Chris and his crew did a great job, very punctual, worked neatly as possible under the circumstances, and the completed job was perfect in every way. The workmanship is top notch and they paid attention to detail. Chris and his crew communicate well and I felt very comfortable having them in my home for 4 1/2 days. I've told everyone I know how pleased I am with the results.

Chris and his team are the consumate professionals. Chris came quickly to give me an estimate for the job. He tested for lead around the house exterior to make sure that we didn't need to worry about lead abatement during the project. We arranged a start date and had to coordinate some work with my roofer in areas where there was some rot which we worked out. The team came when they said they were going to come and finished the job in a timely manner. His team keeps things as tidy as possible and they quickly point out issues that arise which could add complication and/or cost to the job. I have used Sweet Success before and will continue to use them in the future. They will never be your cheapest estimate - but they will give you the highest quality job.
Description of Work: Stained exterior of contemporary home. Painted trim and windows. Replaced wood in areas where rotted. Also repaired door from garage to home interior that was not opening well, and repaired exterior gate to back year.

As noted in my description of the services, Sweet Success did a great job and they would be my first call if I needed work done.
Description of Work: Sweet Success did a fantastic job. They had to patch textured drywall/plaster in the ceiling and matched the texture so well that you would not know that a repair had been done. Additionally they did a great job of painting the area, again so that you would not know that any repairs had been completed. Also, they showed up when promised and all went very well.

- Everyone arrived on time. - Issues communicated effectively when questions arose. - Work was done very well. Not rushed. - In the interest of full disclosure, I must state that on one day the assistants left some refuse on the front porch (hence, the "good" and not "excellent" rating for overall Professionalism). Again, it only happened the one time and the good work they did outweighs this little oversight. - Mr. Dallaba conducted business and managed the job very professionally. Thank you for doing such a nice job. We appreciate it!
Description of Work: - Repaired dining room and living room ceiling cracks due to water damage from above. Painted ceilings. Caulked bath tub. - Painted kitchen, foyer and stairwell walls and ceilings Painted crown molding. EXTRAS (no charge) - Replaced outlet covers - Changed bulb in light fixture - Removed unused alarm control panel and repaired wall

The work was fantastic. After multiple rounds of having the exterior of our 3-story house painted every 4-6 years due to poor paint jobs that did not last, we decided to take the plunge and invest in a high quality job. The team of about six worked for about 4 weeks, taking the surface down to the bare wood nearly everywhere. Then they used high quality paints to give us a beautiful new exterior to our house. I never would have believed it could look so good. The final price exceeded the original estimate, but only because we decided to go with a darker accent color that required more coats and with a 3-color scheme overall. Throughout it all, Chris was always available and quick to give helpful advice and respond to any concern that we raised. We would definitely recommend him to others (and have done so already).

I called Chris about the work and within a few days he came over and gave me an estimate. Once I accepted the estimate, we scheduled the work for approximately 1 week later. He and his guys did the work over the course of two days. They showed up on-time and early and worked into the evening on both days (he and his guys have a great work ethic). Everything was performed in a high quality manner and I was and am very happy with the results.
Description of Work: Chris and his crew: (1) repaired a bunch of drywall, (2) painted interior walls, (3) painted the ceiling, (4) painted baseboards, (5) painted some interior doors, and (6) repaired and painted my stairwell.

Chris came to give me an estimate for repairing damage to the dining room wall in August. It wasn't readily apparent what caused the damage and he spent a fair amount of time investigating in order to identify the problem; it turned out to be an issue with the gutters, which he doesn't deal with. It took me a few months to get that sorted out, but when I called him back in November, he was able to come out to do the work on my wall within a few days. He and his team arrived on time, worked efficiently, and were done in just a few hours. A month later, I am still very pleased with the work they did.

Within one day, all the misc projects were completed by Chris and his team. They repaired cracked plaster walls and painted the impacted areas. They blended the repair work so the entire living or dining room didn't have to be completely repainted. I had a garage door that was off the track with broken cables which they repaired. Then, I had an old basketball hood hanging off my garage that they removed and simply covered the mortar joints so you can't see the original holes drilled. There was slight clean up work afterwards, but when working with plaster and paint, that's to be expected.

They were prompt, friendly, courteous, cleaned up fairly well and, most importantly, did a great job. No complaints.
Description of Work: We had water damage in three areas of the house from leaky/rotten gutters. Chris and his crew removed the damaged surfaces, reinstalled plaster board, etc, and repainted. He also had seven items that we needed to have hung that were more than we could do ourselves: a 5' x 6' heavy painting; a rug in a holder; two items outside that needed to be anchored in brick; a bathroom cabinet and shelf; and a stained glass piece in the transome window. Finally, we had our front door completely refinished: stripped, sanded, varnished, cracks filled in, stained, etc.

They arrived on time, and did the work as described above. They were respectful and courteous as well!
Description of Work: removal of old paint and plaster on a basement wall. There was residual water damage which prompted this work to be done. After the removal, they used waterproofing cement and after that dried, they matched the paint and painted the wall. They used all precaution in the event their was any lead from the old paint. I was very pleased with the outcome.

