The owner of Tri-County, Todd, graciously helped us in choosing beautiful cherry wood doors (and the cherry veneer) in a design that was just right for us to update our drab kitchen. While I would have liked to gut our kitchen, my husband was very mindful of the fact that as a retiree we need to watch our budget. We both wanted granite counter tops, so refacing was a very nice compromise. Todd showed us his display of refaced cabinets, explained all the details, and showed us the two dozen doors from which we could choose. After choosing the cherry wood in a dark oak stain, he showed us some granite samples that he thought would look perfect with the cabinet. We chose the one he suggested, which had all the colors in it that I had requested (my husband gave me that much). It was the perfect choice with the medium-dark cherry wood we had chosen. Todd also suggested an oil bronze handle for the cabinets, which my husband and I both fell in love with. A 16-gauge stainless steel sink was included in the package, along with today's soft-closing, hidden hinges. I wanted our damaged, 21 year old cultured marble master bath vanity replaced. Todd showed us a gorgeous matte finish cultured marble product in neutral taupe. He made certain that we got the smaller bowl sizes as we requested. The entire process took 9 days and his employees Dave and Andy (who did the actual refacing) were so wonderful to be around. They made certain that we were happy at every turn. The granite people did their thing and the final day was John (from Tri-County) coming out to hook up our new high arc faucet and new garbage disposer. He made certain we were happy with everything that had been done. Result: Brand new-looking kitchen at a fraction of the cost. I will admit to having been leery of refacing in the beginning as I had been brought up by parents who gutted every room of their house and redid it from scratch. However, our kitchen is absolutely beautiful and everyone who has seen it thus far has said so. People actually think we redid the kitchen from scratch. The quality of the refacing is just so exceptional. I would do it again in a heartbeat, and my husband is feeling very proud of himself for the money we saved. Deal with the professionals at Tri-County and you won't be sorry.
Description of Work: Refaced our 21 year old Ash kitchen cabinets and turned them (and shelving) into new, updated Cherry wood cabinets. Also purchased new, beautiful granite counter tops through one of his vendors. At the same time, we were able to choose a gorgeous cultured marble counter top for our master bathroom through another of his vendors.

TRI-COUNTY KITCHENS IS THE BEST & NEVER DISAPPOINTS!! My husband and I used Tri-County Kitchens in Trafford several years ago in our previous residence. We were very pleased with the quality, professionalism and the overall experience, so when we decided it was time to remodel the kitchen in our new home it was an easy decision for us to look to Tri-County Kitchens once again. As expected, the process from beginning to end was a great experience. They listened to our ideas, addressed our concerns and were very responsive throughout the project. Everyone in the office coordinated together nicely & worked well for all our needs. Todd and Alice, the owners, as well as Jeff our designer, Ann, and the installers saw to it that we were satisfied and pleased each step of the way. Our designer, Jeff, gave us several design options to choose from and revised them to our request. Jeff's attention to detail shows in the finished result as we constantly receive compliments on our new kitchen. The installers were very friendly, on time, and their quality of work was outstanding! As we all know, kitchen projects can be daunting and occasionally overwhelming. However, when you choose the right partner it can be very rewarding. Tri-County Kitchens is the right partner and I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a state-of-the art kitchen at a reasonable price.
Description of Work: Tri-County Kitchens removed our old kitchen cabinets & provided necessary plaster work needed to complete the job. They installed new cabinets with finished matching wood trim. Other tasks completed with this project include installing a vented hood over the range, & new Pendant lighting over the island, electrical outlets, moving recessed ceiling lighting, installed a new sink/faucet & plumbing for it. Relocated range/oven & dishwasher, sink. They also removed the height from a wall & installed a new microwave. Lastly, a walnut breakfast bar was safely secured to the half wall.

