Seasonal Emporium

The woodstove was leaking and smoke started filling the house. We had to switch to very expensive electric heat, and are on a very limited income. This guy came out and said he could make the repair within 2 weeks, he just needed a check for the repair, quoted at $1050, so he could purchase the parts. He cancelled many times delaying the service for a month. When we said we could not wait any longer he said he would give the check back (which I found out he had already cashed) but made excusses about wanting to do the job right, too much snow, possible flurries, need good days, his laborer was working somewhere else that week, and he promised to do the repairs by the end of the week or first thing the next week. It has been 2 months and he is still making excuses and now avoids the idea of refunding the money, and has now stated that there is a 20% restocking fee (??? never mentioned that before). I said I would buy the parts he purchased but want an itemized list with costs. He is avoiding that also. We finally had someone else come out to give us an estimate and they not only sid this guy has a bad reputation but they made the repairs and it only cost $250. We still are trying to get our money back!