When we called to get an appointment for an estimate, we were given a date for several weeks later. Chris arrived on the given date and gave us an estimate at that time. He was very knowledgeable and professional. We had one other estimate that was much lower, but due to a personal situation that suddenly arose, that contractor was unable to do the work; we especially needed the outside work to be completed before the cold weather set in. We were impressed with Chris and decided to use Sweet Success; we were told they could complete the work in 1-3 weeks. Preceded by a phone call, they arrived in 2 weeks right on time. Chris and 2 other workers put in a 12 hour day to complete all of the work. The other 2 workers were also very courteous and hard working. We were very pleased with everything they did and would use them again.
Description of Work: Sweet Success Contractors did a variety of jobs that we needed to have completed. They repaired cracks in the concrete on our front porch and repointed areas of our brick house where the mortar either cracked or in some cases was missing. They also blocked three areas on our aluminum soffit & facia where birds had pushed their way in and were going to the apex of our roof. In addition, they put on a new door sweep and new storm door handle, which we purchased, and put up 2 new curtain rods which we also purchased. In addition they installed 2 new flush master units in our toilets and waterproofed an interior section of our basement wall as well as refinished a small section on an outside wall near a set of steps.

Chris did a pressure wash on our driveway a few months ago, but after having our roof replaced recently, I noticed several spots on the driveway. These spots appeared right after the roof job was completed, so I am fairly certain they are the result of something connected to that work, and I am in contact with Aspen Roofing about a reimbursement. At any rate, Chris came out and pressure-washed the driveway again, and he also pointed out spots on our patio that he believed were "tar and roof asphalt granular," so we had him pressure-wash that area, too. In addition, he touched up some of the stain on our deck that had been scratched off during the roof job. We also asked Chris to rehang the door to our kitchen pantry. The hinges on the door broke, and the replacement hinges the manufacturer sent us were a newer model, requiring drilling, etc., something I was not about to attempt. Chris' assistant did an excellent job of putting the door back in place. Finally, we asked Chris to look at the doors to two closets in our downstairs game room. They were recently replaced when we had new shelving installed, and we thought the doors looked just a little "off." Chris and his assistant spent some time down there, taking the doors off and putting them back up. After the first attempt, I thought everything looked great, but Chris wasn't satisfied, so they spent some more time, getting everything just right. That is typical of Chris and the people he employs. Perfection is always their goal. My wife and I have used Chris several times over the years, and I'm sure we will be hiring him again in the future. In fact, we're always making notes of jobs for Chris' next time at our place. I would urge anyone to hire Chris.

The job required removal of the existing plaster (and wallpaper) and replastering and repainting. While working in the attic, Chris also pointed out damage in the third floor bathroom. They fixed this and repainted the room as well, which sent the total over the estimate, but we were very happy with the results. I would definitely use their services for future projects.

My basement ceiling collapsed into my finished media room in my basement after a broken water line leaked all over my kitchen and down into the basement. Chris and his team fully removed the old and not replaceable plaster ceiling with a new dry wall ceiling. He also installed new light fixtures, curtain rods and, basically, took the room back to it's original, but improved, condition. There was damage to the wood paneling and book shelves which Chris carefully repaired, stained and restored. You can't tell anything happened to the wood. Finally, everything was primed and painted. The room looks brand new and fantastic. I've used Chris many times for a huge variety of projects - both interior and exterior - at my house. He's trustworthy, knowledgeable, reliable, fair and courteous. I highly recommend him to anyone.

Chris came out and gave a quote. We identified and discussed the problem areas we thought they would encounter, but Chris explained that he could not properly define all the problems until they started work, which I knew. Unfortunately, neither of us could foresee what those problems were or their scope. During the job Chris kept me apprised of what they found and would take pictures or point it out to me when I would get home. Chris and his men explained what they were doing and why for every step of the project. They are proper painters and restorers. They identify not only problems they fix, but if they see a problem that is not within their expertise, they still tell you so that you know it needs to be repaired as well. They take pride in doing a good job, which is probably why this is the best paint job I have ever had. They spent the bulk of the time on preparation and repair and restoration. They did not just slap up paint and cover the problems. They would never do that; they are true professionals. Most important, at least to me, is that Chris is clearly a very honest man, as are the men in his crew. He will not sell you a repair you do not need, and he will not hide one that you do need. My job wound up taking twice as long as he estimated, but I can relax, knowing that they found and repaired all of the problems.
Description of Work: They painted the exterior, removed old porch railings, and power-washed my porches. I hired them because I wanted proper painters who would remove the existing paint, which they did, and check the wood for damage, which they also did. During the job, they discovered numerous instances of rot, some which could be repaired with wood filler and some which demanded that the wood be replaced. The most serious problems were encountered when they started working on my side porch, which sits on the north side of my house and bears the brunt of the weather. The soffit beam running the length of the porch, sixteen feet, was severely damaged. Too damaged to be repaired, as previous painters had compounded the problem by caulking and painting over the rot. So, Chris and his crew had to jack up the porch and replace the beam. The support beams were in bad condition as well, but they were able to save them. They also replicated several ornate, wooden architectural details so that the porch still looks the way it was intended and matches the Tudor-style of the house. They had to replace several other pieces of wood, but nothing else was as serious as the porch. All of the replaced wood blends in and looks great, as if it has always been there.

