I called and made an appointment for a Sunday between 12:00 PM and 3:00 PM. The owner showed up at 11:30 and I wasn't home yet. He then left me a completely unprofessional voice mail. I will not attempt to contact them again.

I've got to say I wasn't really pleased with the work done by these guys. The removal went well and everything was cleaned up and left ready. When they did the pouring and leveling is where the problem arose. The door is not level with the concrete; there is a three inch gap on one side of the bottom of the door. I made phone calls to them asking for repair s to be done and it resulted only in shoddy advise to get wider weather stripping, which I did try but it didn't work well at all. I wish I could recall the price, it was lower than the estimate, but only because not as much of the garage floor had to be removed as we had originally thought.
Description of Work: They chopped out and removed the concrete in half my two car garage as well as a six foot city driveway.

He gave me a ballpark figure of between $3000-$4000 to do the job, and assured me he'd send a written estimate within a few days. I never got an estimate, and therefore I didn't hire them to do the job.
Description of Work: I had them come out to see about putting in a cement front porch. The person was prompt, very thorough and inspected the job completely.

Excellent! Tom showed up when he said he would, and he was incredibly helpful and great with explaining his rationale for why he was doing certain things, what needed to be done. Tom went above and beyond with dealing with a family member of mine who questioned every little thing he was doing and an overall nudge! Tom & his team cleaned up after themselves each day, & the house was exactly the way I left it. I could not have asked for a better experience!
Description of Work: Tom and his team performed brick pointing repair and applied a sealant to the front and the back of the house. He also repaired several plaster walls inside of the house that needed repair due to leaks.

Tom Natalini called on May 7 and said he was running late on another job and would it be OK for him to do it May 10. I agreed. On May 10 he arrived with his son Chris and two workers Manuel and Rick. All four of these people demonstrated professionalism (red company shirts) and expertise in doing this job. They worked from 10 am-3:15 pm and performed to my satisfaction and including, when I pointed it out to Tom, a difficult-spot-to-get-to (under a pipe in a tight space). They cleaned up well and replaced/renewed all things they moved to do the job (de-humidifier, towel rack, dryer vent). Tom, his son and the crew worked well together with some display of banter (Tom even sang "O Solo Meo"). I would hire them again and would feel comfortable with them in my house.
Description of Work: Mr. Tom Natalini responded quickly (the day of the call) to my request for an estimate. The work I wanted him to do was to fix a crumbling brick foundation wall in two rooms in our basement. He arrived on time for the estimate and looked at the work (15 minutes). He said he would cut out bad parts of the walls, clean them and apply cement that would fix the problem and said he would give me an estimate. The next day he gave his estimate over the phone $1685 for a property wall and $875 for a supporting wall = $2650. We agreed on a date of May 8.

I had Tom give me a price for a sidewalk replacement, small steps in the front of the house, and larger steps in the back of the house. I chose them to do the job even though their price was the highest. When it came time for Tom to come and do the job he called me to reschedule. When it finally came time for him to do the job at the nest scheduled date about 1 and a half months later he looked at it and didn't remember what he had given me a price for. I reminded him and he left and didn't come back. I called him a few hours later to find out whether he was going to do the job. He didn't return my phone call. This has to be the most unprofessional thing I have ever experienced with a contractor. The most amazing thing is his price was the highest of anyone I talked to. If you are looking for professionalism I suggest you talk to someone else rather then get you time wasted.

WHEN I FIRST LOOKED AT THE JOB, THE MEMBER & MYSELF WENT OVER EVERYTHING. A MONTH LATER, WHEN I RETURNED TO DO THE WORK, HE WAS TRYING TO ADD ON ADDTIONAL THINGS TO THE FIRST QUOTE THAT WERE NEVER THERE TO BEGIN WITH. I WAS A LITTLE LEARY TO PERFORM THE WORK & I WAS AFRAID I WASN'T GOING TO BE PAID AFTER THE CONVERSATION WE HAD. NO MONEY WAS EXCHANGED, NO CONTRACT WAS SIGNED, AND NO WORK WAS PERFORMED. BY MY TRACK RECORD, WE ARE STILL A STRAIGHT A COMPANY.

