend them.

They come out when I need them. So far, they have been good to deal with.

I searched three different places and I liked their call center support the best. They have a very large presents in Pittsburgh. They are a very large company but they are local.

Guardian is a very unethical and unprofessional company. The highlights of my terrible experience with them are outlined below. · I met their salesman Bruce W at the home I would be renting to get a quote on installation of and monitoring for a security system. I got information about options and a price quote. · I decided to sign a contract with Guardian and Bruce sent me the paperwork, which was onerous. There were many forms, they were long, confusing, and all written in Guardian's favor. Thinking this was the industry norm, I decided to complete the forms and sign with Guardian. · I met Bruce on June 5 to sign the contracts. Several things changed from when I first met Bruce. I was initially quoted an installation fee of $263. For reasons that weren't clear, it was $299 on June 5. In addition, there was a $199 renters fee, for a total of $498. Bruce suggested that I not tell Guardian that I was renting the home in order to not pay the $199 renters fee. I declined as this was unethical and I felt it could negate my contract with Guardian in the event of a break-in or loss. · Bruce wanted my bank routing number to withdraw the $498 payment from my bank account. I said I did not want to give them access to my account and wrote a check for $498, which I gave to Bruce with the signed contract. Since I would not allow them to automatically withdraw the monthly monitoring fee from my bank account, Bruce said they would have to charge me an extra $1/month on the monitoring fee. · When I checked email later that day (June 5), I received a confirmation/receipt from Guardian regarding the automatic withdrawal of $498 from my checking account for the security system. You read that right - even though I handed Bruce a check for $498, Guardian put through an automatic withdrawal for $498 from my checking account and charged me twice. · I called Bruce and he insisted it was a mistake and they would not withdraw the money. I wanted to know why this happened - I paid extra to avoid automatic withdrawal for the monthly monitoring fee, I handed him a check, and they still made an unauthorized automatic withdrawal from my checking account. Bruce's reply was that this is their usual process - automatic withdrawal from accounts. He assured me they would bill me as I wished and not make automatic withdrawals. · Knowing I had 3 days to cancel, I told Bruce I would consider my options. However, I had no faith in Guardian to do the right thing and proceeded to cancel the contract. I had to go to my bank and put a stop payment on both the check and the unauthorized automatic withdrawal that Guardian submitted ($30 each). I had to fill out the cancellation forms and send them Express mail/return receipt requested to Guardian to have proof that I cancelled within the allowed 3 days ($29.85). · I called Bruce and told him that I wanted to cancel the contract. I asked him to send my check back. A week went by and I had not received the check. I called Bruce again and asked for the check; he said he would talk to the girls at the office to have them send me the check. It's now been over a month and I never received the check. · Bottom line - do not use Guardian!!! It cost me many hours and almost $90 to get out of the contract with Guardian. Save yourself the time, money, and aggravation and select another security company. The salesman I dealt with was unethical, suggesting that I lie to the company to save $199 on the installation fee. I was quoted one price but it was a higher price when it came time to sign the contract. The contracts were clearly written by lawyers and onerous. One you sign with them, they seem to only want to get access to your checking account and take your money. · If you are interested, I signed a contract with Independent Alarm of NJ. It was a far better experience; they have an honest, up-front business model, reasonable pricing, and paperwork that was much more readable. That will be my next review.

I chose them because I am here in North Carolina and they are all the way in Pennsylvania because its not a good idea to have your house monitored by a company close by. If they become a disgruntled employee, they know your passwords and have access to it so I wanted somebody who wasn't going to drive here from Pennsylvania. I also chose them because they have a good reputation. They have been responsive. Thank god that we haven't had a need for them but when the power goes out, or whatever, its like clockwork. The power goes out and within 5 minutes I get a call from them saying, "We are detecting that your battery is low." They are pretty on top of it.

Jim came into the house on time and didn't try to pressure us into buying anything and was alot cheaper than the other two companies that we were comparing , walked around and gave us suggestions about our system.

They installed it when I built the home. They have been very responsive, when I set it off accidentally. If I have a question or problem, they are very attentive to that as well. Two times, sensors have rusted because of rain and they were prompt in repairing them for me.

Overall we really like their services. They are reliable and responsive.