During severe thunderstorms, I would get water coming down the front wall of my cellar. Also, there would be water marks on the carpet on my front porch. I called Chris to make an appointment hoping that he could help me with my dilemma. He came and checked things over. His estimate was very reasonable so I agreed to have him do the job. I was very happy with everything that Chris and his workers had done to help me. He said I would need to find a roofer to replace the porch roof and flashing. That is not something he specializes in.
Description of Work: Chris and his workers removed the carpet and tar paper from the front porch. They cleaned the floor and hauled away the trash. The wooden riser and back board of the front porch was rotted. They replaced the floor joists and installed pressure treated wood to prevent future rotting. They applied two coats of drylock on the outer three walls of the basement. Two rows of insulation were replaced since the old insulation was dirty and moldy. Chris diagnosed the water problem stemming from the porch roof and that it needs to be replaced as well as the flashing.

I had another contractor (The Groutty Professor) regrout my upstairs shower. Two weeks after they finished I discovered moisture in my living room ceiling. I found Sweet Success Contractoros on Angie's list to repair the ceiling. They installed a plastic tent to protect the remainder of the house from lead and other potenital contaminates. They spend 2 days finding the leak paths and ensuring that they solved the problem. ($2650) While on site I had them do some exterior caulking of windows, while they waited for things to dry due to the leak. ($210) I also had them investigate another suspicious area in my childern's bathroom and they discovered moisture in the floor from a leaking tolet. They had to remove a once-piece linoleum floor and several subfloors that had been installed by the previous owner. ($1710) There were very thorough. They were frustrated by the complexity of the shower leak, but methodolically eliminated all apparent causes until they found the solution. The workers were very polite. On the 2nd leak, they calmly and accurately explained the severity of the situaiton which allowed us to make an informed decision to have the work performed.
Description of Work: Diagnoised the source of a leak causing damage to my living room ceiling. Repaired the leak, which required regrouting my bathroom shower, repair the ceiling, replaster the ceiling and repaint the ceiling. Preventive caulking of my exterior windows since they were on site. Discovered an additional leak (unrelated) to the above with the toilet of my other bathroom. Removed damage 1 piece linoleum and rotten floor. Repaired leaking tolet. Repaired and replaced flooring and installed new floor tiles.

Moreover, Chris had to adjust his schedule around the roofers, which proved to be a day by day puzzle. I would highly recommend this company.

I had storm water enter my basement three days after moving in to my new house. I didn't know who to call so I checked Angies List the next morning. I found Sweet Success and called them. Luckily they were already doing work in my area and stopped by that morning. They went right to work and saved the carpet in my gameroom. We couldn't save the carpet in the back office room because it was too wet but they removed that for me. Once the carpet in the gameroom was dry, they replaced it and added new transition strips. I didn't like the screws used for the transition strips because they sat up too high and I though would be a tripping hazard. I called Chris and he sent someone right away to fix that. That was really appreciated as I know it was a difficult job. I would hire Chris again, he was dependable, responsive and his price and quote were right on. I was very grateful for his help with a very stressful situation.
Description of Work: Chris and his assistant removed carpet from one room and lifted the carpet in the other to dry it out. They put in fans and checked on the situation over a few days then replaced the carpet.

Chris was very professional from start to finish. He helped us make decisions and he also showed us a book of before and after pictures of prior projects which helped us know he could do our job. The finished product is a dramatic improvement. Our only complaint was that two bushes did not survive the chemicals used and the finish on our outdoor small refrigerator was destroyed but Chris has agreed to repaint the surface.
Description of Work: Sweet Success cleaned and stripped and sanded all of the old finish from and than applied new stain to our 4 decks, railings, outdoor kitchen cabinets and porch and fence. They reset and nailed and screwed loose boards. They also power washed and sealed our patio and pool apron concrete surface. The protected our windows by taping plastic over them during the process.

Chris was serious, and professional. Timely with initial return call and subsequent follow up calls. He was able to arrange work to be done, in our circumstance, within the week. His estimate and total cost were exact. His timeline was exact and the job did not drag on. Clean up was complete. The deck work was extensive and thorough with attention to protecting the remaining house and yard area. The Exterior paint work was minimal but complex and again all areas quoted were completed with the job. Power washing created a spotless finish and the appearance of a new concrete patio.
Description of Work: Power washed and removed old deck finish and resealed, repainted. Power washed front patio. Sealed seam between old and new structure with caulking. Cleaned/painted outside of front gutters, removed debris from inside gutter. Painted top row of siding on front of house, new addition.
