This was a tricky project that involved a lot of different aspects including wood repair, weatherproofing, painting and adding a new lock. Everything went very well. My concerns were taking into consideration and I'm delighted with the finished product - a period solid wood door that suits the character of my house.

Chris and his team are professional, competent, and considerate. They are also nice people. We were impressed with the work they did on our home. Some highlights: 1. Beginning of November, two contractors came to open up our ceiling and try to diagnose what the problem causing water damage was. They set up plastic drapes that protected the bedroom and the rest of the house from the dust and debris of cutting a hole in the ceiling. They were very good, finished in record time and helped us with some of the final "pre-project" heavy lifting because my husband was a little under the weather. (Thanks!) 2. When we scheduled the repair half of the job (we needed to leave it open to figure out where the water was coming from), we expanded the scope to paint the room and remove the carpet. We cleared out the room, they moved the bed and shelves, which I really appreciated. 3. We chose colors, and Chris looked at them with us and suggested minor changes to the accent color that made the room look even better and more pulled together. We appreciated his advice! 4. We have an old house, and at least one person who worked on it...didn't always do things properly. Chris and his crew took this all in stride, and fixed numerous issues with the plaster, walls, and baseboard/trim. They repaired many cracks in the walls and closets. They removed painted-over wallpaper and hundreds of carpet tacks. It turned into a gargantuan job, but they gave it a lot of time and attention. The work took longer than any of us predicted, but it was because once you uncover things in an older home (ours is near 100 years old), they need to be addressed. We felt they did a great, professional job, and my Dad (a retired HVAC engineer) gave the job his stamp of approval also. We recommend Sweet Success, and we'll be having them back for more projects. The contractor arrived when he said he would and got right to the job. He installed the hood and demonstrated its use before he left. He was very nice, courteous and efficient. This is the second time we've used Sweet Success Contractors and they will be our first call with future contracting needs.

We had installed an interior drain and pump in our finished basement and so we needed to repair about 6-8" of wall along the bottom of the wall as well as the area where the pipe ran up the wall and out of the house. We also had some other ceiling repairs from previous plumbing work in our basement. They did a great job and were able to blend with our existing paint so that only the repaired sections needed to be painted. We have used Chris many times for interior and exterior projects and the results are always the same - the final product looks great and is done with as little hassle as possible. He may not be the cheapest bid for any project but you will always get a professional, complete job.

We could not be more pleased with the courtesy and efficiency of the men who came to do the job. They responded quickly to our need, knew exactly how to tackle the job once they looked it over, and came and got the job done. We would definitely recommend them and certainly plan to use them again.

Chris and his team, which varied from 3-4 guys were punctual, professional and detail oriented. Communications was great throughout the process and I was very happy with the turnaround time and, most importantly, the final product.

Punctual, meticulous, responsible: Trusted them 100% and appreciated their timeliness and diligent work. They presented different options for the work (i.e. renovating the foyer with or without restoring the original woodwork) with quotes, so there were no surprises, and they helped me explore color options for the paint, without choosing paint colors for me. I will be hiring them again for additional interior renovation work! Very satisfied!

Gave a very detailed estimate on job. Came on time kept me informed. Was on the raining day list and he was able to come weeks ahead of schedule. They patched holes in my ceiling made by electrical work. Matched the texture on ceiling and wall perfectly. Fixed 9 cracks on my walls and a wall were paint was peeling off. Painted walls and ceiling. Cleaned up fairly well after themselves. Since I had extra work done than expected my final cost was a little over the estimate, but I had approved this over the phone. Would hire again.

The interior painting was done in late summer of 2017 and also the rear porch. However the weather caught up with us and the exterior couldn’t be accomplished until July because the weather was so rainy, The House is refreshed and looks good and the neighbors like it too. The backsplash was finished today. I designed and bought the tile and other supplies and Sweet Success installed a lovely white glass subway tile with smaller decorative tile running through the center of the whole backsplash. I look forward to working with this company again.

Once again, I was completely satisfied with the job done. The contractors were on time, efficient, courteous, did a splendid job, and the price was fair for the work done. I was glad I chose Sweet Success for this job and will have them come again the spring for another job that we decided needed to be done.

