We were thrilled with the way the deck turned out. It looks fabulous and the gutters were cleaned better than they have ever been. He did not just run a pressure washer thru the gutters but really hand cleaned them as well as the downspouts. The dingy siding was cleaned up as well. Very pleased!

He and his assistant cleaned my gutters. They did a very good job. Coming again. I have confidence in this team.

The whole project went smoothly and efficiently. I emailed McDaniel asking for an estimate to clean the gutter and downspouts. That very afternoon Jim came out and took a look at the project and emailed me back with an estimate. In it he cautioned that if any downspouts had to be taken apart it would cost more but that they would give me an estimate of the additional cost before performing the added services so I could approve the extra charges. I gave him the okay and he came out the next week as scheduled. When they showed up to perform the work, they explained to me what would be done and then proceeded with the work. They were done quickly and with no issues. Though I expected to incur additional costs for clogged downspouts, they were able to clear them without having to break them down and there was no added costs.

Jim responded promptly to my call and even remembered us from providing a quote months ago. He was at our house the next day to secure some capping that had come loose so it wouldn't fly off in high winds. Jim is thorough, friendly and knowledgeable. We plan to give him our business whenever we need a service he provides. Glad to have found him on Angie's List.

We contacted several contractors found through Angie's list. We were very impressed with Jim McDaniel right away. He returned our initial call promptly and showed up right on time for the estimate. We received a detailed estimate several days later as promised. He also told us that he had a number of jobs already lined up when we accepted his proposal and that it may be some weeks before he could do our deck. When the time came he called to let us know that there would be further delay of a week due to unexpected number of rainy days. He apologized for the delay even though it was due to weather. The job which could have been done in 5 days stretched out to over 2 weeks due to the many rainy days and some additional repairs found needed when the old decking was removed. Jim and his crew worked meticulously according to plan. He also found ways to satisfy our additional requests at very reasonable added cost. It was truly a pleasure to have Jim and his crew rebuilding our deck. They were always on time and keeping us informed about scheduling around the rainy days. They worked diligently and conscienciously throughout the entire project. We can't be more pleased with the end result. We look forward to work with them again and soon.

Do you have carpentry, gutter cleaning, deck maintenance...or just another odd job around the house? Look no further. This is at least the fourth time I've asked Jim McDaniel to do some work for me. Having his number is the next best thing to being handy yourself. I really feel that Jim takes as much pride in his work on my property as he would do on his own. This time, I needed some baseboard installed, some gutters cleaned, and some repair work to a cracked plaster wall and a storm door threshold. I wrote him an email, but he responds to emails and phone calls equally quickly. I work during the day, so I leave Jim the key and feel perfectly comfortable doing so. I've never come home to a job that was anything less than exactly what I wanted. I love walking into my home where the only sign that Jim was even there is the completed job! The baseboard installation was the main job, and happened to be a particular challenge in my mind. I have walls that aren't square and a sloped threshold into the kitchen. I also have a stairway where it was going to be pretty tricky to have the molding transition nicely with the stairway. Jim's solutions to the problems are equal parts know-how and creativity. He seems to have a pretty good eye for how a job will turn out, and the end result looks terrific! I really, really appreciate the way he finds great-looking, pragmatic solutions with any job I ask of him. One more thing: Some of Jim's previous work at my house got dismantled when another contractor came through this summer. It had actually slipped my mind, but he noticed and fixed it up free of charge. Fast, friendly, affordable, knowledgable, practical, professional, respectful, honest...You will want to do business with him over and over, just like me!

They did an excellent job and the price was reasonable. Jim was on time and very professional.

On the days Jim worked it reached nearly 100 degrees and there was no shade in my yard. It took one day to complete the base by himself. To put together the shed he had a helper. The shed was 3' x 10' and the roof peaks at 9' so it was quite a job, doing that work in that extreme heat was remarkable. I would definitely use Jim again because he was so pleasant and did the job to perfection.

Jim and his team did superb work . They are outstanding craftsmen . Jim gave cost saving suggestions and fairly priced estimates. Jim and his team worked neatly and very carefully , paying attention to every detail and did exactly what was promised . We were informed every step of the way . The work was performed thoroughly and expertly , as if Jim and his team were working on their own homes . Jim was very proud of his work . They were the absolute best craftsmen we've had in our 37 years of home ownership.

He was always quick to respond. He was upfront about how long I would have to wait. Communication was great and he followed up after the job was done. He was very thorough and responsible. I will have them back again if I need them in the future. He was also very reasonablly priced.

They were good. Someone else quoted us three times for the amount. I'd hire them again.

