+ 1 moreHeritage Lawn and Landscaping owned by Tom Bechtel was a great experience . We got constant assurance that all would be done right , and it was . Toms Employee Travis Webster, was nothing but professional as he was the one who actually took control of the job . He was always there when he said he would be and went far above and beyond in performance . He amazed us all ( including neighbors ) with his skill . He got the job done ahead of schedule and put everything back the way it was. Extremely pleased with all of the employees and the hard work and professionalism the displayed. Tom Bechtel and his company and crew are the right guys to take on your toughest jobs .

+ 1 moreThey came in at about 30 percent higher than the other two estimates that I had for a very large job. Getting them to provide me an accurate quote took them about three weeks. It took forever to get accurate information and a quote from them. They sent me a quote that was within my budget, then a couple of minutes later they pulled it back, they had made a mistake, and added $1000 to it. The average price that I got from two other companies was $3000, and they came in at $4000. It was for upgrades. They didn't get the business.
Description of Work: Heritage Lawn & Landscape Care did tree pruning. Gave me an estimate for an overall landscaping job. Planting trees, and garden work.

Description of Work: Winterize lawn for the upcoming cold season. Just moved to Hanover in Feb. This was first season with HeriTage Lawn. Their entire staff and team are top-notch and professional from Day 1 with the season (annual) contract to meeting my lawn care needs. All jobs were done as promised with advanced courtesy phone calls. My lawn stayed green and healthy all season. Billing process was convenient with the bills left in my mailbox with notes of service performed, what to expect until next treatment, etc. Price is fair. I believe you get what you pay for. Overall, I am very satisfied with Heritage Lawn and would highly recommend them. I plan to renew my contract for Year 2 and for years to come.

+ -1 moreThe services have been applied on schedule. My expectation is for premium result as this company charges premium rates in compairson to oher local companies. Thus far I am satisfied with the weed control but am uncertain if I am seeing premium result so far. The technician is very professtional, personable and easy to work with. Heritage technicians manage their own work so the office is not able to give you information about scheduling. They will have technicain call you who will be doing the work if you have a question.
Description of Work: We signed up for a year's worth of lawn service. They're applying fertilizer and weed control. Most recently, they applied limestone and spot treatment for weeds.

+ -1 moreThey did some work and we weren't that happy. They came back and fixed it. Now, we're very happy with what they did. We did some work on the yard for our septic system and it needed re-grading. They did an excellent job the second time. It was kind of a mess at first and that was what they were there for. They cleaned it up but they just didn't have the water run off the way we liked it and asked for. They did it right the second time. They've been done work for us through all of the winter. They were very responsive, punctual, and professional.

+ -1 moreI was pleasantly surprised when he actually called to say he couldn't make it Friday because his truck broke down. Most contractors just don't show up. He called while he was waiting for the tow truck. He said he should be able to make it on Monday, which would have been fine but he came on Saturday to do the job. I heard the chain saw and went down to talk to him. We had already discussed what needed to be done. They ripped out weeds, put weed fabric down, then tan bark in the areas that I have been neglecting. I used to do all my own landscaping but it is so nice to let someone else do it so I can spend my time on other things. He does a great job and I have a nicer looking yard without all the aches and pains afterward. I think his prices are fair and it's money well spent for me. Mr. Armstrong and his employees are always professional and friendly.
Description of Work: Took down and trees that were way overgrown. Cleared and area in my yard that I walked past and cringed because it got so overgrown with weeds and small trees. He and another worker also put tanbark in three places that also needed help from weeds.

I have no question that they do as they say they're going to do and bill me correctly for their work. This is my second year with them and I have no reason to change.

+ 2 moreI just finished the 2012 season with Heritage. They provide scheduled lawn treatments, prune my trees and large shrubs, and remove things that have become too large. I have used them since 2004 and would not use any other service.
Description of Work: I use Heritage on a regular basis for lawn treatments, shrubbery replacement and tree care. They are prompt, professional and very accommodating. If I have a problem or need extra service, they respond very quickly. They will do extra work in a scheduled visit if I have forgotten something without charging me more (unless it is a great deal of work.) Then they would schedule an additional visit. My only criticism would be that my lawn still has a few problems, but I ascribe that more to soil conditions than to Heritage's service. I would not ever think of using another service. These folks have become like family and I rely on them.

+ -1 moreIt went pretty good. The arborist mapped out the existing landscape and came back a few days later with a design that was based on our input. It took a few weeks for them to schedule the work but once they set a date then the work was accomplished according to schedule. Heritage subbed out the tree removal. The yard picked up a little bit of damage from moving in the big trucks and the cleanup could have been a little more thorough. The estimate was exactly what we paid. Description of Work: Started using Heritage in 2011 for lawn fertilizing/treatment when we moved in. Had overgrown backyard (ivy, poison ivy, bushes, groundcover), lots of shrubs in the front that hadn't been maintained, and several old trees that had a lot of dead branches and broken trunks. Heritage removed the overgrowth and designed new plantings. The job was done in three phases because of the overgrowth thickness. The crews that came out were polite and hardworking. Each phase was overseen by the arborist to make sure everything that was promised got accomplished. Only one azalea bush was lost since then. The other bushes are taking hold and we have blooms from early spring to late fall with lots of fall color. Lawn treatments are done 3 times a year. A lot of people in my neighborhood use different companies and many times their grass turns brown for a few days after treatment...but not ours. We have a corner lot with a lot of foot traffic and passersby give lots of compliments on our lawn. We don't have any weeds or broadleaf, just nice thick grass that feels good to walk barefoot through. On the first visit we asked the associate to call before coming by to treat the lawn so that we could prepare. The guy calls everytime he has come since then.

+ -1 moreOur contact with the people at Heritage was always pleasant. However, the work they did was very poor. We had our lawn reseeded in October, 2009. After the work was done there was almost no followup. The following spring there were numerous bare spots in the lawn. When ask about the spots Heritage sent no one to look at the lawn and did nothing to resolve the situation. After several calls I ask to buy seed similar to that used on the lawn. I was even willing to drive to their office and pick up the seed myself but was told that they would deliver some seed instead. Ultimately it took four weeks before they delivered the seed. As the summer progressed the holes grew and lawn deteriorated. Again when informed Heritage did nothing. By the end of the summer I was embarrassed at the condition of the lawn. Even now (Summer, 2011) there are bare spots that remain. The staff we dealt with at Heritage are cordial people but the work they did was unacceptabloe. Again, once the sale was made there was no followup at all and when requests for service were made there was no satisfaction provided. We don't anticipate ever using Heritage again.