Tom was very responsive and came out for an estimate a few days after calling his company. Because it was the dead of winter, he promised to do the work in the spring when the mortar would set up better. In March I called him, and within a week, he sent his son over to the house. Charged exactly what his estimate was in December. I wasn't home during the work, but my wife said Tom's son was very polite and respectful. Upon my arrival to the house, the work had been completed and everything had been cleaned up. Beautiful job. New mortar matched exactly to existing mortar, and broken bricks were filled so that you can't tell the difference between the original bricks (100 year old) and the new. I would highly recommended.

Tom was extremely responsive and attentive to our needs. He came out very quickly and gave us an estimate basically the same day. The work was scheduled approximately 2 weeks from the initial estimate. Even though the final cost was more than the original estimate, Tom was very straightforward about the potential for it costing more. He gave me a ballpark figure and kept well within that range. He not only re-pointed and did the work on our chimney, but he walked our dog as well! In addition, we had some issues after the completion of the job and he was equally as responsive when coming back for a second look. Overall, we had an excellent experience and would definitely recommend him to others.
Description of Work: The job entailed spot pointing of our approximately 85 year old stone house as well as the chimney. Prior to re-pointing the chimney, it was power washed and silicone sprayed.

Tom was fantastic; returned our phone calls very promptly, and was terrific about communicating the process, both in advance and during. We encountered some unexpected things during his work (the front of our house had more damage than expected, and our fireplace was built half with brick and half with cinder blocks) and Tom was great about calling me as soon as he found something unexpected, telling me my options, and not pressuring me to make a decision ASAP. We ended spending about $1K more than expected because of the damage to the front of the house, but I found that to be totally reasonable. He was also NEAT. He covered my front sidewalk and STREET with tarps while doing work on the front of the house. The neighbors were floored when they saw the final product! I will absolutely call Tom again for any masonry needs.
Description of Work: Scraped loose paint and stucco on backyard walls, repaired stucco and coated with miraseal. Opened cracks on front of house, repaired and re-stuccoed and coated with miraseal. Removed some unnecessary brickwork around our fireplace and stuccoed over remaining fireplace.

They were always prompt in giving estimates and showing up to do the work; all work was done at a reasonable price; the work was done as neatly as possible and the areas were left as clean as possible each day; Tom even let my cats out of the bedroom when he was done each day; I appreciated the fact that the work was started each day after I left for work; everything now looks great and I am trying to find more projects that they can do.
Description of Work: 1st project: reinforcement of a bowing brick wall with 2 steel plates and 4 stars and stucco and carpentry work was done around installed French doors, including framing the bottom of the doors and repairing outside ornaments; 2nd project: removing drywall from unfinished basement and water-proofing existing stone.

Tom came out the same day I called (alone among Philly masons). Although we had a small dispute about the price (he wanted to increase it after hard bargaining) he ended up sticking with our agreement. The work itself was done very quickly. Dealing with him personally was a pleasure, and you know what you are getting (top quality work, though at top price too). Generally, it is very hard to get a mason to come to a small Philly street, and Tom is the best available in the city for that purpose. I would, and will, work with him again.

It couldn't have been better. I called them in at the request of a contractor who initially noticed the problem and thought it should be looked at. They came out to evaluate it within a day of my call. They even made a special consideration to work on it the very next day in response to the severity of the problem and to not hold up my contractor who needed that problem fixed prior to complete his work. As they were my second estimate, my contractor and I were impressed by they're ability to expertly solve the problem and do all the work involved in such a timely and professional manner, no short cuts.
Description of Work: First they thoroughly evaluated the problem, taking the time to problem solve. They had to remove and then replace a concrete slab that was under a wood decking to repair a cavity that had been allowing water to seep into the basement.

