Very well. Start date as initially provided in estimate and arrived on time. Stayed exactly within the time estimate, wall looks great. Also did a great job cleaning up afterwards. Tom Natalini also followed up with phone calls and was on site as well. Very professional.
Description of Work: Removed old stucco from rear wall of home (was loose and structurally questionable) and re-applied stucco: 2 coats. One with octaweld and second coat to apply permanent color. They had to set up scaffolding in the small rear yard area to do the job (3-stories) and basement level too.

Natalini & Sons work very hard to please all of our costumers. We stand behind our work 100%. Quality and craftsmanship is guaranteed. There seems to be a mix up from time to time. There are other Natalini’s doing work. This may have been the mix up with this gentleman about calling us and not responding. I assure you when we receive a costumers call we return the call as soon as possible. Our straight A’s and awards prove that. We are serious about our work. I guarantee you will receive a call or email. No work was performed for this gentleman.

I had watched Natalini's workers do beautiful work outside my doctor's office in Center City and took down the number. (This strategy has failed before but I wasn't an Angie's member then.) Encouraged by the work, high grades from Angie's reports and the chance to get a clear idea of cost for a large job, I called and got a quick return call from the owner. He sent his son instead, who was a few minutes late but no big thing. He was extremely nice yet professional, even taking time to explain some details of having a curb done. He wrote down our number. I was relieved that he was direct about work they don't do--the porch-- but he said he would have the carpenter they use contact us (This send flags up in my mind as a bogus line I've heard many times but things looked hopeful.) An estimate might take a week, he said. He'd drop it in the mail slot. Well. That was March. It's almost July. We thought the reports would make a difference. Pretty dissappointing.

we gave you a quote for your work you responded saying this is from your email to us: Dear Mr. Natalini, I'm writing back to so you can save my email address and to acknowledge receipt of your call with a total estimate for the stucco, basement entry, and curb replacement. Thanks a lot. The breakdown will be very helpful. To clarify a bit, the basement entry needs steps, a bilco door, and a foundation for that door. This is from your email you sent us. Why you’re upset is very confusing. If you would like to talk to me please call. Thank-you This is in your own words.

The team of workers showed up early each day they were there and cleaned up when they finished the job. They estimated that the glass block would take 2 weeks to arrive and started the concrete and pointing in the interim. The glass block arrived in less than a week and on days 2 and 3 they removed the old windows and installed the glass block.
Description of Work: Removed and replaced five windows with glass block, repaired cement around the windows. Repaired stone joints on front and side of house, spot pointed various areas of the house, replaced missing bricks on chimney, removed and replaced damaged section of concrete in rear of house.

Mr. Natalini came promptly and looked over the problem, explaining exactly what he was going to do and giving us a few options. His estimate arrived within the next few days, and shortly after that we agreed on a date. Despite all the recent rain, he kept that date, calling the night before to confirm. The work, which really looks nice, was performed over 1.5 work days. Mr. Nataline asked for half of the payment before he began and the balance upon completion. Things could not have been any better. One of the best experiences we have had with a contractor.

Tom came to the house on a Sunday and followed up the next day with an estimate. He was the highest of two bids, but we were impressed by his good scores on Angie's list. We had to reschedule once and Tom had to reschedule once. This was a bit of an inconvenience because I had scheduled other work to be done the same day. But Tom and crew arrived as promised on the new day and did the job all in one day. He and his son ran the job and were knowledgeable, professional and worked hard to please. Since this was work on the front of the house, I cared about how it looked (curb appeal)! They did a great job.

I verbally gave him the job after getting 3 estimates. He seemed capable of doing the work and he was my middle bid so I felt like it was a good fit. He was scheduled to start twice. Both times he called the night before and canceled. I then told him he was no longer needed. I had taken 2 vacation days to be there on the days that he was supposed to start and I could no longer risk him not showing up. He blamed me and said I didn't need to be there when he started. I asked him how he would be able to get a deposit and a key without me being there and he didn't have an answer. Then he told me how unreliable his workers were and that he was thinking of getting out of this business. I see him advertising a lot so that was just a sob story.

Tom Natalini is an experienced and professional contractor. I have an older row house that was showing signs of potential problems (bowing back wall, crumbling walls in basement). Tom was able to explain in detail how my house and foundation were constructed and to describe the processes that were operating on them over time. I was confident in his diagnosis of what repairs my house needed and how to do them. His proposal was clear, his crew showed up on the scheduled date and worked steadily until the job was completed, and they cleaned up each day, so I experienced minimal disruption. He also did an extra item for free, filling a hole in a common access drive. Angie's List customers should know that Tom advertises a discount that is automatically applied when you get your proposal from him. I would definitely call on Tom and his crew for other work in the future and would recommend him to others.

