On January 12, 2023, Jason came out to check out our generator because it was not working properly. He told us it was the throttle-body that was faulty and needed to be changed. It would be costly and he would send us an estimate via email within the week. About a week later, our generator started working. I called the company because I wanted to speak to Jason, because I wanted to know what was going on. I never received a call, so I called again and left a message, and I never received a call, nor did I receive a quote. I called again, and I never received a call, nor did I receive a quote. My husband called twice to speak to the owner and they will not call us back. It is now March 17, 2023 and we haven’t heard anything. Correction, the only reason we heard from them is because I left a Google review and it wasn’t good, so they got upset and responded by blaming us. Use your discernment before calling this company. The serviceman, Jason, also use the F word frequently during the service call—very unprofessional. The owner, Dale Newman will not stand behind his work, or non-work..

Not good. Took the day off from work in Thursday expecting the "estimator" to show up. About a week prior I set up the Thursday appointment. Never showed. Get a call on Friday asking if it's OK for the "estimator" to come to the house. I asked what happened with the Thursday appointment. I get an apology. Sorry, I don't operate this way. Electricians installed wall sconces on dining room wall with a dimmer switch on the opposite wall. Dimmer was placed exactly where I had requested it, even though at first something behind the wall appeared to be blocking access for the wires to go through to the cellar. Dimmer looks like a light switch but has a tiny slide on it for dimming which I had never seen before, so you can set the dimness, then use the switch to turn on the light instead of always adjusting the dimmer. Electricians were very courteous, prompt, clean and professional, even finding some nice antiques in my cellar I would have never found behind a wall. Very happy with my new lights! :O)

I was very happy with Quality Electric the first time I used them, about a year ago. They were prompt, professional, reasonably priced, and just generally great to work with. Even though it was a small job, their service was excellent. The second time I called them, a few weeks ago, they came to give me an estimate on another small job and again the electrician was prompt and pleasant. Shortly after he visited, my plans changed, and I called to talk to them about a revised estimate. I wasn't sure if they would need to come out again, having just been there, so I asked to have the electrician just call me to discuss the plans. No call. Ever. By the third time I left a message (both with a live person and voice mail) and got no response, I assume they simply don't want my business. Maybe they thought since my jobs were small I wasn't worth the effort, which is too bad for them since I wanted to discuss having my whole attic rewired. The worst part is the delay they've caused for my project -- now that I've waited almost a week for a call that never came, I have to go back to square one with a different provider. Very frustrating. I noticed their overall rating has dropped from A to B in the past year, and I can see why.

This was a service call set up by your home warranty company and unfortunately in those cases we are at their mercy and can only do what the warranty company allows. If the warranty company refuses to allow us to complete any work then we can't, and because of that we usually find the home warranty customers are not happy with us when something isn't covered under their warranty claim. We would absolutely not do more work than we claimed to have done. We've been in business a long time and wouldn't treat customers that way. Perhaps it was a misunderstanding with the warranty company, as they were our actual customer and all billing and work-related information went directly through them.

Description of Work: They changed a ROTOR and STATOR on my Generac Generator which I later found out did not need to be changed so after another hour of playing with the generator they changed they changed the VOLTAGE REGULATOR I over heard them say i hope this works cause we could not find anything wrong the ROTOR and STATOR. They tested it and it worked. On 3/30/2013 we lost Utility power the generators engine started but AGAIN it did not send power to the HOUSE this is the SAME problem I had when I called Quality Electric to come and look at my generator. I called the day it failed to work 3/30/2013 They got back to me and said to me they would order the part and schedule a day to install the part. It took weeks I called on 4/18/2013 got the answering machine ( not uncommon). Later that night the secretary called and said my part came in on Friday 4/12/2013 so when i asked why i was never called she said its been a bad week I'M having problems with my contractor installing my inground pool and landscaping . On Friday 4/12/2013 at 8:00am it was the owner Dale he said they will not becoming to REPLACE (the Warrantypart) on Monday 4/22/2013 instead I will mail you the part and don't call us any more. THEY DO NOT PLAN TO HONOR THEIR WARRANTY.

