Dream Sunrooms and Windows

This has to be the worst company ever for customer service!! It should be called Nightmare Sunrooms! After purchasing the doors, I had to actually call them to see if the doors had ever arrived in their facility. I was told that they were sitting there and someone would call me to set up an appointment to do the installation. Eventually a subcontracted installer called and came out to do the installation. I have had problems with the front door since then. I called multiple times to try and get someone to come out and fix it. The only way I was able to get anything to occur was to send them a certified letter explaining that I was preparing to take them to small claims court to retrieve the $5000 I had paid for that particular door.The installer came back out but the problem was not solved. I ended up calling the manufacturer (Home Guard Doors) for help as Dream would again not respond to my calls. We had actually found Dream by calling the manufacturer after we had seen their doors in a brochure. We were told that Dream was the authorized dealer in our area (something I found out later was incorrect). Home Guard was also unable to reach anyone at Dream. I have been working with a local rep from Home Guard to try and get this situation resolved. Another contractor is coming to my house today to see if he can figure out how to solve the problems with the door (air coming in, won't lock or close properly, etc.). Fortunately, Home Guard is willing to stand behind their product and says that they will cover the cost of getting my door fixed. At least they understand customer service! I would NEVER recommend Dream Sunrooms for anything!

The estimate or over $10,000 for 8 vinyl windows was higher than I had already received for top of the line wood windows from a recognized manufacturer. It was also nearly three times higher than an estimate I received from another installer of comparable vinyl windows (who had very high ratings on Angies list). When I told the salesman that, he became angry and refused to leave his written estimate. I believe that this company or at least this salesman prey on people who are not able due to time or ability to do their homework. When I told him his price was higher than the cost of premium windows, he tried to convince me that his vinyl windows were as good a premium wood windows -- which is simply not true.

Job went very well. Communication was excellent throughout the process (i.e., advance notification when preparing to drop off materials, start of job, etc.). Staff were very professional. Sales person did not use high pressure tactics you find in a lot of other places. He set up an appointment to see an existing job and would follow up promptly whenever we had additional questions. The job was completed efficiently and the site cleaned up. Laborers did a fantastic job overall. There were no tell-tale signs of any debris or unfinished areas which is something other places don't do a very good job with. Overall, I would highly recommend Dream Sunrooms to family and friends. If I ever have a need for any of their services, they will be first on my list!
