On May 23, 2014, Leo Movers & Storage arrived at our home for a scheduled move. Mr. Brant Billingsley, owner, previously came to our home, inspected the contents and sent us a quote which we agreed upon. He satisfied us with the knowledge that his company was insured and bonded. Prior to the move, I called their office to officially notify them that our new home had hardwood floors throughout and they needed to take every precaution not to damage the floor. During this move, there was a sofa bed that was to be moved into a room on the first floor. There were two less experience movers who were trying to push this item into the room. There was a more experience employee who was in another room as was my husband and myself. When he saw what has happening, he stopped them and helped them get this sofa bed into the room without any problem. However, at that point, it was too late and our beautiful hardwood floor was damaged. When I called Mr. Billingsley about this damage, he sent Mr. Mark Reisner from Mark's Furniture Refinishing to look at the floor. Mr. Reisner told Mr. Billingsley that there were nine boards that would need to be replaced. He also told Mr. Billingsley that this would be a costly project. Mr. Billingsley said he was going to look for a less expensive company. I did not hear from him and he ignored my calls. I spoke to Karen, his secretary, and she assured me that she always put the messages on his desk. On one occasion that I did speak to him, I said I was going to write a complaint to the Better Business Bureau. He then said to use whomever I wanted to fix the floor and he would take care of the matter. I had Feasterville Floor come over and they wrote a proposal up of $911.00 to replace the nine boards. Mr. Billingsley then sent me and email saying this amount was too high and he thought the fair thing was for us to cover some of the cost even though his company did the damage. We did offer to pay $111.00 which is the cost of the wood. We have not heard from him since.

During the move they damaged a large Ethan Allen solid Cherry wood desk. The desk top was pulled away from the base. They damaged an Ethan Allen triple dresser. There were multiple gouges in it. My daughters full size sleigh bed and triple dresser were also severely damaged. The sleigh bed has splits in both the head & foot board. Decorative carvings on the posts are gouged. The assembled my poster bed & a week later it fell apart. They damaged one of the matteress/box spring supports. The entire time (6 hours) the moving men complained & cussed. I had to apologize to the neighbors at my old address as well as apologize to my new neighbors that I was just meeting for the first time. I called the company representative before the men even left & told him (Brant Billingsley) everything that had happened. He told me to write the damages on the receipt. I told him about the complaining & profanity. He came to survey the damages a few days later. He gave me the name of a furniture restoration contractor & he would have it fixed. After the contractor submitted his estimate to Brant, Brant said he would not fix the furniture that the contractor told him it was pre-existing. I contracted the contractor myself, Marks Furniture Refinishing in Langhorne PA & he stated that he did not say that & the only thing he did was submit the quote to Brant. I have left multiple messages for Brant to call me. He never has. I emailed him...no response. He has made no attempt to contact me or fix my furniture.

Response from LEO MOVERS & STORAGE
I personally went out to inspect alleged damage. I saw nothing caused by my crew but agreed to have an independent contractor look at it. I sent an independent antique furniture repair specialist w/ over 20 years experience to apt to inspect furniture. He said in his expert opinion, there was no way my crew could have caused what he called typical wear & tear of used furniture. He was 100% certain and has no reason to turn down work. Contractor also informed me customer promised him future business if he sided with her.

It was a disaster. June, 2012, I contacted Brandt at Leo Movers. In writing (I have the hard copy) also via telephone and email. I asked them to take my mom's furniture from storage to her NEW apartment THEN to come to her OLD apartment pick up furniture to go to new apartment. I also asked them to put a few pieces of furniture towards the BACK of the truck so they could put into dumpster at new apartment address. I understood that this request would take 2 trips. 1. from storage to new apartment 2. from old apartment to new apartment and dumpster. The Company came to my mom's apartment with all of her furniture from storage still on the moving truck. Therefore, there was not enough room for the furniture from old apartment. So they left a couch and loveseat outside of her old apartment for trash and left a few pieces of furniture still inside old apartment. Therefore, not honoring my request to take furniture from storage(Their storage Units) to new apartment. THEN come to old apartment with EMPTY truck to move furniture from old apartment to new apartment which included some pieces to go into furniture dumpster at new apartment location. NOT only did they screw up the moving proces - THEY LEFT at least 20 BOXES IN NEW APARTMENT(which I have pictures of) because they did not have time to finish the job. I begged them to stay and finish-offering them extra money to finish the job. They said they had to go to a wedding. WE HAD TO PAY SOMEONE ELSE TO MOVE THE BOXES TO STORAGE AT NEW APARTMENT, WHICH WAS SUPPOSED TO BE DONE BY THEM and we had to pay someone to move the furniture that was left at OLD APARTMENT. My mother WAS 80 years old and I was 56 yrs. old with MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS at the time of the scheduled move. We filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau with no positive results. Also, this was all supposed to be done within a 5 mile radius. ALL I ASKED FOR WAS AN APOLOGY!

I called Leo Moving and Storage on recommendation. I was very pleased with the customer service and responsiveness for my initial consultation and conversations. Due to my hours that I work, I was unable to have a consultant come out to the apartment to assess my belongings. However, I reviewed what I had on the phone. I was given a flat hourly rate for three men and a truck. I was very happy with the rate given and given the amount of belongings being moved, we estimated that the total move would be 4-6 hours. This seemed accurate due to the fact that I had just moved the exact same belongings just 7 months prior. During that move back in July, it took 3 hours for 2 men to load the truck and 2 hours for 2 men to unload the truck. I was expecting much of the same from this moving crew. In fact, I was expecting it to go a bit smoother and faster than the previous move because I added an additional mover. Well, the short story is that did not happen. The crew was prompt. They arrived early and were ready for the job. The guys were great. Very personable. I gave them an over view of the items to be moved and immediately there was hesitation on the time expectation for the job. Well, in short, the job began approximately at 8:30 AM and the crew did not finish loading the truck up until after 2:30. We were already well past the anticipated 4-6 hours total for the job. And the truck had yet to move from the first location. It took an additional two plus hours to unload the truck. And this did not include the never mentioned mandatory one hour travel time for a 15 minute drive. It is important to mention that the movers won't move plants or liquids. I was not aware of this information prior to the move so I carried several boxes and plants and moved them in my vehicle. Additionally, my antique hutch was broken in the move. We pointed out the damage to the foreman and the foreman told us that the hinge must have been broken or the screw missing prior to their moving it and also that it would be easy enough for us to fix. All in all, I had budgeted about $700-800 for the movers. I wound up paying over $1500.00 with gratuity. If I had not just had a moving crew only 7 mos. prior, I might think that I might have been mistaken on the time it would take to do the job. However, I had a smaller crew and they took a lot less time. Moving is expensive enough. Paying double what I budgeted for was a major disappointment. .