I don't understand how this guy gets such high marks on Angie's List. This is the 2nd time we've attempted to use him & the 2nd bad experience. Six or 7 years ago he gave us a quote for backyard patio & brick pointing work - this was based on someone in the neighborhood who had used him for pointing work. He came, talked a great game then we waited. Finally he asked us if we could wait 3 months until his schedule cleared. So we did, but when the time came he said he was short help & couldn't do the job at all. Four months wasted. Now we try again (should have learned, huh?); he misses the first appointment but does call after. Tries to re-schedule the 2nd appointment twice, but finally shows & provides a professional written quote. I asked a couple questions hoping to lower the price somewhat by changing the request. He says he's no longer interested in the job. Probably because of the ratings here, he doesn't need to care. No idea what his work might be like but if you want to use him, don't even ask one question; it is on his terms only.

SOMETIMES YOU JUST CAN’T PLEASE EVERYONE EVEN IF YOU CLIMB THE TALLEST MOUNTAIN FOR THE PERSON. I TRIED TO PLEASE THIS PERSON BUT IT WAS IMPOSSIBLE. THERE IS NO TRUTH IN THIS PERSON’S COMMENT. I ALWAYS TREAT EACH COSTUMER WITH GREAT RESPECT AND I TEACH MY WORKERS AND MY CHILDREN THIS. I GAVE THIS PERSON EMAILS, CALLS AND A PERSONAL ON SITE VISIT AND A PROPOSAL. I AM SORRY IF YOU ARE NOT HAPPY WITH THE PRICE BUT SHOVELING 10 TONS OF DIRT AND BROKEN CONCRETE OUT AN 18”X18” BASEMENT WINDOW CAN’T BE DONE CHEAPLY. I DID GIVE THE BEST PRICE JUST AS WE GIVE THE BEST PRICES TO ALL OUR COSTUMERS. EVERYONE CAN SEE OUR GREAT STRAIGHT A’S AND THE VERY WONDERFUL COMMENTS FROM OUR CUSTOMERS. I AM SORRY YOU’RE NOT HAPPY. I WISH YOU THE BEST.

They returned my call and came out immediately. They were prompt, friendly, courteous, and extremely helpful. They referred me to Angie's List for a different type of driveway. After a little bit of a rough start with communication, Tom Natalini and Sons came, did exactly the work desired, explained and work to me thoroughly, and even helped me to save money on the job by reassessing the work as it went along and deciding some work didn't need to be done. They lent me tools for some work of my own and did all the small things, such as hauling debris from another project on the house for free, just to be helpful. I did not receive replies to a few emails (although I did to others), and my initial conversations had a few misunderstandings, but once the work started, they were incredibly professional and the work done is excellent.

Their reply on June 8 was not helpful: "What I can see from the photo, removing existing concrete will run between $700.00 to $4800.00. Thank-you." I told them I could not negotiate with an owner over a price difference of $4100, and that I was very disappointed in the way I was treated. Their answer: "I would like to see you there Sunday between 12 & 3 pm. to see exactly what you want to do. We look at 9 to 15 jobs each Sunday. Please call me and let me know 610-449-2147. All the emails we get sometimes some get lost in the shuffle. Thank-you. Tom Natalini" I know they have a good reputation on Angie's list. However, as far as I am concerned, they dropped the ball, never looked at the property I was buying and didn't even apologize for their mistake.
Description of Work: On June 3, 2008, I e-mailed Natalini and Sons, telling them I needed an estimate quickly, and asking if they worked in Philadelphia. When they e-mailed me right way that they do 99% of their work in Philly, I sent them a photo of the house. They told me they could look at it on Sunday, between 12 and 3, and I said, fine. I did not have to be there. On Friday, June 6, I asked if I could get an estimate by Monday, because we had to get prices to the current owner.

Tom and company were terrific. They were fast, efficient, and did a great job. They made several other suggestions (not involving masonry work) to prevent further water damage. I'd use them again in a heartbeat.
Description of Work: I had water damage. Tom recommended several remedies including caulking an area where the stucco meets the house, and spraying all stuccoed areas with clear breathable silicone. He also suggested a cement coving to prevent further water damage. Besides these fixes, he noticed pointing problems on a chimney and along an external stairway.

Tome came out on a Sunday to look at my yard project. He had ideas right away. He mailed a proposal in a couple of days. I accepted the proposal. Because of weather related problems he was backed up 2 weeks. That was not a problem. He called the night before the work was to begin. It was amazing to watch them work as a team. Communication was not good so I will ask for someone else to give an estimate.
Description of Work: I called to get an estimate on a plaster wall with some minor leaking. I was also interested in two other masonry repair jobs. They were a little abrupt when setting up the appointment, but I figured they were busy. I got a call the day before my appointment saying I needed a water proofing company. I asked if they did want to do the estimate and I could get someone else to look at the work. I decided to cancel the appointment and the caller hung up on me! I guess I am glad I found out about their communication style before I went any further. I am quite disappointed as they have very good reviews on the List. Susan Hoyt.
