I joined Angie's List specifically to find a new plumber. Though Krout did not have a lot of reviews here, their office was literally around the corner from my house, so I selected them. When I went into their office the woman there seemed nice and friendly and told me they were friends with my neighbor, which impressed me enough to give them the work. I asked for 4 things: (1) repair a toilet that wouldn't flush, (2) replace a leaking garbage disposal, (3) investigate a water leak in my kitchen, (4) let me know if they could do an energy audit on my house. As my oil heat bill is killing me, and Krout delivers heating oil, I thought they might be able to help me with this last item particularly. Unfortunately they struck out on 2 out of 4, and over-charged for the 2 jobs they did complete. They fixed the toilet and replaced the garbage disposal at a cost of $658. Is it me, or does that seem high? Their bill charged me approximately $260 for a garbage disposal, when I see they sell for less than $100. Feeling a little gouged here. They did not comment at all about the water leak in the kitchen nor did they follow up on my request for an energy audit. All of this could be in part that the plumber that did the work was not Mr Krout but a subcontractor. I expected at least some information or help with the water leak, but got nothing from him, and i expected their office to get back to me about the energy audit, but never heard from them. All of which is a shame, because they could have gotten a good, regular customer out of me. In the future I will look elsewhere.

They were able to identify and fix the problem quickly. They were prompt and came out the same night that I called them.

Very responsive and reasonable. Good overall all knowledge.

THIS WAS OUR FIRST TIME USING THIS FIRM. GARY PAID PROMPT ATTENTION TO OUR PROBLEM, WAS ON TIME, POLITE, AND HAD REASONABLE PRICING FOR SERVICE PROVIDED. HE WAS RESPONSIVE AND CLEANED UP ANY MESS. WE WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND S.W. KROUT. WE WILL CALL HIM NEXT YEAR FOR FURNACE MAINTENANCE.