Chris and his crew were excellent overall. They were totally responsive to all of our suggestions. They were very professional at explaining what they were doing and why. They were very neat on the project--there was no mess left behind when they were done. They started and completed the work as scheduled and as promised. The price as quoted was the actual price. They restored the 100 year old wooden railing, built a matching gate across the front entrance, installed new Azek flooring after repairing several damaged areas of the under structure. They applied 3 coats of paint (primer and 2 color coats). They worked with us in matching the previous paint colors (3 colors). They also, at our request, built exact duplicates of two window boxes that had rotted over the years. They did not have loud music playing while they worked and there was no loud yelling during the construction (as we've observed on many other construction projects). The final result is beautiful and even better than we expected. It was a pleasure to have Chris and his crew work with us and we are totally satisfied with the result at our 100 year old house. We will be hiring them again for additional projects at our home.

Chris was very clear about the fact that he could not predict what he would find when he removed the damaged plaster from the ceiling. He gave me an estimate which covered the possibilities that he foresaw, but in fact, the situation was considerably worse than expected. The unexpected items included an old repair of ceiling plaster made by nailing wall board to the joists, and the very poor condition of the bathroom floor and joists above. He and his crew repaired everything, including reinforcing the bathroom floor under the toilet. They left my dining room clean and in excellent condition.

This was our second job performed by Sweet Success. We are very pleased with the results. We have an older house that always presents some unique challenges Sweet Success was up to the job!

Chris Dallaba’s Sweet Success Contracting is a one stop shop for a wide array of home contracting work. I found them under plaster repair and when he came to give me an estimate I learned that he could do much more than that. I used Sweet Success for almost everything that I needed done in the home. He had helpful recommendations in terms of how to approach different repairs. For my bathroom remodeling, I handled the design work and picked out the components and pain colors. I believe this is why his prices are lower than bathroom design firms. The quality of Sweet Success’s work is very good. Chris has a lot of experience and has seen everything before, which helps him to give an accurate estimate. He is careful with his estimates. Sweet Success will always be my first call for home contracting.

Part of the second floor ceiling, including a light fixture, fell down due to water damage from the third floor bathroom (which we fixed separately). Sweet Success removed the remaining damaged plaster, patched the ceiling, reinstalled the light fixture, repaired some unrelated cracks in the wall plaster, and repainted everything to match the original paint (and retextured the ceiling). Because our house is pre-1970, they used precautions appropriate to asbestos and/or lead. We had to wait for a spot on their rainy-day list, since they are typically booked solid, but it turned out only to be a wait of about a week. The workers arrived punctually every morning, were respectful of my requests for text communication rather than phone calls (we had an infant at the time), and finished the work in about three days. The patches blend perfectly and the work looks great. They left behind the extra paint for us. The work was completed well within the projected range. We will definitely be hiring them again.

It went well but I would of liked that they would of asked me about the old dryer vent connection to see if I would like a new one put input instead of using old one. I would of purchased it for them to do. They were prompt, reliable, and cleaned up when done. All in all I feel they did a very good job, I am a little OCD. I would hire them again and make sure that I look over everything better, I feel it was my fault for not noticing it and mentioning it to the men. I am sure if I noticed it right away they would of told me what to get and it would look better to me.

We were pleased with our experience with Sweet Success. Chris was prompt in returning my calls and got out to provide a quote quickly. While the price was higher than a couple of other quotes we received, Chris seemed to have the most experience and successful results in a older home such as ours (built in 1901 with original woodwork and plaster throughout). We appreciated his appreciation of the older homes and doing his best to maintain and keep a similar feel even with newer work that is put into them. We had to wait a few weeks to get them scheduled to complete the work, but I see that as a positive since I would prefer a contractor who is busy and can't get a job scheduled right away! Once we were on the schedule, the crew spent 4-5 days and were prompt and very clear about asking us questions or letting us know when they ran into issues. We had them install drywall on the walls and ceiling of the kitchen and then complete a level 5 finish to give a look closer to plaster. Chris was also helpful in making sure that he didn't over-finish any areas of the walls or corners where cabinets and trim would be placed in order to save us money. The crew was respectful of our home and polite with us as we were in and out of the house with our dog during the process. We will likely be using Sweet Success again in the near future when we have some repairs needed on the original plaster walls on our third floor.