Todd always does a great job. I've used his company for several projects. He explains the process, and delivers what he promises. I've always found him to be responsive, his work is done properly, and his products are great. Take the time to listen to his recommendations; he didn't try to "upsell" me, but instead clearly wanted me to know the difference between options beyond just price. He would definitely be the first place I'd call for kitchen or bath work.

We were both really impressed with your company and the way you handled the job and the advice Todd gave us about the various components and choices we had. Your ability to stay within our price point and still give us what we wanted was much appreciated. I can't tell you how many times in my practice that I heard about problems with contractors, jobs taking forever, bad work, cost overruns and the like but our experience with TCK was completely the opposite. Take care, Michael D. Simon, Esq.

All I will say is that Tri-County is not consumer friendly, their owner Todd in particular. Todd is all about the money and not the customer's satisfaction. His workers were good enough but always in a hurry to finish whatever they were working on that day because Todd always had them scheduled so tightly. Todd never came out to see our kitchen, relaying solely on the measurements of an employee who measured our kitchen several years ago but has since moved on. To sum up, "I should have gone with Patete." Now there's a professional company that pays attention to details and to what the customer wants. With Tri-County, my anxiety never went away.

Response from Tri County Kitchens
Of course we are saddened and confused by [Member Name Removed] review. We have reached out to her and have received no response. Contrary to what she has stated, we are all about customer satisfaction as our reputation and reviews show. [Member Name Removed] came in two years ago and went through the entire process of purchasing a kitchen with my top salesperson at the time (He has since happily retired). She then made the decision to put the project on hold. She recently returned and ordered her kitchen. The kitchen is complete and as she stated the work is fine. We completed the project in a timely manner and made no mistakes. There were a few service related items that were also taken care of. During the project upon removing part of a wall and ceiling it was discovered that the wall that appeared to be non-bearing required a support beam and the entire wall would need to be reconstructed. We discuss with our customers in advance and state in our contracts that unforeseen/hidden contingencies will be handled with a change order if discovered during time of installation. This is normal in our business. Due to budget concerns and the fact that changes to the adjoining room would be necessary as well, [Member Name Removed] decided to not to spend the additional money. We came up with an alternate plan and she purchased an additional cabinet that was also installed in a timely manner. I’m not sure about the shout out to the other kitchen store. She told us when she purchased the kitchen that their pricing was exorbitantly higher. The only dissatisfaction that [Member Name Removed] discussed with me was the fact that she had really wanted the wall removed. We can only hope that [Member Name Removed] decides to contact us and let us know what we can do, within reason, to please her.

The whole process was very easy, customer friendly and pressure free from our first contact with Tri County to the completion of our new kitchen. Initially, we had just stopped in to look around, but ended up meeting with Ann, who took quality time with us to explain the process of doing a new kitchen and all the nuances that goes along with it. We were very impressed with Ann's knowledge. She was very easy to talk to. After meeting with Ann, we went back and made an appointment with Todd, who came to our home and talked with us about what we could do and what we wanted to do. He was very open to listening to our preferences while explaining the pros and cons of different design aspects. The design he came up with, was perfect for us and we could not be happier with the quality of material and workmanship. This review would be incomplete without a shout out to Brian, our installer. He was absolutely the best. He was very personable and easy to deal with. Extremely talented. It was a pleasure to have him in our home and would highly recommend him to others. The finishing team that came in to ensure that everything was done absolutely perfect also did an outstanding job. Last, but not least, Danielle was a great help to us in scheduling the project and helping us with the backsplash. We want to thank Ann, Todd, Brian, Dave and Danielle for all the work they did for us. They were the best. Loved dealing with each and everyone of them. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
Description of Work: Completely gutted our kitchen and remodeled. Workers were very professional and friendly. We were totally blown away by the new kitchen. Everything they did turned out just the way we had hoped it would. We could not be happier with the finished product.

