Description of Work: I used Michael J CAsey Electrical work. They gave me quotes on the jobs that I needed. We did not do everything. It was overall a positive experience. This was earlier this year. It was a lot of miscellaneous electrical repairs or new light boxes. It was a random list of things.

 + -1 moreProblematic issue with an outlet. Mr Casey came himself with another worker after initial worker unable to completely correct problem. He took the time to find main problem in another part of the house. Was thorough in finding main problem source. I thought the price for his work & time was very reasonable. When job was completed, was kind enough to have worker remove outside air conditioner cover so I could use the unit. Had to get a ladder to access unit. I would highly recommend Mr Casey for any electrical problem.

Description of Work: Casey initially rewired our sunporch and did an excellent job at a reasonable price.A year later one of the fixtures failed and he returned and repaired the product at no charge for labnor or materials despite the fact there was no guarantee in force. We subsequently had him install an emergency generator which was done promptly and carefully by a team of polite knowledgable people.Our experiences with this firm have been outstanding and I would highly recommend him for any electrical work.

Description of Work: We called Mike Casey do quote lighting for our basement and to check our electrical panel to see if it needed any upgrading. He came out promptly, was on-time, and very professional. He accurately converted our needs into quotes for the lighting and additional receptacles in the basement. He also recommended some upgrades to our panel which would not pass code today - along with suggesting a change that would save us money on our monthly PECO bill. The panel work included removing what he called "cheaters", eliminating separate boxes that controlled the hot water heater, removing the 2nd meter - which PECO nolonger uses, and adding a whole house surge protector.

They installed a new electrical panel the first day and ensured everything was working properly before leaving. The 2nd day they updated several outlets, replaced 2 ceiling fans (which required new wires) and installed a timer for an outside lamp. We have no complaints, they are easily reachable, prompt and reasonably priced. We will be using them for any future needs.

 + -1 moreMichael J Casey Electric were local. They came when they said they would and everyone was respectful. I won't give them an A for cleanliness. I would give them a B, because I had a few things I had to clean up, but I wouldn't make a big deal out of it. The prices were reasonable. They were not the most expensive but they weren't the cheapest either. Their price was in the middle. They showed up when they said they would and they came back several times over a week.
Description of Work: Michael J Casey Electric worked on replacing electrical wire in the house. They replaced tube and knob wiring with up to date wiring and we took the amp service to 200.

He took detailed notes on the work that I wanted to have done. which involved multiple rooms. The estimate arrived with detailed costs associated with each part of the work that I wanted to have completed. This allowed me the option of selecting the portions that were to be done . The work was done shortly after that and completed in one day. I am so very happy with everything.

 + -1 moreThe main problem I had is that the generator itself, which came from a separate company, took several months to arrive due to what was described as a manufacturing backlog. This was frustrating since it seemed to take forever, from start to finish, to get the job done. But apparently this is not Casey's fault (though in the final analysis they were MUCH too optimistic at time of initial estimate as to when the job would be completed). At least Casey was prompt and polite in responding to all my many e-mail requests along the way for updated information as to the status of the order. Once the equipment arrived, they were quite prompt in getting it installed and did an excellent professional job.

Suggestions to correct these problems made more sense than some provided by others. Pleased with work that was done, workers were friendly and thorough. Will use them again.

Description of Work: Called Mike Casey for an estimate due to great reviews on Angie's List. His estimate was in the ballpark of other electricians. His team arrived promptly as scheduled. They were clean and courteous. The job involved digging a trench to bring electrical service to a detached garage, installing a light and outlets in the garage as well as a spotlight on the outside of the garage. We also needed a dedicated outlet on the second floor to accommodate an air conditioner. In the process of performing the scheduled work, he alerted us to a potentially hazardous situation in the electrical panel which involved the water heater wire which was burning up because it was not the right gauge. I was so grateful they were able to replace the wire while here, averting a possible house fire. All the work he did was perfect.

 + -1 moreWhat could have been a very disruptive, messy experience was a wonderfully competent delivery of an insurance we now have against loss of power in a location that requires power for drinking water, toilet flushing, and refrigeration, etc.
Description of Work: Mike responded to my request in January 2012 for a quote for a 16kw generac generator to connect my in ground propane fuel source to my electric box about 40 feet away on theside of the house. My electrician had already defined one circuit board that we wanted to be continuing to operate in a power failure. He convinced us we should order a 20KW upgrade that Generac was now outfiitting with all the components at the same cost we had already anticipated. He worked with my inside electrician as he performed all the outside work in conformance to the needs we (my home electrician and I) had defined. He was intelligent, flexible and a good advisor on issues of what we needed to what size job and how to do it better than what Had been originally proposed by Lowe's whom I had to prepay a non refundable $75. fee just to get a quote (and an education.) Working as scheduled on 3 different days, he installed a trench, hauled in the huge generac he had ordered, hooked it up to the electric source and to then prepared the trench and outlet for the propane people to connect to the generac. He was a first class tradesman and expert from start to finish.