Everything went great. Chris was punctual, responsive and professional from the beginning. I called him on Wednesday 11-29 to get an estimate, he came out on Saturday 12-2 to check out what we wanted done and we were scheduled for Thursday 12-14. He and his co-worker Ken arrived at 8am on 12-14 and worked until 4pm. There were a couple small patchings I added to the list once they were here and they accommodated that as well. His only caveat was that there was enough work to fill a whole day, which there was. Chris and Ken were easy to work with, they cleaned up thoroughly and offered professional opinions on a couple other areas that needed attention. We would definitely use them again and would recommend them to anyone for handyman jobs or larger remodelings.

Excellent work repairing the damage and plastering/painting the area. The paint and texture of the repaired area is indistinguishable from the surrounding area. Will definitely hire again.

I have nothing but great things to say about Sweet Success and our experience with the crew. I called Chris (the owner) on a Friday, we went over the issues I was having with water damage in our main bathroom and scheduled a time for an estimate the next day. I appreciated all of the questions he asked me to understand the problem. He was also very upfront about the time frame in which he could complete the work, based on other projects they already had scheduled – something I also appreciated. On the day of the estimate, Chris arrived right in the window that he had given me, which was great! After spending time examining our issues, Chris provided a detailed estimate on what work would be performed. He is also very clear to mention what work is outside the scope of the estimate, for example, if they found additional water damage in the bathroom. I appreciated the distinction between the scope of work and what would be considered a change to the work. While Chris was at our home for the original estimate, we discussed a few other items that I would like done in the future, which I was able to have done at the same time as the bathroom work. We had 4 projects total: the bathroom, fixing our outside concrete stoop, waterproofing our cold cellar and repairing the ceiling in our kitchen after pipes were replaced in our bathroom. Of those 4 projects, only one went as planned. With every challenge that presented itself, additional water damage, previous work being done incorrectly in the cold cellar, improper installation of a light in the kitchen (found when fixing the ceiling), Chris and team kept me in the know and took the time to ensure that everything was done right and not just slapped together in an effort to save time. I found this refreshing as the main reason they were called was due to hasty contractors who cut corners in my bathroom – I simply was not used to someone caring about the work they were performing. The team at Sweet Success cared about the work and as a result, performed the work at a high level of quality. The front stoop looks brand new and the kitchen ceiling looks as if it never had a huge hole in it. Our bathroom issues were very challenging and we just worked through some final touch-ups in that room, and the cold cellar is now a functioning space. With the work in both the bathroom and the cold cellar, Chris asked me if I noticed any additional water leaking in the cold cellar, or had any concerns about the bathroom, to give him a call and include photos so that we can work to get everything fixed. I feel that showed great commitment to his clients – especially since we had a lingering leak in the bathroom. I called him after discovering the leak and a member of his team was out that same day to fix it. I am very happy with the work that was performed and the excellent customer service. I have future projects in mind that I would like to use Sweet Success – and I hope my house is a bit nicer to them and the projects go as planned this time!

I contacted several companies. Chris and his colleagues were responsive and provided suggestions/solutions that made sense. We agreed on a price and timeframe and all four projects were finished quickly and done well. They were careful on site, answered all of my questions and walked me through the process. Look forward to using them again in the future.

This company was so good that we will never use anyone else for repair work. The proprietor is Chris. First, he knows what he is doing. He understands what can go wrong with a house and the best way to fix it. He knows all available products and what circumstances call for which products. He was able to repair windows, for example, that others told us would have to be replaced. Second, everything his crew does they do carefully and well. Third, he communicates clearly and often so we always knew what was going on. Fourth, they did an incredible job of keeping the house clean as they worked and left their work area (our garage) cleaner that we've ever cleaned it. Fifth, and finally, their price was reasonable for the quality of work (excellent).

Chris and his team were very friendly and respectful throughout the entire process. Chris provided a comprehensive estimate. He estimated the job would take 2 1/2 to 3 days to complete and carefully explained the work to be accomplished. Chris brought a large portfolio of past work which showed his crew's talent and quality of work. His team arrived on the days and times that they arranged and were punctual on all 2 1/2 days of work. Their water damage repair was excellent. The products that they selected for the interior painter were appropriate and look great. They used zip walls and tarps throughout the job site and put down plastic over all walkways. The finished result looks amazing. They thoroughly cleaned the areas of the house where they worked and left no debris. They also gave us the remainder of the paint if we need to touch up later. Before they left Chris made sure we were satisfied with the work and cleanliness. He reviewed the final price and answered all questions. We will definitely use Sweet Success again. They'll work around your DIY errors too!
