+ -1 moreOwner came to my home to quote an estimate on refinishing an oak table and 8 chairs and reupholstering 8 chairs. He gave me an estimate of $2700 or $2400 if I paid cash. I called to schedule the work about three weeks later. His price was a little higher than some others I contacted, but I decided to go with the cash price. He called me back about an hour later and said he had make a "mistake" on the estimate by $1000! and that he could not do the job at that price. Since other estimates I received were at or below his quote, I could only think that I had been lowballed and mislead. Stay Away!

+ 1 moreThis project far exceeded my expectations. I found John's company ad in the PA Yellow Pages so I had no prior knowledge or experience of his workmanship or reliability. I called him and set up an appointment for us to meet at my mother's home in PA. He brought a portfolio of his completed projects, which was quite impressive. What I liked most about John was his enthusiasm -- clearly, here was a person who enjoyed his work. And, as the saying goes, the rest is history. We scheduled a day and time for he and his partner, Joe, to pick up and transport the furniture to their workshop. Once the project was completed, John and Joe personally delivered and installed the furniture in my Connecticut home. I believe they call this "white glove" service. Bottom line...5 Stars for Arslanian Furniture Restoration!
Description of Work: John Arslanian and his partner, Joe, turned my mother's old 1950's bedroom furniture and China cabinet into modern-day showpieces. In fact, family and friends asked if my new furniture came from Ethan Allen! We started with the bedroom dresser and 2 night tables that had to be stripped, sanded and then double bleached in order to remove that awful red dye commonly used to achieve the "cherry mahogany" look, which was so popular in post-WWII furniture finishes. Working together, we color matched exactly the refinished pieces to my existing Ethan Allen sleigh bed! Next we moved on to the 2-piece China cabinet -- a console with several drawers, 2 side cabinets plus a built in secretary -- and the top hutch consisting of 4 "window pane" doors (each door has 8 separate windows) several interior shelves, both built-in and removable. Here again, John and Joe meticulously stripped, stained and refinished the pieces to my exact specifications. Did I mention that they had to remove each window and then re-install them one by one? Or that they removed and refinished separately the built-in secretary and replaced all the supporting hardware? And refinished the existing cabinet pulls and handles?
