About us

We are a family owned and operated tree service in business since 1981. We are based out of Verona and operate with approximately 10 employees, no subs, so the work we do is our own and it is work we take pride in that brings repeat customers. Cost is determined by the job, so we send out the owner of BJ Tree, Scott Mack, to look at your job and give you free handwritten estimate. Scott will look at your yard and trees as if it all was his own. His wife Wendie, works in the office and ensures the best she can her husband's arrival and work crews' timeliness. We look only to please our customers and treat them like the family we work as.

Services we don't offer

We do not spray insecticides. We never recommend 'topping' a tree nor will we top a tree unless it has previously been topped.

Description of Work: They promptly came out for an estimate. They fit me into their schedule because tree was leaning on my house. crew came on time and did a great job. Office crew was very helpful and friendly as well.

Description of Work: Removed 12 Hemlock trees along the property line. Showed up on time. Did not damage privacy fence very close to trees. Cleaned up all debris and finished by 4:00pm.

Description of Work: I called for an estimate in late in March 2013 and a representative came to my home within a week. I did delay in committing until I got at least three estimates. I finally decided to go with B J Tree Services since the estimate was fair and they had a good record on Angie's List. I was put on a schedule and they arrived at my home promptly on 5/8/13. The crew immediately went work in my back yard and cut down some medium trees on the hillside, prune and trim a tree in the front part of my home. The men were very professional and even my neighbor had positive feedback regarding the team. Upon finishing they cleaned everything up in no time at all. I would called upon B J Tree Service for any other work that would need to be done in the future.

Description of Work: It took a very long time to get me on the schedule. When I caled to check, I got the impression the staff had forgotten me. After I complained, the owner called me the next day, and the tree was down the day after that. The job was very well done.

We were having a difficult time keeping up with the demand of our regularly scheduled customers versus the storm damage that was coming in on a daily basis. We have been scheduled out eight weeks since early August. No excuses but sometimes the weather predicts our schedule more than we'd like to admit. We would like the opportunity to show you how we normally work and would be happy to accomodate you if that opportunity arises in the future.

They left the property in very good condition, thoroughly cleaned area when done. Had two bids on project. They were a bit higher, but it included more tree removal.

The overall work was excellent. I had requested extensive pruning of the fruit trees, rather than just a trim, they performed it very well. The trees to be removed are, shall we say- gone. The one downside was that there was a larger than desirable gap between booking the work and the work being done, but I think that this may have been due to the extensive rains we had in the interim.
Description of Work: BJ's came and cut down one medium sized and several smaller trees. They also provided stump grinding for the downed trees. In addition, they provided excellent trimming work on several fruit trees and removed some ornamental grasses.

SCOTT CALLED ME TO SCHEDULE THE JOB AND PERFORMED THE WORK WHEN HE SAID HE WOULD. THE WORK SITE WAS TIDIED UP AND ALL EVIDENCE OF THE TREES WAS REMOVED. I RECEIVED THE BILL WITHIN A WEEK OF THE JOB, AND IT EXACTLY MATCHED THE ESTIMATE I HAD BEEN GIVEN.
Description of Work: SCOTT AND HIS CREW REMOVED SOME TREES AND BUSHES FROM THE BACK OF MY PROPERTY. THEY WERE IN A CROWDED AREA AND GROWING OVER A FENCE INTO ADJACENT YARDS. THE TREES WERE CUT DOWN, CHOPPED UP AND DISPOSED OF, AND ALL OF THE LEAVES, BRANCHES, AND SAWDUST WAS REMOVED. THE REMAINING STUMPS WERE ALSO TREATED TO PREVENT RE-GROWTH.