I emailed them twice to get an estimate for a new kitchen and got no response. So I guess they didn't want the job or my money! ---> UPDATE ---> Tri-County has contacted me a few times since hearing/seeing my original review about not hearing from them and thus giving them that original F. They acknowledged and apologized for their mistake. They also asked me to delete this review. I won't delete it but an honest and fair update is due! Mistakes happen. Things get overlooked. I appreciate their acknowledgment, their apology, and the gift they sent.

We have contacted Angie's List and they have no record of our fellow member attempting to get ahold of us through the Angie’s List Message Center. We are Business and personal members, pleased with the business we receive from Angie's list and Business services we find for ourselves. We have also reviewed our e-mails through our website, tricountykitchens.com and have not received any contact from this member. We only wish she would have called us as our number is readily available . We certainly would have loved to assist her with her project. As the owner, I can assure you I personally see to it that we promptly respond to all new leads :)

Our experience with Tri County Kitchens started when we walked into their showroom in Trafford and met Todd Leighton, the owner. We had done our homework and thought we had a pretty good idea what we wanted for our new kitchen, but Todd walked us through the entire product selection process and we learned a lot. He was very generous with his time and it helped us refine our ?wish? list. Within a few days, Todd and Danielle DeBiasio, one of Tri County?s Design Consultants, came out to the house to further review our requirements and take detailed measurements. Within a week, we were looking at a design proposal and preliminary pricing. Most kitchen designers use a computer generated picture to help the home owner visualize the design, but they let us take a copy home after the design review to help us make up our mind and generate any further questions we might have. It helped us a lot that Tri County took responsibility for the measurements and gave us the conceptual drawings prior to any commitment from us. Todd told us that we should probably consider other kitchen contractors and we did, but came back to Tri County to work out the final details of the contract. We decided to go with Mountaineer Lakeside Custom Maple cabinets and Solid Natural Granite from Excel Glass and Granite. After the orders were all placed, we got a preliminary schedule from Tri County for delivery and installation, which all parties kept to. We were very impressed with the expertise demonstrated in the installation by Mike Ulrich (Ulrich Remodeling) and the coordination of plumbing modifications with Mike Lonzo (EMCO Mechanical) to keep everything on the original schedule. Details and coordination of the punch-list items were handled by Danielle and Ann Ringling and the final service details were handled by Dave and Andy. Everything was done to our complete satisfaction and we love our new kitchen. Rick & Betty Wolfe December, 2014

This nice family called to get an estimate on a kitchen, but was undecided as to whether or not they should remodel or purchase another home. In the end they decided to purchase a new home and not a Kitchen from anyone for the house. With this being said, it is not necessary to bring in your dimensions. When customers call we do explain, that it's often a great idea to come and see us before we measure so we can spend time educating you on the often overwhelming amount of products that we have available. This also allows us to accurately price the products you choose to fit your tastes and budget. You certainly can bring your dimensions if you wish and we can send you a measure guide to help. It’s always helpful to see some rough dimensions for design planning discussions. Some folks like to do this, especially D.I.Y. customers. If you do choose to just visit and gather information, we can then set up an appointment to measure and design your kitchen at no charge. The only exception to this would be someone completely beyond our service area. As the owner, I personally wish to apologize for any misunderstanding that we may have had with this potential customer. Todd Leighton, owner

It took awhile - because it's a busy company - but I knew that when I signed the agreement in mid-November. They felt confident they could get to me in February- and they did. The cabinet re-facer arrived on time on February 24th and removed all of my base and wall cabinets. He did the refacing off-site in his workshop- sparing me the dust from sanding and the fumes from adhesive. But before he left, he made sure we had a plugged-in working microwave - on the one surface he didn't need to remove! The next day, most the cabinets were returned and reinstalled. Three workmen covered the floors and finished installing the remaining cabinets, attaching the new doors and drawerfronts, drawer and door pulls, installing the new counters, new stainless steel sink and the brushed nickel faucet. They reinstalled my over-the range microwave, the disposal and the dishwasher. All of this was done within three days. The workmen were great, contained the mess, and cleaned up everything before they left. It was really a joy of a project - done efficiently and VERY WELL. And I love the outcome... an affordale, beautiful, almost new kitchen!

