We do NOT use subcontractors for building our decks. When you hire Russett Deck Professionals for your project, that’s who will be doing the designing, obtaining building permits, and the actual construction. We are specialized deck builders and only build using the best of materials on the market. When using composite materials, we will give you the best advice we can to help you make the right choice for your deck. We do not push any particular brand of material on you just to help us. It’s your deck, it’s your choice! We will obtain any and all building permits and supply you with drawings for your HOA approvals. Tom worked with us on new design to maximize the space, and provided quotes for a few materials options. We ended up going with trex decking and keylink for the rail system. Could not be more pleased with the result. Tom and his son worked diligently to install the new decks and build them into the space like they were designed with the house. Their skill and craftsmanship are 2nd to none. They pay close attention to the details, from rounding the edges of the drink rail, to tightening every vertical cable on the railing by hand. All the finishes look clean, straight, and plum. But most important of all, the new decks are foundationally solid and sturdy, and done right. The Project Coordinator at Excel listened to what I wanted and made some suggestion, but did not try a hard sell for goods or services. He explained in detail what the work crew would do and how the fence would be installed. Out of all the companies I contacted Excel was the only one to provide a written estimate. The price was reasonable and comparable to what other companies were quoting. The workers who responded to install the fence and gates were great. It was obvious they worked together in the past and were comfortable with each other. The supervisor went over everything with me before they started the job. He explained in detail what they would be doing. After the job was done the supervisor walked around the entire project with me, while explaining again what they did and answered questions. They definitely made sure I was happy with everything before they left. Another thing worth mentioning is their office and administrative staff. I made a point to stop by their office one day before the project. I believe the way an office appears and is run tells a lot about a business. Excel has a nice, clean office with very friendly and professional staff. A live person answers their phone, instead of getting an automated message, prompting you to press a number.