When we first went out to the customer's home to fix his generator, we went through the troubleshooting that Generac has us do. When we were complete, we ran through the tests with the customer and confirmed everything worked fine. The customer was happy to have his generator working again, and we were happy to have another satisfied customer. A few months later the customer called in with his own troubleshooting stating that he knew what was wrong with it, and so the generator technician that was dispatched to his home the first time told him we would have to order the part again. The next week, Generac informed us that we needed a serial number on his generator and we called to get that information. He called us back with the serial number, the order went through and we waited for the part to come in. (deleted member name) then called in last week, left a message aggressively stating that the attorney general and better business bureau are interested in his "case" and we better call him back. We were shocked because we have had no issue in the past with this customer, and we did not understand why the sudden hostility. The secretary called (deleted member name) back after hours and explained that the technician he left the message for was working late that day and didn't make it back to his office yet to return the message he left a few hours earlier. The customer was screaming, threatened to take us out of business "as he has done to two other businesses in the past", was cursing at the secretary, told her he was going to rip into her and rip into his technician, etc. He was being completely unreasonable. This was not an emergency, and unfortunately when we place an order with another company that makes the part, we are at the mercy of the delivery date they provide us. Also, the secretary stated she believed it came in over the past few days, possibly Friday, Monday or Tuesday (it was a Wednesday when we spoke with him.) We also stated that he was going into the schedule that Monday, which his technician would tell him when he returned his call later that day, but the customer didn't wait for a return call and instead called our offices screaming threats. The owner of the company was made aware of the situation and he called the customer. The customer was equally hostile to the owner of the company stating that he makes threats and comes through, so we will absolutely not deal with a customer that is threatening us. This customer was unreasonable and hostile. A customer who threatens that he puts people out of business is obviously a "problem customer". Also, we absolutely are not required to warranty a part that we did not manufacture. It's a Generac part that broke, and we were just providing good customer service by offering to warranty the defective part, which we have shipped out to the customer. We have many satisfied customers, and we are sorry that (deleted member name) felt that he didn't receive good service from our company.

Overall it was a good experience and they did come out quickly to give an estimate. The work did take another week to start which we were kind of disappointed in given that their website said they provide emergency service and we were without hot water. Once scheduled they did show up on time and did all the work in one day. Everything worked properly when they were done. I would say that they were not the cleanest but the work was good.

We wanted to point out that we do offer 24/7 emergency service, however it is at emergency and overtime rates, which would have made the job more expensive for the customer and we try to avoid that unless the customer specifically requests that it be handled immediately. Otherwise we come out, quote the job and then give the customer the price and a schedule date to complete the work. If after we gave a schedule date it was mentioned that you needed this work done immediately we would have definitely had a technician complete the job for you that same day, but again it would have ended up costing you a few hundred dollars more. We strive for great customer service and we want to make our customers happy. After a contractor installed a fence around my family's home we lost power to our rear garage. We believed the issue was caused by the installation of the fence posts being installed directly on top of the old underground cabling. After contacting our insurance company they said the damage was covered by our policy but would need an itemized estimate for the repair. In the past, I've needed various types of contractors and haven't had very good luck dealing with some of them. Basically, no return phone calls, or returned phone calls but would never show up at the agreed time and date to check out the work that needed to be performed or everything went well up to this point but the contractor never sent an estimate. I'm sure most people went through this before, so this time, I checked out Angie's List and decided to give Quality Electric a call because of their reviews. I called Quality Electric on a Saturday and left a voice message. In a few hours received a returned call from Dale. We talked a few minutes about the issue of losing power to my rear garage and then agreed on a time and date for a repair estimate. Dale's brother, Rob, showed up on time and assessed the damage. Rob was very courteous, professional and knowledgable in the electrical field and explained what his company needed to do to fix the issue along with a price quote (quote was the same as the actual installation cost). Dale was also very courteous and professional and worked in detail with our insurance company to provide them with the necessary information for our insurance claim. A few weeks later, I received a call from our insurance company and they said our claim was being paid for the damaged cabling. Right after I received the call I scheduled an installation date with the receptionist at Quality Electric (she was also very courteous). Rob and a few other electricians showed up on time, trenched out a path between the house and rear garage, removed the old wiring, installed new conduit and new wiring. All the electricians were courteous and professional and got the job done right the first time. On the same day, while replacing the underground cabling they installed an AC disconnect electrical box. This was a separate job and the price wasn't include in this review. (see other review)