It was a positive experience from start to finish. We had a quote within a day of our first contact Jim. We scheduled the work about three weeks in advance to fit our schedule for house guests.Extended bad weather threw Jim's deck work activities with other clients all off schedule but he made the adjustments and did our work on the schedule he had promised us. Our guests will arrive to enjoy the fruits of his labors. All of the work by all of the people is exemplary. Without question we will look to Jim and McDaniel Services whenever they can help us and would give them an unqualkified endorsement and recommendaton.

McDaniel was very courteous on the phone. Although our short notice could not easily be accommodated due to McDaniel's backlog of work, we were offered to call back if we could not find someone else in the time we needed and an attempt woulld be made to fit us in. I would try again in the future.

Jim is a fantastic businessman! He responded very promptly for my request for an estimate, stopping by early evening after I got home from work He looked everything over and gave me an estimate the next day. When I accepted it, he came back -- I think within a week -- to power wash everything -- it looked sparkling! And then in late May, the deck was stained. Great job -- I will definitely use his services again!

We corresponded by e-mail set up a date to clean my gutters , was there on time , I was at work ( my kids were home ) , and cleaned up thoroughly and will send me the bill by mail . I have other work to be done on my home and I will use him again

Excellent job cleaning what was rather dirty and, in one section, heavily mildewed siding. Also cleaned up a concrete floor much better than I expected. In addition, while he was up on the ladder, he re-attached some loose siding willingly and without charge. This guy obviously knows what he is doing. Very professional.

Jim was easy to get in touch with, responsive, and professional. He was very reasonable to work with, and we were happy with the pace of the work and its quality. We were very satisfied with the experience,and I highly recommend him.

I called Jim from McDaniel Services from the list of contractors providing handyman services. I explained that I had a small repair involving replacing a glass pane in an old, painted, interior french door. He said he would stop by later in the day to assess the situation to get a better idea of the job. After obtaining a replacement glass, I called him and set up a time. He arrived on time, and told me what it would cost for the repair upfront. I was concerned that the old trim holding the glass in place may be damaged when the old glass was removed and it would have to be replaced. Jim reassured that he would be careful, and take his time. He did a wonderful job; replaced the glass and trim, cleaned up the area and discarded the broken glass in less than an hour. He even asked if he could touch up the trim with paint. I highly recommend McDaniel Services. I will definitely call again! Thanks you!

Contacted Jim for an estimate and he promptly responded to setup a time he could stop by and make an evaluation of the proposed work. He showed up on time and was very courteous, respectful, and easy to deal with. To follow up on his visit he emailed us a quote. Jim showed up on the agreed start date and it all went very smoothly (the project took about 4 days). I wish we would have taken a before-and-after photo because our basement stair walls went from looking disgusting to looking brand new. Also, he did nice work installing a handrail and bracing up our basement stairs. In summary, Jim McDaniel did an excellent job for a fair price and we already plan to have him come back to work on other projects in our home. Highly recommended.

He pressure-washed and had another guy replace the wood. The job was completed in two days. I am having him back out in the spring to pressure-wash, paint, and re-do my deck.

Jim McDaniel was very professional and his crew did great work-- we're very pleased with the outcome. The deck is very large and sits one story up in the air (above a walkout basement door). We had the deck powerwashed and stained a lighter color than it previously had been. It looks brand new. Also, our house exterior (siding) needed powerwashed. They did an excellent job with this too-- it's a light color and had a lot of discoloration from moisture and shade. It also came out looking new-- stains that we thought wouldn't come off completely were gone.

Jim arrived on time for all apointments, first he repaired the pointing on the rear of the house that was the cause of the leak to the guest room. Then he removed the damaged ceiling insulation from the guest room, and all damaged wallpaper. We then left the room for several days to ensure that the pointing had sealed all leaks and tested repairs. Jim's crew then arrived on a predetermined day and installed the new ceiling, insulation, and completed all repairs including replacing the ceiling light fixture. They were extemely careful and removed all damaged material and cleaned up after each visit. Very professional and I would highly recommend them to a friend.

Overall, I am very satisfied witht he job and the professional delivery of the McDaniel's company. From the time of first estimate to the completion of the projects to the post delivery follow up, all were done above and beyond expectation. Very flexible, partners with the client and adapts to solution that is sensitize to both budget and outcome. Jim handles things with care as if it is his own asset and monies that is being decided on. I like that he is in tune with the balancing of the best possible outcome knowing clients are always calculating their own constraints (time, money, wish list, etc). Thank you for a job well done!
