We've had security system with them for 7 years now. It's $28 a month. We chose them because of an Angie's List recommendation. I've been happy with the service. We get an occasional false alarm. Right now we're kind of in a limbo. I had a very good experience with the customer service man on the phone. The technician is coming out Monday next week to check on some things. That is not yet resolved. My experience is a little tainted by the alarm going off at 1:30 this morning. I knew in the back of my mind that this is likely to be another false alarm, but you never know if the bad guys are in the house. The alarm makes a tremendous amount of noise and the phone rings after about a minute of that. We've getting false alarms for a few years. It's frustrating. The silly thing is you change the batteries or clean the unit and it doesn't happen again for months. They are good people, but I am not happy with the equipment.

After my home was broken into I had an alarm system installed by First Security. I had 17 windows and 3 doors alarmed. The window that had been broken hadn't been replaced yet so they just gave me a sensor for me to install, with no directions, after the window was replaced. They missed a window in my bathroom, which I didn't notice until later. They put a glass break sensor in my master bedroom, the location that they choose to place the sensor, on a 24 foot wall, was the one location that I was having a return put in for my furnace. Despite my objections they still placed it there for their own convenience. They ignored my objections so when the return was put in a sensor had to be removed. I contacted them to have the sensor replaced and was told they would have to come over when they were in the area. They never followed through with that. When I followed up with that I found out that First Security sold my 5 year contract to Guardian without telling me. Guardian told me they'd take care of it, but never called me about it or fixed it. They required that I continue to pay even though I was having problems, and now they won't do anything unless I renew my contract, even though I still have a year left in my contract. They have also informed me that if I go to another company for service, even if I continue to pay them, they will take legal action against me.

Loved working with Linda who did all of the arranging for set up. I felt the cost was a little pricey, but I am happy with the results. Biggest drawback was the multi-year commitment, but accepting that got me the best monthly price. The tech doing the installation was professional, patient, and friendly.

I've been with Guardian for around 8 years. Everything has been pretty good; until I had a problem. My problem is that my system died. The keypads are dead and the system is not functional. The first they could get a tech out to me was 2 weeks after my call for service. On this attempt, they failed to call and let me know a tech was on their way. I was at work. When I called Guardian to check on the appointment, they stated that the tech was already at my house and could not wait the 20 minutes it would take me to get there. So, we rescheduled. A week later is the next time they have to get someone out. A week later, I'm waiting at my house this time, and I call to check on the appointment. Tech has informed them that they cannot make the appointment. I was not notified. So, we rescheduled again. This time, I only have to wait 4 days. I called this morning to check the appointment. Everything was fine, and they had the right number to notify me. I'm waiting at home anyway; just to ensure I don't miss them. The tech is supposed to be here between 8 and 12. At 1:30, I call to check again. They say they will call me back. At 2:30, I call again. Guardian indicated they cannot get a hold of the tech and will contact me when they can. At 3:00, Guardian calls me back. The tech is not going to make it today. This is the third strike. I've been without service for a month. This is not what I pay them for. It took a lot of hassle, but I finally got them to send me a form to cancel my service. I will be contacting someone else today.

This whole thing is a nightmare! Around 2 years ago I had this system installed. When I called to have the system installed everything went fine . The man they sent out was a good salesman as was the installer. The problems didn't start right away but it was less than a year before the batteries started to fail in the sensors causing the system to report a break ins. I couldn't get to my phone as it was ringing because I am disabled so the police were called and guardian left a voice mail telling me what had transpired .I just find it hard to believe that with the type of technology we have today there isn't a better way. Anyway Ive had to replace batteries several times and now the main backup battery is dead! So the system is not sending and alarm but it starts to beep every 30 seconds or so just enough to drive you crazy and it sends me e mail alerts telling me the system detected a low battery in the main unit so if it can detect that low battery what gives with the others? I called guardian and explained my problem and after 10 min on the phone I was able with the help of the tech on the phone to get the beeping stopped and I made and appointment to have a tech come out today which was great EXCEPT they never showed up on the day they said they would .So I moved my schedule around and waited around all day for them until 10 minuets till 5 pm and I called and was told that someone called me on my so called primary number which its not and they knew this also because they have never failed to not ring my phone for anything else including the false alarms generated by failed batteries . I have given them one more chance to make this right but I am skeptical at best that they posses the ability to do so.

Nine years ago, Guardian installed a security system in my house. I wanted to upgrade the system to allow smartphone control. I spoke to a representative and they provided the paperwork/contract/terms and conditions. As with all contracts, read the fine print as I found a few minor errors and unacceptable general terms/conditions. While they would not modify the form contract, they did agree to add an addendum removing the objectionable language. Kudos to them. We scheduled an appointment that I needed to modify slightly. They were very accommodating. The technician arrived and immediately put on shoe covers. Always a good sign. The upgrade was completed with minimal interruption.