Requested advice and a quote from Dale on installing additional outlets in the basement. Our box had no space left in it. We promptly received a visit and the requested information and logical choices on how to achieve our goal. We were cautioned on some issues with the age and type of box we had. Their prices were competitive and choices were well explained. We made a decision to replace the whole panel at a very reasonable cost. We agreed to a date and Robert arrived on time and ready to do the install. He had all the necessary items needed to do the complete job when he arrived. He stayed with the job until it was completely finished. We had to make some adjustments to the original quote but they did not nickel-and-dime us. In fact Robert threw in several items that could have been easily listed as add-ons but were not. After the job was completed Robert cleaned up everything and left the area looking better than when he arrived. Dale and Robert are brothers and work very well together, they compliment each other. The next day it was necessary to get some information on the install and Robert returned our call promptly and completely answered our questions and concerns. I wish all contactors did these smaller jobs like Quality Electric. We were treated like a million dollar customer. This was our first use of Angie's List and it will surely not be our last.

It went well overall. Getting people out to give a quote was more of a chore than the project itself. Quality Electric actually called and showed up when thy said they would...hence they got the job! Overall the quote process went well, but when they came back with the official quote it was much more than what we had anticipated and I had to be selective over what projects I could have done. I had a set amount of money to work with and a menu of projects to choose from. Getting the quote itself took a little longer than I would have liked, but when it came it was clear and easy to read. The workers themselves very professional and my wife never felt uncomfortable with them here in the house the three days that they were here...THAT in itself makes me feel this is a good group to work with! Sometimes good work comes with a price, so maybe that is why they cost a bit more. What was done was done well and no problems have come from it. I would call them again in the future....I just need to budget for it first! UPDATE: in the midst of hurricane Irene (as described above) they were amazing! For both visits (a year apart) the team sent was the same. They were professional and courteous. The only negative is that one of the guys smoked (outside only), but the window and door to the basement was open. I can't stand smoke and I was stuffed up for several hours...but that's just me. I would highly recommend Quality Electric to anyone asking!
Description of Work: A variety of electrical work including upgraded wiring in one of our upstairs bedrooms, re-wiring all the ceiling fans (I was worried if I found something I could not fix it). This included putting in a new run from the box in the basement to the upstairs bedroom to get rid of all the really old stuff. UPDATE: One year later in the midst of hurricane Irene I had water rushing into my electrical panel and running through all of my circuits. They came out less than an hour after I called them...in the middle of the storm on a Sunday morning (for an emergency rate of course). They did their best to patch me up until the rain stopped so we could address the problem. We had to upgrade our service (installed sometime in the early 50's). They called back Sunday afternoon (still in the middle of the storm). When we gave them the green light they rearranged their schedule to get out to the house the very next day to perform the work. I was not thrilled with an unexpected $1600 for the updated 200 amp (up from 100 amp) service, new 40 breaker panel, proper grounding etc, but knowing the house was safe and "current" is peace of mind that was much needed.

The men arrived at the house as agreed by 8:30 and were done by 4:45. I was had to go to a doctors appointment by 8 am, and left the doors open so they can come in and do their work. I was not disappointed!
Description of Work: Our home is almost 90 years old and the main electrical panel was a 100 amp with only 11 or 12 circuits for the this 2 level home! I called Quality Electric and spoke to Dale, the owner. Since I was not able to be home on weekdays, Dale stopped over to assess what needed to be done and got back to me right away. Little did I know that the location of the electrical meter was so close to the gas line so it was not up to code of being at least 3 feet away. He sent his two guys over on the agreed date and I came home from an appointment to find one outside working on the meter while the other one was downstairs replacing the 100 amp panel with a 30 circuit, 200 Amp panel. These gentlemen worked diligently even with the weather not being so great! The meter on the outside did not have to be moved too much after all but the way it was enclosed in a box, and the piping running down around the wiring and the sealant used to protect them from water damage. I was impressed how it looked so neat and organized. There were other things added outside that was needed and again, very neat! On the inside, the gentleman worked on the panel and made sure it was leveled on the wall (put 2 studs and plywood to set the panel on) and installed a socket under it for our use or when they need it for servicing/diagnostic purposes. When they were done, they even swept the downstairs cellar! They showed me what was done both outside and down in the cellar.

I was very pleased with the work done. It was completed in the time frame given the workers were prompt, courteous and did exceptional work. They also cleaned up well and took all the garbage from the job with them.
