Lois and John Gilroy and Sue Obaza are fantastic to work with. Communication was clear and steady, and everybody always showed up on time. Most importantly, the on-site team delivered top-quality craftsmanship and labor. Gilroy is probably not the least expensive option for excavating and other construction projects, but they are worth every penny.

John and Lois Gilroy and their team were simply fabulous. Well-organized, punctual, and committed to top-quality craftsmanship. They are not the cheapest contractors in the area, but they are worth every penny. They will provide top-quality work.

The overall project went really well and was done quickly. They were accomidating when it came to payments and they were attentive to my questions, concerns and comments. While the walkway was a little expensive, the quality and speed of the work were amazing. I do plan on using Gilroy Northeast again for other projects.

Great communication and very easy to work with. Lois kept us abreast of the progress and quickly addressed a few problems that occurred along the way which did not slow the completion of the job. Professional and reliable.

As soon as the work began, we had confidence that we had made a good decision. The excavation was done carefully with little time wasted. the preparation of the base was completed next and the pavers laid as we had chosen. Result: a beautiful patio that did not exceed our budget.

John Gilroy visited the site and gave an estimate within 3 days. The project was scheduled, and began just as agreed. The work took about a week, and the worker who did most of the work (Charlie) was a very hard worker and very diligent at his task. He is a real asset to the company. Dealing with Lois and Sue in the office was a pleasure, and the communication during the project was great. Everything was done exactly as agreed in the contract. I would not hesitate to use and recommend Gilroy Northeast, Inc. They deserve 10 stars. Thank you all for a job well done!

Not happy at all in my dealings with Gilroy. After making me wait over a month for the "pleasure" of an estimate, they called a few weeks prior to the appointment. Apparently they didn't like that I was having other estimates of the paver patio job I was looking to price, because after that phone discussion "they now are going to pass." I suppose financial diligence is not appreciated at Gilroy because I was told in no uncertain terms that "Gilroy is expensive." Almost like I couldn't afford their services. In hindsight I take that to mean "we will look to overcharge the less fiscally responsible." Please look elsewhere when looking for a similar job. They will make it seem like the are doing you a favor to overpay them. Save your time for a business that appreciates a customer and their needs. [approximate cost: $15000.00]

We are very pleased with our new patio. It is beautifully made and fits all our requests to the smallest details. The workers were prompt and very neat. They were respectful and cleaned up after themselves. They did the work in a timely fashion. The owner was fully involved with the job. This is not our first experience with Gilroy Northeast. They put in a sidewalk for us. We were so pleased, we did not hesitate to call them for this project. We have only good things to say about this company and hope to use them in the future.

It went just as planned. The work was done quickly without any incidents.

I work with alot of contractors and Gilroy was professional, honest, realistic and punctual. I would highly recommend him and will use his services for other jobs in the future. His office manager was professional, friendly and helpful.

There is a part in the walkway where water pools. Now whenever it runs dirt is pushed onto my walkway every time. It always looks dirty. They also dumped a bunch of grout into the garden area and I wasn't able to plant anything. I sent them a schematic of the problem but I received no response. I finally called and they said they thought I needed a drain. I haven't heard from them in 6 weeks. They did not address the grout problem at all. Now that they have waited until winter, they won't be able to do anything. They have been giving me the run around since June.

The front lawn was in very poor condition due to the winter weather and over time, most of the dirt washed away leaving very unlevel areas and sections where water just sat and it did not drain properly. I called Gilroy Northeast upon all the recommendations I read on Angie's List, and I came away with the same conclusion, I found them to do: An excellent job, having excellent customer service and extremely focused on customer satisfaction. When I called Gilroy I spoke to Lois to explain my situation regarding the front lawn. She was very knowledgeable, got back to me instantly with a date that John Gilroy could go out and look at my front lawn. He was there within a day or so, and immediately relayed to Lois what was needed, trucks of dirt, top soil and seed/hay to bring the lawn back to normal. He also mentioned that he needed to regrade the land so it would be level and would make sure it sloped properly so that if it rained, the water would drain properly. I was very impressed by the level of professionalism given, I had a contract with sketch via email the next day, instructions on how to take care of the lawn once they were done, a follow-up to make sure everything was acceptable to my satisfaction, as well as a file created by Lois on my property so any future questions or concerns I had, they would know immediately what I was referring to for future. You can easily see, their focus was excellent customer service and after speaking with John, they take alot of pride in their work. I will definitely use them going forward for any work that I will have on my home. Lois is excellent, very knowledgeable and offers any assistance and advice she can give even if it pertains to something they are not directly involved in, they know the value of customer focus. John gives advice and thinks out of the box, you give him a suggestion of what you would like, he comes back with ideas to make things more aesthetically pleasing, so they make you feel very confident, this duo team knows exactly what to do. It is very comforting to know you can turn to someone who cares and wants to do a great job for you. I have called others in the past, and not one has responded so efficently and did such an excellent job as Gilroy Northeast, I am happy I found them and I'm sure you will be too.

Worked with architect Mike Gable and prepared site for drainage improvement. Driveway area was excavated and trenched and pipe was installed as per approved drainage plan. All materials were disposed of in accordance with PA Deps Solid Waste Management regulations. Job was done in a timely and clean manner. We would high recommend this company and appreciate all their good work.

The project started off well. Gilroy was quick to provide a quote and quick to start. They completed the job on time. I would make sure to have drawings so that there is no mis-communication on scope of work as with any project, there can be differences in what is expected. Gilroy was not willing to make many compromises even if it was with a change order. The professionalism went down-hill as the project wrapped up. Too bad as I was hoping to use them again.

Gilroy Northeast gave me a proposal ahead of time with the cost and scope of the work, and they we're prompt with the delivery and the work was excellent.

I can't possibly speak highly enough about Lois and John of Gilroy Northeast. Service was professional, finished on time, and reasonably priced. You get every penny of what you pay for. As a bonus, Lois takes care of 100% of the headache surrounding any sort of permitting you might need.

Absolutely painless .. very prompt, completed work as scheduled, professional, personable, even came back after concrete was poured to ensure weather did not damage the apron. We are completely satisfied.

It went good. They were very good. They were very caring, attentive and professional. They were responsible and showed up on time.

They showed up on time. They were really friendly and great. It was typically two guys that came, however on the days they needed a larger crew, they would bring out more guys. The biggest thing that I was impressed with was that they handled all the permits for my area. They did an absolutely beautiful job at a really reasonable rate, especially considering the economy! I will definitely be using them again in the future.
