General Blacktop Paving

I Had a driveway, a year and a half ago installed. It is still solid and in great shape. Tony and his daughter came out recently and steel coated it. Tony and his daughter came out the other day and straightened out some edges for free. Amazing family company and stands by their work. I Highly recommend this company for your next paving project. If considering a paving company. Blacktop has over 50 years in the business.

After a week, some areas are poorly rolled and blacktop is falling away. Not respectful of owners property. My husband is still finding COVID gloves on property that he did not remove. Moved excess stone we had on property too close to neighbors property now we have to remove and relocate. Chipped flagstone path. Had to replace 2 sections of molding on garage doors. Husband furious that he dumped 3 buckets of blacktop pieces in back of property that he should have taken away. Was supposed to be a few pieces. Asked questions but was rebuked because “He knew what he was doing but it was going to be done his way”.

I've never worked with a more honest contractor. Response time was exceptional I wish more contractors would render this type of service. Everyone on his staff was polite and professional I would recommend general blacktop paving to anyone in need of paving work.

Milisa was excellent. She provided the reasonable quote and completed the job herself in a timely manner. She was knowledgeable, friendly, and always explained options and reasons for the recommended solutions.

This was the first time this type of work was completed on my property. Melisa was very polite and thrower. The job was completed has stated. After letting it settle for several days, I noticed that it needed to be reapplied in several areas. Melisa came out and review the driveway and agreed that an additional application was required in some sections. She did it right on the spot. No questions ask. Very well pleased with the results. I received a call back from Tony, who I was told was the owner, around 8PM on August 17, 2016. Tony informed me he did not have the time to come and provide an estimate, BUT if I would go out and measure my driveway he would give me a quote over the phone. REALLY? This is how you conduct business? YOU are at the top of ANGIE'S list. Obviously I will not be using this contractor and I will be cancelling my membership with Angie's List once it expires.

My wife and I were driving to town last Sunday afternoon and saw Tony's car pull in behind us; we stopped and flagged him and his wife down, explaining that we needed work done on our driveway. Tony went by our house that afternoon, measured everything and gave us an estimate / proposal on the spot. We accepted and scheduled the work to begin the coming Wednesday. On Tuesday, Tony and his foreman showed up to prepare our driveway - nice touch. Tony and his team showed up the next morning at 9:00 am, let us know they were there, and began work -- they finished, as promised, at 3:30 pm. The quality of their work is easy to classify, because it was outstanding. Tony's been in this business for quite some time, and it shows -- he knows exactly how to get this type of work done at the highest level, on schedule and at the promised price. The highest recommendation I could Tony and his team would be to answer the following question: would I hire him again? And the answer would be yes, definitely...

First I had a proposal from a big firm with large overhead but solid reputation. Their contract included all details: blacktop removed, 2a grade of stone to be used for leveling, binder course, then paving course. It was a big firm and a solid contract but the price seemed a little high. I called Tony expecting lower price from a small company. His price was only a little lower ($4.5K as opposed to $5.3K from a big company) but his contract had no details at all - just "grading" and "paving". He did not check disposal of old blacktop and planned to ditch it to my backyard. He did not indicate the grade of stone to be used and he did not check the binder course. Perhaps he was going to do certain technological details but the contract specified nothing - just company name, paving and price. With this type of contract I would be completely unprotected if he would fill my backyard with the old blacktop and then placed one course instead of 3 coursed. 15% price drop compared to the large firm who gave me the real contract with the description of what they were going to do is not worth the risk. Perhaps he is capable of doing the right job but I do not see the upside to paying $4,500 to the contractor who is unwilling to disclose in writing what will be done.

I contacted General Blacktop paving regarding having driveway cracks repaired and then sealed. Milisa came over and measured the driveway. She stated she would call that night or the next morning with an estimate. After two days passed, and not hearing from her, my wife called her and she said she would look into it and someone would call with an estimate. No one ever responded and we picked another company.

General Blacktop did an excellent job on my driveway. Melissa returned my call right away and came out the same day and did the estimate. The job was scheduled within one week. Tony and Charles were complete pros. The equipment they used was clean and in excellent condition. Once completed they cleaned up the area so no neighbor would complain. I would recommend these guys to anyone who asked.

Milisa has been doing our driveway for years. The work was done very professionally in every aspect of the jobs details . The driveway was completely cleared off of any dirt or excess grass before applying and sealer. Milisa made sure that the seams and bottom of driveway (Apron) was done a little extra because of the constant use of our Driveway. I will never hesitate calling her back next year or whenever we need to re-seal it again. It looks like a brand new driveway and everyone who passes the front of the house slows down and checks it out. Thanks again Milisa.

