C & M Lawn Service

Description of Work: This post concerns C&M Lawn Service owned by Chris Michel. Formerly this business was Chris's Grass Cutting and Handyman Service. C&M had been our lawn service for more than 10 years. During the early years their work was acceptable. Yet, during the last several years their service deteriorated, and exhibited a definite deficiency of quality craftsmanship. I am not one to complain, but I feel that I should warn the public about what I perceived to be C&M’s lack of quality workmanship. The deteriorating service includes the following components: C&M never calls prior to showing up to mow our lawn. C&M mowed the lawn at unsuited times. Showing up hours after a downpour (not the first time) each time the lawn ended up looking like a bad hair day. C&M was not attentive about property lines. C&M continually mowed 25% of my neighbor’s lawn and billed me for it. I am not paying for their lawn to be mowed. The property line was evident. We are usually not home when C&M mows our lawn. This time when I was home, I was dismayed at the total unprofessional manner they were using their weed whacker. C&M weed whacked the grass at the edge of my sidewalk by placing the weed whacker, “flat” on the ground, thereby destroying the grass and soil from 8 to 10 inches from the edge making it look unkempt and shabby. C&M also weed whacked our slope and damaged over a foot of grass and soil. This is not the first time they did that. C&M weed whacked around our 70 year old Dog Wood Tree for no apparent reason. There has never been any grass surrounding our tree. Thereby, causing damage to the bark. Edging doesn’t seem to be C&M’s strong suit. When mowing our lawn, time after time, C&M managed to skip over various sections of lawn. It’s obvious that C&M didn’t care about how they maintained my lawn. They did the same lousy job with my neighbor’s lawn. It gives me no pleasure posting this information in the public interest. This review is both to warn the general public about this deteriorating service and it is with the hope the C&M will improve their brand in the future; so that further complaints about their workmanship become unnecessary. But, C&M is excellent at leaving a bill with a self-addressed envelope. I gave C&M my cell number, inside their envelope, to call and talk about the problems, but they never called me back. I am asking, the public to be mindful of these problems before hiring C&M. Just a side note: I have photos of C&M’s work effective June 2017.

Description of Work: Clean up of high grass and weeds on two properties.

Description of Work: Showed up, 2 x so far and did what they promised.

Description of Work: Former landscaper unexpectedly stopped mowing lawn, so grass was a mess. Someone had dumped branches on property as well. C&M mowed lawn raked up grass and removed branches. Disposed of all. After work was completed they sent pictures of finished property. In my opinion price was a little high, but since they were the only one to show up after I had contacted others they got the job. I would imagine future price would be more in line, as much less work would be required.

Description of Work: They cut my lawn and do the basic maintenance of the lawn.