Tom was excellent. The work was needed at the home of an elderly aunt who lives about 40 miles from us. Whenever we had heavy rains, she would get water coming through her kitchen ceiling light fixture. The upper and lower roofs had been replaced, but the problem persisted because of cracks in the surface stucco. It turned out that Tom had grown up in the same neighborhood so he was familiar with the needs of this aging house. He met with us to review the problem at the scheduled time. Within one day, he gave us several quotes on options ranging from repairing only damaged ares of the stucco and sealing cracks to completely re-stuccoing the entire back and sides of the house. Tom was easily accessible by phone for follow-up questions we had. The work was completed as scheduled and my elderly aunt was completely put at ease during the process by Tom's consideration and respectfulness towards her. We have already scheduled him to do additional work at my aunt's home and our own.

They did everything in a very timely manner, beginning with replying the same day I phoned them. They gave a prompt estimate and scheduled the work in a timely manner. Their work was professional and neat, they arrived on time and did a very nice clean-up job. Chris the son deserves special mention because he identified the cause of my leaking gutters and cleaned them for me. Doing business with them was like going back 50 years in time. When family businesses stood behind their work and treated people right.

The masonry work was a work of art, the time of project completion was much shorter then we would of believed, and the customer service of the owner and his sons was superior. I have never worked with a contractor with such superior customer service combined with superior craftsmanship.

Tom, his sons, & crew arrived the day they said they would & worked quickly to get my deteriorating building masonry repaired & stuccoed. Tom supervised the first day or so & then had his son there the remainder of the job to supervise the crew & work the job. Tom was easily available by cell phone to review ongoing issues. Before going ahead with work he felt was needed but that was not in the original contract, he stopped his crew & called to inform me that more work was needed. I had no idea how much a job like this would cost so I have no real basis to compare price, but the cost seemed high. Tom was informative & competent. The crew was friendly & worked hard. The job was done in a couple of weeks. My only complaint was they did not communicate a couple of details to me about the clean-up which led me to believe they had not cleaned up after themselves, but in fact they had except for a pile of old bricks they left. One call to Tom and they returned to finish the clean up.
Description of Work: Major repair and stucco work done on above-roof walls. 100 foot long building, repaired and stuccoed 10 foot by 20 foot wall on adjoining building above the roof but designated my responsibility. Demolished extending chimney & blocked off; repaired and stuccoed approx. 100 feet of 3 foot parapet wall above roof (which involved demolishing and replacing 1/3 of wall due to decomposing bricks); stuccoed approx. 80'X 20'exterior wall of building.

Tom and his crew were good to their word. They began work within days of what they had committed to two months prior. A clear statement of work was provided and reviewed with my wife and me before work commenced. A thorough plan of execution was agreed to, including access to the premises, required cooperation of neighbors, necessary keys, phone contact numbers, and other details needed to stay on schedule. When further problems were discovered, the scope of work required and associated expenses were discussed and agreed to before any action was taken. On several occasions, my wife requested the inclusion of items outside of the original scope, which Tom and his crew accommodated without requesting additional fees. Tom personally took me through a final inspection of all completed work, explaining what was found, how it was addressed, and what I could expect from the repairs. His crew did a thorough job of cleaning up the job site before departing.
Description of Work: The entire back of our home had bulges and unsightly broken stucco. Moisture seepage and structural integrity were obvious problems, but other surprises were uncovered beneath the surface once work began.

After calling more contractors than I can count without a response, I came across Natalini and Sons. I called and left a message and within a few hours, Tom Natalini returned my call. He made an appointment and showed up on time. I explained to Tom that I was in a hurry to get the work done. He went out of his way to fit me in knowing the urgency of the situation. I am so happy that I found this company. The work was flawless! Not only did they do a beautiful job on the stucco, but they also repaired bricks from our porch that had fallen off, free of charge!
