Description of Work: Hired Summerhill to finish our basement. Signed a contract in January 2021, with a projected start date in February 2021. February came and went, they said they were delayed on another job. They gave new start date of mid-March. On March 8, 2021, they emailed me that they could start March 15, 2021, but needed more money that what was agreed to in the contract because “the price of wood increased”. There was no variable pricing provision in our signed contract, so I said no. I did offer to pay the extra amount as a performance incentive if they set a timeline for completion of the project. They “terminated” the contract because I didn’t “trust” them. Find someone else. As for Summerhill, enjoy my filing with the BBB!
