BERRENA'S MECHANICAL SERVICES

The unit had been installed by a local contractor, who had been unable to fix any problems inside or outside with our new heating/ac system, for the last 2 years. The local contractor had to bring in several other contractors and eventually the distributor of the system installed. It was worse then a bad dream! Berrena's got us back on track w/the inspection of the system, fixing all they found and taking the time to instruct us on what they found and why it needed to be changed. The system is now efficient, economical, and it works!! We've been so pleased, we signed a year's service contract with them.

When these guys show up, they usually do a good job - however, they are lousy at calling to let you know they are going to be running late or not going to make it all. Sadly, they did not make it out to any of the appointments that they set up and I had to get another company (overpriced one, but at least they show up and do the work) to come in and do the work. I would not recommend using this service as they are unreliable.

Horrible. Contacted regarding work in late August, but work did not start until beginning of November, even after many phone calls. Original estimate was to complete work by Nov 15th, but by then only parts of equipment were installed, let alone even in the lab. After mis-specifying almost every major part, work dragged on through the entire spring. One somewhat humorous mis-specification was of a simple residential water sump pump (only different than the one in most houses in its all stainless steel construction), that had to pump water vertically about 10 feet. It took Berrena 5 attempts and 4 different technicians to install the pump, make sure it was working and finally determine that it was too small. Other problems dragged the project on until finally completed in June, but only after us (the customer!) had to specify the correct parts to achieve the original stated goal of controlling water pressure. During the entire project, it took usually 5 phone calls to the supposed project manager to elicit any type of response about project schedule, costs etc. It was typical to go for weeks between technicians doing any sort of work or hearing from the project manager. Now they sent us a bill with unexplained extra costs and far higher than the original quote. This was after assurances that it could be done for the original quote. Basically, everything that they did, we could have done ourselves in far less time and cheaper. The only thing they did completely correct was install a large residential water heater. Also, they subbed out the work on the reverse osmosis filter, so I guess they did that correctly as well. The goal of hiring this company was to save time and money, but just the opposite happened.

Very well. They came out at 6:30pm on Sunday night in 0 degree weather from 26 miles away! They were very good to discuss billing issues with.
