ACE CONTRACTING

The first people who started intentionally used a "slush" technique- it leaves dried mortar all over the chimney bricks, and it doesn't all come off (so it looks caked on over the whole chimney)- we were told it would wash off from the rain over the next few years. Then the people who finished the job using the method we expected (tucked the mortar in the joint), but they took a very long time. We were glad to have the repair done, but we had to make some additional repairs using another contractor. Apparently we started with them as they were going through a transition, so maybe things are better now.

It took eight days for them to return to install the dryer vent after the contract was signed, but they did a good job. Five days later (which included a holiday and a weekend) they returned and began the chimney work and completed it the next day. They cleaned up the job site. They were professional and skilled in their work. I am thrilled that my chimney is repaired and safe as quickly as it was, since winter is coming.
