James the owner is great. He was responsive to my requests and he and his crew showed a high level of regard for the mature landscape on my property. They were very respectfull when on site and worked both efficiently and effectively to get the job done. the planted 20+ large trees to add privacy along my property line as well as reinstalled a fountain I had on site. They were great. I would highly recommend them for people looking for larger landscape projects.
Description of Work: Regrading, large tree plantings, transplantings, dry stack wall construction

NEW REVIEW ------------------ Some things I learned from this project, 1) The expert isn't always the expert and/or may not always relay the expected design to the folks doing the work. 2) Use weed-barrier fabric. 3) Make sure everything is working and in order before you pay the final installment. (Getting them on the phone or back to correct any issues was near-impossible.) I should have demanded that weed barrier fabric be used under the new paver walkway and also under the mulch and plantings. I was told that mulch is a weed barrier. It isn't. It looked OK when they left. But functionally, it didn't work. I assumed they knew what they were doing. Most of the plantings and trees they installed, died. Drainage is still an issue and new drainage issues cropped up since because of the design, planter edgings, not regrading/placement of the french-drain. I didn't realize it then, but the pavers were installed wrong, as they were laid on-end, not on their side. Quantities to be used were far less than what was actually used. This made all the edging 4 inches higher than it should have been. The changes they made actually ADDED additional drainage issues, both in my backyard and from the front yard. In the front yard, the edging, as I said was laid higher than it should have been. But underneath the mulch, that they installed, the earth was not graded away from the house. The water poured over my foundation into my basement when it rained. Since then, I pulled out the mulch, regraded, and put down weed-barrier, I also changed it from mulch to stone. The edging in front and back is still too high. and but cemented in place. In the back yard, there were issues too. The edging, also laid 6" too high, never allowed the run-off from the patio to water the newly planted trees. The water pooled on my patio and debris from the patio got caught in the too high edging. Most of the trees on the side of the patio have died. In addition to the patio problems, the French drain and plantings did nothing for water pooling on the lawn in front of the garbage can pad. They were supposed to regrade it to channel the water to the drain, but the lawn area was not regraded. The mini-river in front of the garbage can pad remains and the the placement of the drain was a huge waste. Since they completed my job, I have moved most of the edging pavers to serve as a retaining wall in front of the fence to allow water to get to the planting area and I replaced some of the trees. Also the lattice they used to shield my a/c unit had to be removed to allow for a new a/c unit to be put in. Another huge waste. Also, the extension on my patio was to curve to allow for my large patio table. The table I have, and still do, is 5' in diameter and does not fit comfortably with chairs around on the extension. So I would NOT use again. OLD REVIEW ----------------- They added in a shed pad and a garbage pad, and hid my air conditioner outside with a small barricade fence. My patio is about 60 ft. long and about 20 ft. wide. They narrowed it by a foot on each side so that I could have a tree-lined patio. We had about 15 ft. of sky pencil trees out from the house. They re-landscaped this area like a garden with a tree and the front of my house by putting in stones and trees. I had originally hired somebody else but they had messed up the work, and Texada corrected the issues. I took out the mulch and put in gravel because I was having some sort of rodent issue out there in the mulch. That was corrected. They were really willing to work with me but the cost was too much. The work looks lovely now. I would use them in the future, if necessary.
Description of Work: I used Texada Landscaping to create a landscape design for my back and front yards and do said work. Added a paver walkway, added edging to flowerbed, and plantings and trees In the backyard, added an addition to the paver patio, cut away both sides of patio to add a one foot planting bed on each side, added paver edging to one side of patio, added a latice around A/C unit, planted trees, put in a french drain, installed gravel for later 6x8 shed installation and quite a number of plantings and skypencil pines.