Arrived on time paving job looks great now. We had a few issues but Tony and Melissa were quick to respond and made sure we were happy. Thank you Melissa for coming out to our house and taking the time to check out the problems. It is great to fine someone who stands behind their work and reputation. You guys are the best!

Appraiser came to give estimate but did not inform me he was there. I was home but he failed to ring the bell, introduce himself, or personally hand me an estimate for exact services suggested. This lacks professionalism and demonstrates a severe lack of customer service. The price is more than I am willing to pay.

I explained to the gentleman that I wanted to have my driveway widened and re-surfaced. There were a lot of cracks and holes in it. He hesitated and then asked if I knew how long my driveway was? I said, "no". He then proceeded to tell me to go and get a tape measure and measure the length and width of the driveway and call him back. I explained, " well isn't that YOUR job? I mean, I'm gathering estimates to get a job done. If I'm taking this measurement and that measurement, how do you know if any of it's correct? ( I'm an engineer btw ) He paused and stalled and I finally said, " well it seems to me that if you don't want to come out here, see the job and give me an estimate, you don't want the work." He started to argue with me about, " coming all the way out there for an estimate." I hung up on him. Very, extremely unprofessional, and I will NEVER call this company again! I know for a fact that this job will cost me, and in today's economy to treat a potential customer who is about to spend good money on your services, this way? Nah, I'll take my business somewhere else. Forget all the glowing reviews probably by his family members, this guy and this company are extremely unprofessional.

Love this company! We were really nervous about getting our driveway done. It was grass and gravel. They cleared away the grass and gravel and paved the area that we agreed upon, which also included two parking spots. Honest, quick, fair, great price! Told us everything they were going to do before they did it. The house looks so much better! The drive way was done beautifully, nice and thick, neat! Cleaned up everything quickly. It was all so quick and painless! Would use again and recommend to family and friends, and have!

I contacted General Blacktop Paving to have my driveway seal coated. I spoke to them on Monday, they came and gave me an estimate on Tuesday. I gave the okay to proceed with the job and they came and did it the following day. They did exactly what they said they would do for the price quoted. I dealt with both Milisa and Donna. They were neat, professional and efficient. I am very happy with the work that they did and would not hesitate to use them and their company again. I wish I would have found them sooner. They take pride in their work and I highly recommend them.

Called company on 8/15/13 and Tony promptly returned my phone call. I had stepped out and he left a message. When I returned, I called his cellphone, as asked, and left a message. He called me back right away. I was seeking a free estimate on a asphalt repair and seal coating but as Tony and I discussed my driveway, I agreed that I needed more than a repair. Tony was wonderful, friendly and made me feel at ease. He came out to my house that same day, and it was after 6pm. It was really appreciated. He gave me a quote, that I felt was a little pricey but I am just very economical these days and realized that I was getting service, quality and professionalism worth much more than his quote. He arrived promptly on 8/16/13 with his team and equipment and began work immediately. He was hands on for the complete job and guided all the work. He and his team were amazing and did a fantastic job.

Held off by rain but did job at first opportunity. Some misunderstanding regarding what was done vs what was promised. Misunderstanding cleared up satisfactorily. Provider returned and redid cracks more completely and redid a major portion of the job to assure that I would be satisfied. I was more than satisfied.

THEY SHOWED UP ON TIME AND DID AN EXCELLENT JOB AND DID EXACTLY WHAT I ASKED FOR

TONY CALLED BACK THE SAME DAY. SET UP TO GIVE ESTIMATE A COUPLE OF DAYS LATER. SHOWED UP ON TIME. GAVE US A GREAT PRICE. SHOWED UP TO START JOBRIGHT ON TIME. TOOK TWO DAYS TO COMPLETE. FIRST DAY TONY AND CREW PREPED DRIVEWAY FOR PAVING. SECOND DAY THEY PAVED AND SEALED DRIVEWAY. TONY WAS ON JOB ENTIRE TIME SUPERVISING CREW.

Tony was a hands-on guy and oversaw every part of the job, which I liked. The price was very reasonable.

It looked brand-new after they redid it. We have a big driveway. They came in and showed up on time, which is unusual for this area. They stuck very close to their original quote. They even did a little bit more for us than what was quoted. The guys were very nice and professional. They were very hardworking. They came up here on a really hot summer day and worked their tails off. I can't say anything better about them.