Price: B+ Not our cheapest estimate but their reputation was worth the extra money. They also knocked off $500 to be more competitive, which was appreciated. The value for the price absolutely ended up being there. We did elect to use another company for the granite counters as Tri County couldn't compete on the price (which was a special deal, though they were about $500-$1000 more than our average granite bid). Quality: A- Jim and his crew did great work. There were a few areas that needed touched up but afterwards everything looks very good. Responsiveness: A+ Jim and Jeff both were very responsive to our questions and inquiries. Their hours are very conducive as they're open to 9pm some days of the week. Punctuality: B+ Jim and his crew were a bit late arriving but they showed up early on the final day to assure they were out ASAP so we didn't have to work from home any longer than needed. Jeff was very punctual when he came to the house for scoping the project. Professionalism: A+ Absolutely great service throughout. Our project manager (Jeff) and installer (Jim) were both a pleasure to work with. Jeff was extremely meticulous on planning every detail, which provided a lot of comfort. We would (and have!) absolutely recommend Tri County.

Jeff Hinerman, the designer was very nice to work with. He did take a couple weeks to complete the design, but I was very pleased with the results. Also, he did not charge to come to my house to measure, which another designer had. The installers, Larry and Rick, were always on time and worked long hours to complete the job on time. They were pleasant people to have around. The lamination came off of one of the shelves. When I called about it, they ordered a new shelf and Larry installed it on December 20. The original plan called for slide-out shelves in the pantry cabinet, but they couldn't be installed because there is a pipe from the furnace and water heater in there. If you have any thing like that in your kitchen, make sure to call it to the designer's attention! I thought I had, but apparently it wasn't noted. Other than that, I was well pleased with the whole process.
Description of Work: Tri-County Kitchens remodeled my kitchen. This work was done between the end of June and the end ofJuly. They installed new to- the-ceiling maple cabinets, new can lighting, an over- the- range- microwave, and a new dishwasher The supplier sent the wrong hardware for a pullout spice rack, so there was a delay in getting that. I liked the fact that they had Construction Junction pick up the cabinets, appliances, and counter tops so that they could be reused.

We started the process of updating our kitchen in May, working on design with Jeff at Tri County Kitchens. We had never done a major renovation project and were pretty nervous about it. Jeff helped us feel comfortable with the process. Their lovely showroom in Trafford and Jeff's guidance really helped us pin down what we wanted. Work started in August and took about a month from start to finish. Every worker who came to the house was friendly, professional and neat. It was a great experience, and we love our new kitchen!

Tri-County Kitchens was recommended from a friend. Met with Jeff from Tri-county to review our cabinet options and discuss wants and needs. The cabinet quality options were impressive and reasonably priced as well as Jeff's experience and his attention to detail. This sold us on working with Tri-county for our design and cabinets. The design options were both nice considering that our options were limited for a small kitchen. After picking the design and some minor options, the cabinets were ordered while I began the renovation myself. Once ready for the cabinets they were delivered and in nearly perfect condition with all pieces as planned. I installed the cabinets myself. The overall design and cabinets themselves made a beautiful kitchen. I'll also note Tri-county made a custom cabinet above our fridge because this was the best option for looks and functionality. This turned out nice as well and matched all other cabinets. I will be recommending to friends and family.

I installed the cabinets myself. They fit perfectly even though my measurements were completely non-standard for any bathroom. The price they quoted was equal to or lower than all the other places I checked. When I picked up the cabinets, I was surprised to see that the quality of the cabinets was even better than I expected. They used REAL WOOD throughout! Todd, the owner, did this for me as a favor. Even though it was only a small job, and not even a Kitchen job, I was treated like a friend. When my wife and I do finally decide to have our kitchen re-done, there is only one place I'll go, Tri-County Kitchens.
